Amanda Howerton-Orcutt is a sociologist and associate professor of criminal justice at Salem State University. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of New Hampshire. Her teaching and research interests focus on mental health, coping, resiliency and rehabilitation. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Love, Humility, Forgiveness, powers of the gifted.
Professor Orcutt. I’m so happy for you and I’m so happy that you did a TED talk about something that you gave to me when I was your student from 2009-2013.
Amanda -- this was such a joy to watch. I'm in awe of you and can't believe how much time has passed but how unchanged you are from the amazing person I met over 25 years ago.

Thank you Allison! And sorry I didn't reply to this a year ago! I was too nervous to go back and watch it; I just did for the first time :) You are an amazing woman and back in the day, friends like you (and that group) gave me something to aspire to. xox
