How Do I Know If I Need A Preamp on My Violin?
Музыка
One of the most common causes of bad amplified violin, viola, or cello tone is an impedance mismatch. The cure is a preamp (or buffered pedal). But how do I know if I need one?
Here's a quick demonstration of what an impedance mismatch sounds like so you'll know if you have one.

What an amazing difference in tone!
Based on the recommendations of the electric violin shop and other videos, I went with the Fishman Aura spectrum preamp and it sounds ridiculously amazing. I really like the sound Images that come with the software and when paired with the THR30ii it’s a really great set up.
You have one of those absolutely delectable looking "skull" EVs that I remember seeing online awhile back. It is in the lower right of the screen hanging on your 'wall of fame'. I was so taken with that thing when I ran across it (can't remember precisely when, last 5 years, or more...) I saved that website as an open window for months (then the PC doubtless crashed and that ended that fantasy. Lol). I have never had endless money. If I did, perhaps I would have a huge collection of the coolest electric fiddles on the wall of my store also. 😆
matur suksma.
Sold! So, which product(s) from your shop do you recommend?

@@ElectricViolinShop shows you how much I know. Apologies, just trying to get my head around all of the terminology
Is this the same for Electric upright Basses?
Hey Matt! You mentioned your helix here… how did you get to those settings in there? And are they the same settings you can get in a pod go?

They’re on the input block on the Helix. No idea if the PodGo offers the same setting. I just leave mine on AUTO.
I know I need a preamp for my standard acoustic violin with an Realist pickup. What preamp do you recomand for me?! Thank you!

You don't necessarily need a preamp. It all depends on what you're plugging into.
Just wonder if I can replace Yamaha SV250 control box with Fishman Aura to get a better sound?

Nope. But you can run from your control box into an Aura.
I thought I didn't need a preamp but now I'm second guessing myself a lot, do I need a preamp with the Aurora classic?

@@ElectricViolinShop I plug a boss WL-20L and the receiver is on my Yamaha THR-30II, sounds fine on the amp but when I plug the amp to my interface that's when the sound is a bit thin when I record on my DAW and I wonder what I'm doing wrong
Hey Matt is there any way you could do a video of a medley of some of your hot fiddle playing. Man You're a heck of a musician

@@ElectricViolinShop thanks , at home I have my Roland amp so I think I don’t need a preamp, when I play with my gigs in a band I plug into their system I don’t have any amp or monitor for myself so I might need a preamp I guess 🤔
