Not beg for money dear, she stated when u meet and greet the family. They throw a big party to meet each of the family members and the extended family and friends of the family , it would be a big feast though it doesn’t happen often. That’s the Filipino way to welcome and entertain a new comer .

The problem is Jen come over and meet a Filipina in bar then are having sex within the 1/2 hour. The man falls in love and when the girl starts gold digging and money grubbing the guys says ALL FILIPINAS ARE BAD ? 🤣 no. You don’t base all Filipinas/Thais on the bar girls

First time I met my Filipina girlfriend who is now my wife of five years she invited me to meet her family and relatives. I got surprised when she had a welcome party for me and had lots of foods and drinks. My girlfriend found out I loved seafoods and had lots of that cooked for me. I wanted to help pay for the foods and drinks but her and her family wouldn't let me since they said I was their guest. They treated me like a king then and they still do today. Many Filipinos want to get things from foreigners but her and her family are givers who are too shy to ask me for help even if they are struggling. I am very happy and willing to help them if I find out they have some problem especially if they have a health problem and need to see a doctor and get medicine. I was very lucky I met her because my previous girlfriends always asking me to buy lots of expensive things and go on expensive trips and expensive restaurants. My wife and her family were happy and excited if I took them to MacDonalds because they were poor and couldn't afford to go there.

I had lived in and out of the Philippines for 8 years now...I have seen this happen to many foreigners including myself when I first started coming to the Philippines...from what I have seen is alot of the Filipinos think foreigners are rich and expect you to spend money on the family unless they are upper class families....they don't realize that we have different cultures and westerners usually only deal with immediate family not extended ones..my advise is always take gifts to mom and dad and something to share with the immediate family..food and alcohol seems to be appreciated if in the province...be polite and get yourself a hotel close to her family.. So you and your Filipina can leave after a few hours..and visit depending upon your schedule.. Enjoy your visit but set your limits ...you do not have to be an ATM for people you will never see again..

I could have thrown a party for her family for $500 or I could have used the same $500 to create a "Free Library" for her entire village to enjoy for years. Hmmmm????....Which one did I choose??? I chose the Filipina who wanted me to create a library and a future for her people.

Wow a 500$ party? Thats one hell of a party. I think most i ever spent was 175$. And that included a 50-60 kilo live pig. Plus Videoke, tuba, and the works. I believe that was my 65th birthday.

My tradition is that I don't take extended family and their friends and neighbors out to eat and fancy resorts. Men need to start out the relationship the way they wanted to go the rest of their lives because if they start throwing money around in the beginning then it's going to be expected forever. Have the conversation with your Filipina and let her know that you don't mind occasionally doing something for her parents but also let her know that you don't like the idea that anything is expected of you. You want to help the parents or whoever else because you want to and not because you're expected dude to tradition. Two people coming together in a relationship needs to respect each other's cultures and find a happy middle ground.

I wholeheartedly disagree. There's nothing wrong with throwing a decent party, or taking the entire family to a resort. Why won't you? Most of us can afford it easily and isn't it a nice way to get acquainted with the extended family? I think it's a mindset that we have in the US - to penny-pinch when it comes to people who aren't wealthy. Look at our tax code - all the billionaires pay literally no tax while, I think most of us would agree, the rest of us "regular" folks pay fairly high tax. This is a fact and isn't my main point here - my main point is that do you see any of US getting bent out of shape and asking our representatives to correct that? Hell no! But if we ever get the sense that some "poor" guy got a break that we, the "regular" people, don't get - Lord have mercy! We'll raise a din. I think the same mentality is in play here. Spend money after "poor" people? You gotta be kidding! We love to oil the oily back. By the way, I personally have taken the entire extended family of my Filipina to a resort in Batangas for 3 nights: We rented a large transport van, rented two adjacent houses (each has several bedrooms and kitchen), and we had a blast. I am glad that I did it, and no, nobody took that as a sign of my "unlimited wealth" and started asking for help/loan/etc.

I think what a lot of Filipina fail to understand is that most foreign men are coming to the Philippines to retire. Their on a budget and not all foreign men are rich and I think expectations are way to high . We are generous for the most part but have already been taken advantage of by western women and will move on if they feel they are back in that situation. As you know foreigners can't own property in the Philippines so asking them to buy land and build a house is out of the question unless married and have proper prenuptial agreement. These are facts and hard truths that need to be expressed as we foreigners are coming for a better life in our retirement. Western countries are expensive to live in and the Philippines and other Asian countries offer more affordable living but if a man has to start supporting a Filipinas extended family then there is no point coming. What happens is the foreign men end up moving the Filipina to the other side of the country away from her family and will offer occasional visits but no more than that so to mitigate the constant berage of people with their hand out .

You realize that older men don't induce romantic love especially in younger ladies. Hot young dudes can get it anywhere and pay nothing because it's love (requires infatuation). So, it's either retirement (possibly cheaper than the West) you're going for. Or, it's about dating which means $$$. These poorer families are using their daughters to bring them money (a part of their culture). Their retirement plan is finding Western sucker(s) to pay the bills. Peace.

Since then, none of them expected me to pay for them. In fact, most of the time they won't even let me pay my share when I am out with my buddies having a beer. The family and friends treat me as kuya, tito, daddy or grampa depending on their ages. I am not seen as a puti with a wallet. I am family...

@@bobbruce4135 that is understandable as there isn't a social safety net there. It's the guys who choose to reside close to or in proximity to the family that get sucked dry . The Philippines is a big place with 7000 plus islands. All though not are inhabitable but still you can put distance away from them and still enjoy your retirement. The two island rule is real and I personally have no intention of living in a rural province when I can afford to live by the ocean in a higher class neighborhood. If she doesn't want to go that is her choice, more fish in the sea .

The power comes from having the knowledge of this and not letting the L word divert divert you from the facts . A marriage is just a contract and they get broken everyday but it's how you write the contract (prenuptial agreement)that matters. I almost got caught in that trap and I set her straight emediatly that what she thought was going to happen wasn't. I was polite but firm and I have no intention of becoming a welfare program.

Since I know it's not love (requires infatuation both ways) and refuse to be told I'm loved (I'm not delusional), I keep it purely transactional which means I refuse marriage (not love based). But, finding a hot holiday GF isn't easy with all the Only$imps sending money for nothing. Even in the pen-pan catalog days, most of the ladies had zero intention of marrying or being romantic with the foreign suckers that visited them, it was all to just ask for money or costly "dating" with their barkadas. Finding and negotiating a holiday romance in a luxury destination isn't easy and what I like doing. I can't tolerate living there full-time (I get nauseated around churches and babies). Any tips? Peace.

I think boundaries need to be set in any relationship. Good intensions can be interpreted for weakness and stupidity. If you can't be smart about your finances everywhere you travel to, then you will be that foolish foreigner who is broke in their retirement years with nothing to show for their hard work.

Well, seems crazy to have to foot the bill for the entire family, the extended family, the cousins, any friends they might have, and whoever else might be around. I would even venture to say that in most cultures, the visitor is often extended every courtesy. So, to ANY foreigner, this “tradition” may seem backwards. Thanks for the heads up.

Treating the whole family is nonsense, meeting a foreigner shouldn't be seen as Santa clause coming to town, that can only happen to some men that can't control their situation.

I am sorry: however, my Dad married my Filipina Mom and he said he went to the province where her whole family lives and they did have most of the families and friends to greet & welcomed him and had a party, and never in the 6 times he visited did he pay for what you called "expected to pay for every cent" and he thinks that the only time that he paid was when he volunteered and invited the family for a gathering but not the whole town but just the immediate families! I agree that helping out with the expenses is the right thing to do and you can't generalize your statement as if all Filipinos demand nor expect what you just said in your topic! Just to let you know my Dad was a USAF pilot during the Vietnam war & well off and my Mom was a seamstress and very poor and so is her family. She is dismayed and a little upset because not all Filipinos are with that unacceptable trait!

I am married to my Filipino wifey, and I did as a common courtesy take the family out to the Moon Café in Dumaguete, Philippines. It only costs me $22.50 in American money. It was an honor to spend the time with my family. The time together was worth more than the money spent. So, it is also important to understand what priority is most important. I have decided to invest in the future of our family, than to give our wealth away to others. We started 2 businesses, to support the family with jobs and continual income. We believe in the principle of teaching a man/woman how to fish. So that way we can live for a lifetime. Thanks for sharing this principle.

The FLEECING of a Foreigner! Precedence is set once a foreigner boyfriend pay the entire bill. This act will be expect of him in the future events. The family will think of him as Santa Clause. Since we talking about culture, I see the customs are different for a foreigner versus a local national. If you are invited to meet your girlfriends relatives, they are the host ... NOT the other way around. I always ask myself, "Would they do this, whatever it is (i.e. vacation) on their own peso?" The boyfriends needs to set BOUNDRYS and LIMITATIONS. We all have budgets! The family will also pressure the WIFE for money when the HAT is passed around. The only one paying is the HUSBAND. Do NOT be afraid to walkaway if your treated like an ATM.

My advice would always be, start as you mean to continue. Don’t throw lavish money parties for extended family or provide alcohol unless you expect to keep on doing it every time you visit. There will be enough other requests for money and family support in due course without all that as well.

As a person that dated 4 Filipino I have never heard of this and if I had to do all this when we first met I would of got the hell out of there. I did not even meet the family until the first week just me and her... One girl did try to get me to build her a house 🤣🤣🤣

Paying for a meet and greet meal for the entire family "initially" doesn't sound like a bad thing.... I personally wouldn't have a relationship with a Filipina who expected me to foot the bill every time we visited her family. I also wouldn't have a relationship with a Filipina who expected me to pay a monthly allowance to her family.... My ideal Filipina should have a decent job, and a family who have the means to take care of themselves..... The idea that I can take a goat, 2 chickens, and a handful of Peso in exchange for their daughter is cringe worthy.... Personally I`ve never been the type of person to pay for anyone's respect or affections... Just my humble opinion.

There are 2 sides to every coin. There are families both in the Province & the Cities that push their daughter's into a relationship with a Foreigner. Many use the potential Foreigner as the Families new ATM machine. Then there are other's that show restraint. It can get really bad with the onslaught of financial support requests. Especially when the family is obvisously living beyond their means. Ie: A family of 5 with a large house in an expensive area plus the fact they have 6 new cars. Plus you must beware of extended family members that expect for you to fork over the money to start a new business venture. Then the family trying to get you to buy land to build a house for your girlfriend so that she will have a place to live. Then you find out the cost of said land is 4 to 6 times the price per square meter than land offered by a Real Estate office not even 200 meters down the street. You must know when to say No and walk away.

Cause its a whole different world between the big cities and the isolated provinces. Since im not too into the night life i found a small island was the best fit for me. And most of the foreign guys I've met start out on the bigger cities. But eventually move on down to the more sedated life style. Have a good trip, and luck to you my friend. Im lucky i knew the family i got into for awhile. Her Dad Captain of big fishing boat. So pretty much free fish everyday. And are a very simple family. Don't want a big house or cars, etc. But i know some that expect you to give them the world yesterday. I guess I'm lucky in that regard. Have fun.

I would disagree with you, what you are describing is a foreigner being scammed. I have have dated numerous Filipinas and know of many married friends, but have never experienced this party requirement. In fact I notice how at parties Filipinos seem to be keen to show you that they don't need your money, and I had to insist of buying something for the parties, even if it was just a few crates of beer! I am sorry but a guy who falls for this 'pay for everything' is on the road to poverty.

Wow, if a girlfriend surprised me with a bill for 30 people I don't know at a resort or restaurant, she would not be getting another call or text from me. I'd walk out and leave right there. Also, if her father was a beggar and expected money out of me the first time we met, that would cancel my chances of ever starting a family with them.

I date and engaged to a wonderful Filipina I met last summer and have visited her twice now and about to make my third trip for Christmas. My first visit I took her and invited her mom on a 8 day 5 star trip to Cebu and happily paid everything. My second trip I stayed with her and her mom at her home and paid for all the food and utilities and happy to do so. Unfortunately her mom apparently didn't think I was doing enough since I wasn't also handing her over pesos in addition to everything else I was doing so she decided to go around town in the province and tell everyone that her daughters Foreigner bf was greedy which was the furthest thing from the truth. I am the least greedy person you would ever meet. Her and her daughter argued about this and her mom continued to call both of us greedy. We decided separate ourselves from the home and travel to give them space for a few days and I felt very uncomfortable. When I left to return back to the States her mom kicked her out of the house along with her four-year-old son with nowhere to go. I love the Philippines and I love the Philippines culture but some of this crap has to change. People should not expect something from other people just because they have more. I am the most giving person but when someone starts expecting something from me just because I have something that is too much. I now support my fiance and while I'm happy to do it it has caused a strain on a relationship all because her mother is a greedy person.

There is a Filipina living with her American husband in the USA and she tells of her family greeting her with 'What did you bring us?' rather than 'How are you?' or 'Good to see you! We missed you!'. She has basically abandoned her family as a result.

I truly understand the reasoning behind the family wanting to meet the foreigner and having a big party gathering. I also believe with the foreigner paying for the event its sets a precedent that the foreigner always pays and that could be a responsibility a foreigner may not want to keep forever.

They are mostly poor. 30-40$ goes a long way at gatherings. Chump change to an American. More than a lot of these people make in 5-7 days. The make about 5-6$ a day on the small island i live on. And work damn hard for that.

Hello maganda, nice video. I think the important thing on this subject to remember, is what you also mentioned - communication! Not all foreigners are rich and most certainly shouldn't be taken advantage of. But, I think most will be kind and generous (within reason) if shown respect and given proper communication for any expectations. Having friends and family come along on a first date is not normal for westerners. If a filipina would feel more comfortable having someone with them on a first date, I think this would be okay for any respectable foreigner, but with advance notice. I remember a foreigner vlogger mention he took a filipina on a first date and the whole family showed up without prior notice. To do that to someone is rude and might create an uncomfortable environment. As far as paying for a big party, why not, but within reason. Like I said, not all foreigners are rich, but communication is key!

My friend i live very well on SS, 1100 a month. But i live simple life. Have modern apartment in small town. 160$ a month. Includes everything. Unlimited wifi, air con cable tv. Hot running water. But i built for 1500$ a nippa house about 150 yards off the beach. When im bored with one i go to the other. But most people might not like this simple of a life.

As long as the Relationship is in a Balanced Equilibrium. Time with my Filipina Alone would be important to me personally.

Again when I went there...her brother in law borrowed a car and he and her sister took us everywhere the whole time so I had no problem paying for meals which were excellent btw. Not pricey but incredible food. It was a great time. I can't remember laughing so much in my whole life. Most of the time we feasted at her family's house. In the province. More food than I'm used to. Her family was surprised as they thought Americans were fussy about food etc. Arrogant etc. Bear in mind they are poor. But instantly when we met it was an instant connection. So much fun, laughter and love...how could anyone not love that. Six years later and I still get text messages from aunts, uncle's and lola's I've never even met yet. They are my family.

Exactly. Same here. I moved to the province, then met my GF. So know most of her family. Very comfortable.

I have a problem meeting the whole family first time I go out with a person!! 1. You really don't know the person (most likely) 2. It would be pretty uncomfortable 3. What if the relationship doesn't work out specially if you know it isn't going to work out at the very beginning. Might be some shame put on her cause it didn't work out!!! I guess I would prefer to meet a call center worker at a coffee shop while she is away from her family. Then maybe ask her out for a daytime meal out in public and a stroll on a public beach to get to know the person first!!! I would make it clear that a chaperone really wouldn't be needed cuz we are just gonna get a roadside snack and a little walk on the boardwalk in public view!!! No expectations just a bite to eat and a walk then decide if we wanted to maybe meet up again before we part ways for the day!!! No reason to bring the whole family in the mix for something that may or may not go anywhere after that!!! Just my thought on that one!!!

I think this tradition is also for the family to figure out what kind of a future husband you will be to their daughters, the family members are somewhat trying to study your character on how you go about greeting and respecting the mum, dad and elders too and lastly to see if you are financially stable to provide a comfortable life like food and necessities to your future wife to be. I had a close friend who experience these things with his girlfriend and revealed his experiences when he got there to marry his girlfriend who was basically a nice province girl. He was lucky and had lovely kids after 10 years still being married 👍🏻❤

Good topic. If she expects her family to go with to all places, she should make him aware that he is obligated to pay for everything before asking the family. Taking the family out once and awhile its ok, but there should also be limitations on who comes with. Once you do that all the time it will become expected.

You gotta be kidding. The first time I met my asawa's family in Davao many many years ago, they threw and paid for a party for the two of us. Since then, none of them expected me to pay for them. In fact, most of the time they won't even let me pay my share when I am out with my buddies having a beer. The family and friends treat me as kuya, tito, daddy or grampa depending on their ages. I am not seen as a puti with a wallet. I am family...

Ruebeauti you are correct with many of your comments. I wish your video/advice was around the first time I visited the Philippines back in 2015. My first Filipina GF and her family saw me as a walking ATM. Needless to say, I ended that relationship quickly. When I told her that I was spending too much money, she got mad at me and pouted the rest of my visit. The next Filipina I dated was the complete opposite, in fact, she and her family always wanted to pay whenever we went out. Both she and her family are awesome. She and I are still going strong some for years later. If one finds the right Filipina one has found the best woman in the world. Keep posting great videos!!!

I still remember during my first visit to the province to see my ex girlfriend to meet her family, we stayed at her house I gave her a couple of hundred pounds for expenses. I was very surprised how she handled money sparingly. She really kept tabs on how she spent. To me it wasn’t a big deal because I was on holiday but all to her credit I couldn’t fault her on how she handled cash.

Hello and a Happy Easter to you :) Another interesting topic and in most cases I agree with what you are saying , but on the other hand I have had friends that are living or doing long stays and they feel that they are been taken advantage off , every case is different of course. Many people who come on there trip are also on a budget and yes it is much cheaper to come and have a holiday in the Philippines for sure and if you take a family out best to go to a park or a beach resort and have a picnic that really does not cost that much , just don't go so somewhere like Vikings hahahaha . In all the yrs I have been coming only once did I get caught out not only did I have to pay for all the people I was ok for that but what I thought was wrong they ordered a very large take out to me that was taking advantage , but you live and learn. It is pressure coming from her friends and family, they want to see what you're worth. It doesn't happen in every family situation. I do take our family out to celebrate my birthday but my birthday is Philippines Independence Day. We have a couples night out but our time is for each other. A filipinas family will be happy knowing she is loved and cared for.

Here is what I know when you are to visit a filipino, When a filipino is expecting a visitor, They were the ones who prepares everything and pays for everything.. What this beautiful girl had said on this video about paying everything, "maybe" she got it wrong cause she didn't experienced it herself and she based it from what she had seen from others, what I know of about it is, it was the foreigner who "voluntarily" pays all the bill.. Cause Most of the foreigners who comes here in the philipppines are "more kind" than us filipinos.. We don't force someone to pay what we have consumed for ourselves, unless someone voluntarily does it.... If you're a filipino would you do this kind of thing or is that how you treat a visitor??? Edit: I Consider this video as a "false information" even though what this pretty girl had said on the last minute of this video was on point.. I still consider it as a " false information" because she is talking about a "whole country" without a strong/solid proof of what she's talking about.. Its not only for her but it's for everyone who is using a "country" a subject, to put a "lot" of effort on studying, observing, researching on a certain topic, to avoid spreading false information... Not all foreigners can afford to entertain an entire family. I know I couldn’t. I’m a poor foreigner.

100 to 500 usd is fine for a grand party - if the gal is in agreement. in that will come out of HER monthly budget- and if she wants you to send money home to her family that too is fine- if it comes out of her monthly budget for hair, nights out with friends etc

In my day (I am 76 and started visiting the Philippines in 1972 - Marshall Law) it was expected to have a suitable chaperone to attend the first dates, not the whole family! Nowadays I would still expect the "chaperone" (singular) to be a cousin for the first 2 or 3 dates. Meeting the rest of the family is for when you have decided that you will be serious.

There is no way I would pay for the entire family friends extended family neighbors and everything else to go out to eat at a restaurant not going to happen and my Filipina wouldn't expect me to do that and as far as loans borrowers not going to happen I've already told my Filipina I will not be her family's ATM nor should I have to be out of my girls five other siblings she is the only one helps her father out with food and money and she doesn't ask me for it

I really enjoyed when my wife did that when we lived in the Philippines. We would have the extended family come to our house, and she had plenty of hands to help prepare the food, and to clean up afterwards. I quite frankly wished she did it more often. She really only did it for my son's and daughters birthday, Christmas, Our Anniversary, and our birthdays. As we will move back when I retire, I have asked her to do it at least once a month, and she was happy with the suggestion.

My ex-filipina didnt tell me this so when i was visiting her family in the province for the first time, and we were all snacking and drinking beer in local hotel, I didn't realize I was footing the bill the next morning, lol :(

One of the common scams they usually do is bringing you to an expensive restaurant. Unknown to you, almost everyone there is a relative. You pay for everyone. They want to see how easy a $ucker you are to fleece in the future. It's never actual romantic love (only hot young dudes can create that) which is the part we often forget. Peace.

When I first met my gf family, there was no party but they did offer me food. Our first day out wasn’t too expensive either. I bought a couple of cooked chickens, some soft drinks, chips etc and we went to a waterfall for a picnic. Her dad dad a trike, so he drove, I gave him some money for gas. Her dad, her sister and her kids, my gf and me. It was a fun day out, and probably cost less than 50 dollars.

Normally when the daughter brings home her new boyfriend and potential husband. The family throws the party and everyone pitches in. The family covers the party because the boyfriend didn't invite everyone. This sort of "expectations" can really put off a lot of foreigners. They may feel like an ATM or taken advantage of. Of course the Filipina doesn't see it as a big deal. But in the boyfriend's eyes. He may see it as an ongoing thing forever. What's going to happen when the cash runs out or he needs to return to a normal daily life budget?? What then? Is he kicked to the side?? I'm also curious. Does this apply to any guy she brings home? Or just the foreigners? Me spending a $100 on a meal for several people on vacation isn't a big deal but it is a big deal for a local guy meeting the family. These girls meeting guys that are on their vacation have to realize. He is spending vacation money. That's probably not his daily life money. Most of us save up for a vacation. We spent freely because we budgeted for it. This expectations thing is a little one sided it seems.

@@Rubeauti I understand the custom. Just think it's very one sided. The locals should really try to understand that this custom can push a good man away. It would be the same in the US if the new boyfriend felt as if the girl's family was taking advantage of him. I will be visiting a friend in Nov. We're not romantically involved just close chat buddies. She is a dear friend and I'm comfortable covering the costs of going out for her and her kids. I already explained that I will be on a budget and her other family members are responsible for themselves. "Separate checks please" 😆 I wouldn't voice my opinion on this "make the foreigner pay for everything" situation. It's not my country, I just wouldn't get involved. Similar to a lady having children. One child might be acceptable and not a problem. 8 children can be a deal breaker. Taking responsibility for the entire family, including uncles and aunts and cousins and on and on, might be a deal breaker. Girls that are seriously attracted to foreign guys. Should really think about this custom and maybe change their expectations. Would benefit everyone involved. The guy might even feel better about OFFERING to help or cover some expenses. Just one guy's opinion.

One of the differences i could notice was that in US everybdody had his own car, and when we all went out to a restaurant or movies, beach, whatever, everybody used to go on ther own car. In Brazil as not everybody has a car, some go by bus, others by taxi and the one who had a car usually takes friends in the car. But according to this culture habit in Philippines, as you, i can't criticized to a point i will be rude, but for me it doesn't work, i will feel exploited and this feeling will spoiled my relationtship.

@@TheMarciolima1967 I was in the Philippines about 6 years ago to meet a girl. Typical story. Get her processed and brought her her. It didn't work out. Nevertheless, when I was there. I paid for most everything when we all went on an day trip. Her family covered the first night's dinner. All home cooked, all hand made. It was really nice. They never asked for anything but the new wife certainly did. The family was cool. The new wife wasn't. She was a fish out of water. Her whole world changed and she couldn't deal with it. She also wouldn't go home when the relationship failed. It's a long story. I think the Filipinas have a skewed impression of foreginers. Too much TV and fales rumors filling their heads with the wrong ideas.

Sadly to hear that!!! i believe and cultures, habits and all are different we may face problems, and bumps along the road, some people i know in my country call it "unven yoke" (translation from google) It can happen from one state to the other in the same country, now imagine from one country to other, western to eatern. It is like a relationship between people of different religion, different ethnicity a big age difference and so on. In fact, it varies from individual to individual, but the social and cultural habits of a group, a commonwealth or a nation that go through generations, may be a rock along the way, an obstacle.

@@Rubeauti Actually, paying for a family meet is not a bad thing. If a Filipino family excepts you, you will gain far more then any money you pay. I can not begin to count how many families welcome me into their home and treat me like a king. I will add for westerners reading here, be careful, sometimes a family will offer to you all the food they have. While you won’t notice there are family members secretly hoping you won’t eat all the food. So be grateful eat a little and make sure everyone else eats.

What you are saying now is absolutely wrong. it is certainly NOT mandatory to invite her family and extended family, if you give information than also do this in a honest way and not let the poor foreigner pay for the entire family that is really bola bola story. I am married for 12 years and lot of my friends are also married with a filipina but none of us had to do this! And, since you marry the girl does not say you marry her family. This sounds to me like gold digging and girls who doing this are using the guy as a walking ATM shame on them!

Interesting topic.....I'm a firm believer in showing respect to the parents so I would prefer to go out with her and just her parents on the first date. In the future once we've solidified our relationship then we could invite the rest of the family for a cookout. I have not been to the Philippines before but I plan to visit this October for two weeks to begin my research on whether or not your country is a good place for me to retire. What a way to receive the family orientation. It seems that the word "orientation" should be Tagalog due to it's complete expression of the experience

I have no problem as a foreigner paying for the entire family to have fun and a great time meeting for the first time, or additional gatherings in the near future. It’s important to me to have large family gatherings when ever possible. It’s one of the many things that has disappeared in the USA over the past several years. Maybe this is why the divorce rate in the US is around 50%. The Philippine culture has attracted me like a magnet and I’m so looking forward to moving there in October :-)

I love and admire the culture of the close-knit Filipino family. I would not want there to be an “ expectation” of paying full amounts to anyone……….my Filipina would be first……always. I believe I would feel more comfortable reserving the right to help family when I believed it was truly warranted and of my own…….and my Filipina’s, free will. She comes first……..every time. If I could reasonably help the family with a problem or pay for a celebration, that would be good, any expectation of a monthly allowance, per se, would make me uncomfortable. I was 60 when i first arrive. My GF 42. She cleaned me out. The girl I'm with now 23. Been with her 5 years. Wasn't looking for a young girl but its what i found. Curiously when i was leaving Washington state, my dr who was a Filipino, which I didn't know that, was from Manila. Told me dont get an older girl they know too many scams, go younger your better off. He was right.

I have noticed that a lot of Filipina Women are Single Mother's, for whatever reason. I mean a lot!! Being a Catholic dominate Society, why is it that these Women are having sex out of wedlock, and yes, some in wedlock? I don't believe that it is all the Male's Fault, as i hear many Filipina's single mother's explain that is the Reason, the man boyfriend left me. Where is the Filipina's women taking some responsibility for this. So, No I won't be Dating any... Single Mother's.. Separated Filipina's.. that claim to be Christian/Catholic. Maybe you have some thoughts about this? I am Listening. Thanks.. Single only.. No kids.. for me..

The single girl in our family with 2 kids, my wife's cousin. Her husband died last year of cancer. Not too many single mothers in our Barangay. And most don't stay single for long. As far as i know im the only American in our village. Altho over the last 6-7 years i see more foreign guys and a few girls. This a small island and litterly the road ends here.

Norske Norge They’re separated for different reasons , some had sex then got pregnant unplanned at young age . Another reason Most Filipinos are not educated in terms of family planning or birth control especially the one on the province who are poor . The majority are catholic that are against birth control though some who are more responsible use contraceptives Some men are just irresponsible but there are good men who takes care of their kids too And Sometimes Filipina women lie about the dad of the kids not supporting to get sympathy from men however there are men as I said that are irresponsible

If you are involved with any women in any country that has the expectations that you are now an ATM for any and all possible family/relatives/next door neighbors drop her like a the gold digger she is. She doesn’t love you her family doesn’t respect you they are just looking to use your hard earned $ for themselves. I can see there may be times that help is needed for emergencies or to make parents lives easier. Most bloggers have disapproved and told anyone not to do what this video is stating. There are wonderful caring women and families in the Philippines it’s just up to the person to make good choices.

Im lucky i had a nippa house on the beach, was here for over a year before i hooked up with a girl from the families i was already friends with. I kick in about 150$ a month in rice, pay electric bill. Medicine for the grandparents. I dont mind at all. Its roughly about the same as i pay for my apartment and all that goes with it. Some times it is a bit much. But mostly i find it money well spent. They work hard for very little. I like helping them. They take care of me, cause i take care of them

@@Rubeauti you seem like a nice person and I wish you the best on channel. My suggestion is to look at channel phillipena pea as a guide for longevity on KZread. A tradition is Easter or a special day for someone graduating school and you throw a party. Looking to get $ because you are in a relationship or having the perception that someone is needing to pay to be with you or have sex with you will lead to many bad outcomes. A commodity is something one buys like coke if you seem to be positioning your self like that you will get takers but when they get tired of coke they move on. All men have a degree of dog in them but to what degree is important. Dogs can be loyal, protective, loving and dependable they can also be something that wants to hump every leg they see. How you show yourself on video is what you will attract to you…wish ya the best. By the way you are the only one I have ever posted something about and don’t plan on doing this much. Hopefully my dreams will come true in the Philippines but they will be my dreams.

Here’s a funny story for you. My first visit to the Philippines was 2001. When I met my wife’s parents, I was staying at Duka Bay resort. I invited her parents for lunch the following day and 27 relatives turned up unannounced. I was surprised but I didn’t say anything and they all enjoyed themselves and we had a nice day. It was only later that I realised, that was the only meal they would have that day. Each one of them came to me and thanked me personally for the food and the lovely day. I was humbled by the experience and felt good that we could share it with them. Take care. Have a good day ❤️

Hiiii :) I learned this topic the hard way in 2011 when I met in Manila a girl I knew from the web for about 1 year. When I met her and her best friend, I was not aware of this kind of behaviour. We had a trip to Las Pinas (I wanted to see the only bamboo organ in the world) and Tagaytay (yes, hehe) all together and they both really treated me like a walking wallet and it was a really bad feeling. If I had known beforehand, I guess it would have been ok (After all, there were not big amounts and I was supposed to be the one who could afford to pay). But I was not aware, and in addition they were not giving me any notice before buying things or giving me all the bills. I also learned the "filipino time". I am a very ponctual guy and they were always late. The first day we met, they were 3h late and calling me every 15 minutes telling me they were arriving. But now I know :P Have a nice day (or night) ! :)

This is true. I just got back from meeting my wife and her family for the first time. Of course I was prepared because of watching videos like yours so I was not surprised about this custom. We had a great time.

im filipina and also have friend dont this thing ..when my ex foreigner went in the province with me ,i only ask my parents to cook one dish and thats all .. And never ever i allowed that all fmily well go somewhere and my husband will pay its a no no ... I remember one jeepney full of people even on the top is a bit full and there is one foreigner guy .(poor guy )

Generally Filipino people they are very humble good and trusted people in this world they are very nice people God bless all
