I'm looking to move to the Philippines (From Aus) with my Pinoy wife and kids. I do a lot of work online as a Freelancer doing VBA programming, spreadsheet assistance and bits of other stuff. But I do that as a second job, so my time in it is limited. I can easily make $500 a week in Aus freelancing in the afternoons, while still working my regular full time job. I'm planning to make this my full career in the Philippines and our budget allows me to do this by only making about 50% more - very achievable. I can also scale this up and potentially hire filipinos to do some more work. I'm also a qualified civil engineer in Aus - I'm interested to see what avenues might be available for me there. I'd love to hear more about what your guest, Marty said around 11:00 about tutoring math because I'm very good with math. We're going to be selling out home in Aus, paying the mortgage off, selling the cars, etc. We'll be left with around 17M php, so we can buy land and build and set ourselves up for a very long time. I'm so excited and we're just starting to make all of our plans to sort out passports, etc. Thanks for your content, I've been binge watching your channel over the last few days :). All very informative stuff

Hello @Snowy042 and thanks for your feedback and commentary! 🥰 I love your freelance plan! That will work for sure. I will ask Marty about how to go about finding the math tutoring work. I'm excited for and with you! It's a great adventure ahead of you, and if you're like me, you will love your life here. Where in the Philippines are you looking to settle?

Make sure you have all of the correct Visas to be able to work as a foreigner, and know all of the laws before hiring Filipinos. I would seek legal advice before doing any business to make sure you arent breaking any Philippines laws. Enjoy you're new life in the Philippines.

@@G5Philippines Hi G5, thanks for the response. We're looking in the pampanga area. My wife's family are there and we like the area. Sorting the registration of the kids births and passports, etc is all quite time consuming. But we are still on track and pushing for our goal! The end of the rat race is in sight

I always told to not invest in realestate, except in your home country. The laws in a foreign country can change at any moment. My buddies just rented out their house in their home country and the rent money pays for their rent abroad. The realtor charges them 10% of the rent check in California. That is my plan. My house went up 6 times in value from 2006-2012.
