How Henry VIII's OTHER CHILDREN Looked in REAL LIFE- With Animations- Mortal Faces

Recreations on How HENRY VIII's Children LOOKED in REAL LIFE using my technology and my Photoshop skills. Henry VIII might have had 8 other children from various mistresses, resulting in possibly 44 or more illegitimated grandchildren. Henry VIII's legitimate children (Mary, Elizabeth, Edward VI) never had any heirs. None of his illegitimate children had any claims to the throne and lived "normal" lives, mostly within the court of Queen Elizabeth I. Their names were Henry Fitzroy (from Elizabeth Blount), Elizabeth Tailboys (fr. Elizabeth Blount), Thomas Stukeley (fr. Jane Pollard), Richard Edwardes (unknown mother), Catherine and Henry Carey (fr. Mary Boleyn), Ethelreda Malte (fr. Joan Dingley), and John Parrot (fr. Mary Berkeley). The only one recognized of Henry's illegitimate children was Henry FitzRoy.
This video is my artistic interpretation on how each face might have looked by transforming their portraits to real life.

Does anyone else notice that Henry's children with women from prominent families made it into Elizabeth's court? That's an excellent way to keep an eye on one's potential enemies. Which then makes me wonder was that Elizabeth or her advisors who came up with such a plan. I do love me some history! Thanks for compiling this. Made me think this morning.

Among the royal houses of Europe, almost all royal mistresses were married noblewomen, and the legitimate children from the man's legal marriage were most closely attended by the illigitimate half-siblings born from the mistress(es). The upcoming young noble was then surrounded by siblings who would be bound by blood and their families getting more wealth and power, but yet those same siblings could never be any threat to the legitimate heirs. This was continued even into the American Old South, where children of the wealthy were often assigned a servant/companion who was in fact their own half-sibling. That old cliche of the southern belle followed by her "faithful maid for life" was usually in fact, two sisters of the same father.

It is strange to think that Henry could have actually had a number of sons - since having a son was his obsession. Of course he needed a legitimate one. I have no doubt that had Edward lived he would have been 'Bloody Edward'. Catholics would have been persecuted and executed under his reign. On his death, all the contenders for the throne were female. He made his cousin Jane Grey his successor but Mary raised an army and deposed her. Jane was later executed.

@@susangavaghan Mary was not a cruel woman. We can tell that by how hard she tried to save Jane Grey and did not execute her sister. People forget that yes, she was Henry's daughter, but she was also Catherine of Aragons daughter. I believe Mary did learn and have a lot of her mothers qualities. But we need to insert Mary's husband into the picture. Before she married Philip, she was not burning Protestants. She was actually not going to do anything. Edward would have been worse than his dad and sisters combined and then some. The boy was a psychopath.

It was quite common in those days for other Royal family members to snuff one another out over who got to inherit the throne. I find it funny that all of Catherine and Anne's sons all died and yet Jane's survived in spite of her own death after giving birth. Almost all Royals in those days were related by blood, Henry and Catherine of Aragon were cousins, (which explains Mary's insanity). Though there is no evidence that Henry and Anne were related he was related to Jane Seymour... she was also a cousin via her Mother Maragret Wentworth which explains Edwards insanity as well. Incest created some crazy monarchs'. Elizabeth I was the only legitimate child Henry fathered that wasn't nuts. Many of his Bastard's were also related by blood with the exception of Mary Boleyn and 2 others. They kept it all in the family in those days.
