I was drinking quite a bit before my wife got cancer. When it came back after the radiation, I stopped because I couldn't chance being drunk if my wife needed me to help her if she needed me. Five years in November.

@@ChristianPaulson-Music Well, I am on day 5 today, cold turkey. Probably my 30th time trying to quit. But the reasons this time are black and white and it needs to be done. I have been disgusted by alcohol for years and I just couldn't take it anymore. That and I was up late on the worst hangover I have ever had and just said no more. It tastes like crap, hurts too much, takes my money and robs me of life. I feel that it is different this time. Something is different and I can tell. I will tell you I was begging God to get me through that night. This was a hangover from the day before mind you! I have been a Christian for most of my life but lying to myself and I just can't anymore.

I made a fair deal with myself concerning alcohol: I'll only drink again if I win a lottery jackpot as a single winner. The odds are extremely low and this is a piece of great news. If the hell exists, alcohol is the hell. There's nothing better than being sober. Shyness is no excuse for drinking alcohol.

But anyway i'll let y'all stay sober-curious, and remember to stay hydrated the next day..and i understand i shouldnt be pushy.... but please, by any means, just even try sobirety for a month, it will change your life

Who wouldn't desire to be resilient and looking new? Certainly, drinking is a great way to unwind and not something which everyone should cut 100% from their lifestyle, but, in Steffon Barkload's homepagw there's an approach that pretty much forces your head to repulse alcohol by simply thinking of it.

But from various sources he is in AA…. not sure why everyone refuses to get in AA. It asks u to take a whole no approach on life and most importantly asks you to stay well by adding a whole new dimension, helping others, which adds a sense of meaning that keeps u sober that other self focused recovery programs don’t do. From what I’ve seen, true alcoholics who have needed to be medically detoxed atleast once I tend to see only get sober through AA. Not saying that’s what people should do, but just putting it out there incase people haven’t been able to stay sober without it.

Without AA???? Ummmmm, you may want to listen to the conversation he had with Dax Shepard on the Armchair Expert. Not all "famous people" Bring up the fact they attend meetings.
