I gave him an 8.5 before the video announced it. Very solid career, that spinning back elbow was nasty & he fought in the toughest era of the welterweight division

“toughest era” lol The stupid things you delusional casuals say.
Stun Gun was a cool nickname. Also recommend the variety episode Running Man where he and Sexyama appear the one with the Avengers theme it was really funny
That elbow on Hathaway was lethal. Love these kinda videos, Kim was a great choice 🔥
As he said in one ep on MITH, after his last fight, he thought that he lost to his expertise so he walked away from the octagon which is really understandable. He kind of paved the way to UFC for his junior MMA fighters. When he was winning, Korean fighters started to emerge and that was his goal. He took that 'boring fighter' impression from people to keep winning for his juniors. And when he decided he could do more intense fighting, he already started losing.
Wow. Hadn’t realised at the time but DHK only lost to killers in the division. Nate Diaz had some wins over some massive names and could pull out unexpected wins against even the top fighters. Demian Maia was a specialist who if he managed to get a fighter down could literally submit anyone in the world. Colby is Colby. And the other two went on to be champs. Incredibly impressive when you look at it.

Woodley's win against him was more based on luck than anything else Stun Gun was caught off-guard early in the fight it was unfortunate. Wasn't really a satisfying victory for Woodley he's known for having these freak type of wins where it's not skill or hard work just something he manages to mix together because of his overpowering physical strength. Not against Condit though that was just technique vs. technique although Condit caught him first with the flying knee. Even as a defeat it was impressive for Stun Gun being involved in the most beautiful flying knee KO's I've ever seen. I feel like Tyron was on steroids before UFC it kind of shows nobody gets a body like that without going some illegal way around the gym.
One of my fav guys coming up. There was just something off with his prep/weight cut that drained him at the end IMO. Great to see this chanel give him some love. I started "The Dong Train" on Sherdog. Haha.
Oh my God I miss these videos glad to see it back
One of the best mma mini-doc series out there. Love these “how good was” vids
He was a solid fighter. Always a threat.
I almost forgot about this guy! Great vid
DHK was somone I already liked, but after watching the interview from 2012, I became an even bigger fan. Some bits from the interview: DHK "Doping is illegal, but they don't get caught. ... doping tests done by UFC catch only levels that are really high and they let everything below slide, so fighters control it all" Host "So, UFC fighters are using doping? Then, fighters who use them will certainly show better performance, right?" DHK "90% use it. It's not just 'certainly', if you don't do it, you are treated like an IDIOT. It's like going to a cycling race with a bicycle while others ride a motorbike." DHK "I don't use it. I'm that IDIOT" source: kzread.info/dash/bejne/a4mqt66GeLfOpqQ.html When considering how visibly fatigued he seemed compared to the average UFC athlete in the later rounds of his fights, it's a highly credible claim to say that he did not resort to doping. Furthermore, even years after retiring, his physique remains largely unchanged from his time as an athlete. While I wonder how far he could have gone if he had used performance-enhancing substances, I infinitely admire his stance of not succumbing to the doping era and fighting honorably according to his principle

now he is in his 40s but still looking good and strong
Great content!
Dope video 💯
Lets go DHK!!!! Rooted for him in the UFC and rooting for him now in PHYSICAL 100 S2!!!!
I started watching MMA at just around the same time KDH ended his carrier and as he wasn't a star I never watched any of his fights. Watching some Korean variety shows with him made me go back and watch his carrier and this guy sneakily has such a great carrier. He literally never lost to anyone who is not a big name. His two losses early on that derailed him were to Carlos Conduit and Damien Maia really top level guys in the early days of the UFC. Then later on he would fight Woodley in his prime and Colby in his prime.
I felt very devastated when he lost to Tyron Woodley. Woodley always has the cheapest wins, lucky KO against Robbie, freak accident and a knee injury against Condit & then caught Kim off guard. Loved Stun Gun's fighting style so damn aggressive, great personality and willingness to perform well. His Erick Silva & Josh Hathaway knockouts were things of beauty especially that spinning elbow KO my god. Nothing but respect for this Korean warrior wish he had more luck definitely had the potential to be the champion I know I wanted to see it happen. Such a talented athlete. Massively impressive career only lost to Condit, Maia, Woodley and Colby. Easily one of the best fighters ever. Him & Machida were two of my favorite Asian mixed martial artists ever.
My favorite Korean fighter of all time

@@kartikeymishra3177 he went 9-3 in the ufc against best fighters on the word, and he was on 5 fights winning streaks when he left the promotion! So how exactly "he was destroyed" ?
The very FIRST ufc fight I ever watched was stungun vs nate diaz.
Do a video on “Where does Kevin Lee fit into all this?”
When are you going to do how good was Stefan Struve?
I had always wondered what happened to him. Thanks!
Hope dana stops demonetizing your videos or just hires you! Keep it up!
Can you do how good was Damien Maia
Could you do a how good was Frankie Edgar video and a how good was TJ Dillashaw video?
he was a legit top 10 and probably borderline top 5 at his peak in the ufc. the problem with him is that he had power but his standup was also very sloppy and like so many wrestlers (though he wasn't a wrestler he fought like one), he fell in love with his power too much
Can you do one on Uriah hall and the fireball kid takanomi g.
Do how good was Anthony Smith. I know he is not retired but I just don't see him winning a title or fighting much longer.
격투기에 진심이었던 동현이형!!
I saw him unalive a protagonist in a Kpop song 😭

How good was john Hathaway please!!
Everybody I know named dong became really good at fighting for some reason
Technically he is a lot better than Korean zombie
He has his own gym too.
People really act like if you never fought for the belt or were a top 5 guy you were a bum.
Can you do fabricio werdum
Whats up with the algorithm ? I only just found this video and it has a low number of views 😢 Hopefully the views pick up again because i love the time taken to make these vids!
Oh man i miss karo
Stun gun was awesome. Judo strong
Looking at this guys record he is really underrated he only lost to great guys
Stun gun!
Anyone here after watching Physical 100 S2? 😁
He was funny in season 2 of Physical 100.

How good was Demian maia
He stood his ground in the competition when most of fighters were roided.

8-8.5 for sure
How good is MMA Grandmaster actually
If he didnt have to fly back and forth and deal with roided UFC fighters he would done far better. He had naturally good hands and was insanely good takedown skills from judo. It was shocking how many fighters would engage him standing up and get taken down like clockwork over and over and over again. People don't understand judo in MMA
Can he beat bjj
Koreans claim stungun was top6 welterweight in the world who is actually not on drugs. Basically they are saying if ufc was drug free he wouldve been a champ.
bro playing for an amateur soccer team right now
He lost against world class fighters. He did great all things considered.
Colby dominated him
Not good enough to have a video made about him.
"there are so many south koreans in the ufc now",they probably gonna be down 1 after what happened on saturday 😂
celebrated less as a hero than a comedian in S. korea lol
Remember watching this guy as a kid, never really understood why he was relegated to a gate keeper, he was exiting to watch.
