The adaptive braking system ABR (Adaptive Brake) from Mercedes-Benz has a novel solution to reduce the stopping distance and alert the driver, improving the active safety of the vehicle. For this, the ABS / ESP control unit receives information from the wheel sensors, steering angle sensor, brake pedal position sensor, brake booster vacuum sensor and other systems via the CAN network.
