I'll be curious to see if they cook up a new score for the Dunk & Egg series. Those stories are so different tonally from the rest of GRRM's books that they definitely deserve some new tunes.

​@geekinwithJamesHancock I think they should use the same song but change up the instrumentation. Each Game of Thrones series could be specific to its own time period by emulating the different musical styles from our own history. The Dunk and Egg theme could be more of a lilting tune using flutes and pipes with drums and tambourine but using the same song.

I agree Ramin should have wrote a new theme or at least a variation. But I guess it’s their equivalent of the Star Wars crawl

People keep missing that Fire and Blood is written as a historical document with all the inaccuracy that comes with that , the series is what actually happens thus far more canon than the books . A fascinating approach

I know some folks were frustrated over too little happening after a 2 year wait, but as every fan of 'Fire & Blood' knows, there is some really savage shit right around the corner.

Agree about title changes and theme song. HOD always sets up future action well. Book Blood and Cheese scene was a little gross for TV but I think they handled it well. Heleana’s foreshadowing about “rats” was great. Good start.

I'm totally depraved and would not have minded a scene closer to the horror of the book, but at least they added that really disgusting sawing sound, lol.

I think that the theme song for Game of Thrones is a lot like the themes from the original Star Wars. It's another character in the story. So identifiable with that world it would be very dangerous to try a new theme. I think I understand why they used it though I can also understand wanting HotD to have its own identity.

It is probably too late to cook up a new theme for HotD, but perhaps they'll give us something fresh for the Dunk & Egg series they are filming right now.

Man only Game of Thrones can disturb in the way it does. Just brutal yet realistic, war doesn’t discriminate age

The good news is the book features a cornucopia of dragons unleashing bloody mayhem. If the show captures even a small fraction of those scenes, we're in for a wild ride.

With so many franchises in ruins these days, it is a genuine relief to have a cool fantasy to look forward to the rest of the summer.

Edited for grammar I understand complaints about changing things but I know a lot of people who didn’t read the books who almost quit this show because of Sunday night. I thought it was a good compromise. I really do enjoy the characters on both sides because the acting is so good. However, Team Black forever!

What happened to the maids baby? I thought that was the one killed….

I thought this episode was lack luster actually. I'm not a fan of that new intro. The way you felt about The Boys first three episodes of season four I feel a bit the same about this episode. Unrewarding. I do like the two actors that play Blood & Cheese. I'm going to do a second viewing. 20:40 - Yes, I believe so. I have a question. That northern montage of Creagon and picking stones from a sack. What's up with that? Is he a brother of the nights watch?

I need to rewatch that scene but I believe that scene was showing how 1 in 10 Northerners go to the Wall no matter if they are highborn or lowborn. And no worries if you find the show to be lackluster. I probably give the show a pass on many fronts in that it is one of the only franchises these days that is trying to do justice to the source material rather than destroy it.

Did anyone else notice the frames lagging? Was super annoying

I'm very curious to see where they will wrap up this show in after a few seasons. As I reread the book, it occurred to me that there is not a natural conclusion or off ramp for the show. The consequences and aftermath could be be interesting but perhaps too grim and depressing, lol.

I have my lazy zonked out moments with other shows but with shows I love I can't sit still.

it was alright, they butchered blood and cheese, took the heart out of one of the most shocking brutal episodes in all of game of thrones history. i mean there were dragons, but nothing really got me excited, after waiting 2 years, it was just like ... meh, ok

Totally fair. I'm just happy to have a show back in my life where they are trying to do justice to the source material rather than destroy it. I suspect that show will take its foot off the brakes over the next few episodes when Daemon goes after Harrenhal.

First time watching this show. I started with Season 2 Episode 1. I was kind of excited at first with the music. Then the first scene where the raven is traveling, I was like hell yeah. Then the kid on the horse just sucked my enthusiasm away. After that It just got worse and worse as none of the characters were interesting to me. At the end of the episode I found the child death scene to be horribly acted. Why wasn't the woman screaming bloody murder for help? Why did we have to walk into a sex scene? I thought this episode neared bad. It try's to be Game of Thrones but isn't as good or well-acted. My 2 cents. I will go away now.

House of the Dragon 🐉 where the consensus of America will never misconstrue “Are you Team Black or Team Green?” 😂 Between the two factions in this family feud or Civil War, Team Green is the fun, psychotic characters. A colleague and I try to diagnose Team Green around the water cooler: Aegon II narcissist, Aemond psychotic and antisocial personality, Sir Criston “Friend Zone” Cole definitely history of PTSD, Alicent major depressive disorder, Helena schizophrenia, Sir Larys Strong fetishistic disorder. Team Black is very one note. Rhaenerya created her own demons by losing her V card to Sir Criston, then banishing him to friend zone…followed by having multiple kids who look nothing like her and her husband….and she expected every one to fall in line? Alicent had to sleep with a man twice her age infected by leprosy. As Tony Stark said in Iron Man 3, “We create our own demons.” Daemon can’t stick to the script and a loose canon. Rhaenys is the wisest person in the room but every one keeps brushing her off. Sure she could have ended the line but the backlash would have ended the Targaryen line. A son for a son makes the whole realm blind with violence and hatred.

Excellent breakdown. I'm team black but Aemond is my kind of psychopath. I'm ready to see all the attack dogs break their chains and get after it. I have a feeling that this season will build up to the battle at Rook's Rest which would provide a devastating finale, but I suspect Ryan Condal will throw a few curve balls at us as well.

The Blood and Cheese Scene was Awfull imo. It was so unemotional and that she fled into the room where the Queen fcks around was SO Bad....it took everything out of the drama and the focus of that horrific Situation with the Boy. That was absolutely unnecessary to me. Otherwise i liked the First Episode. Emma brought tears in my eyes 😭😭😭

Absolutely. Between House of the Dragon and the DLC for Elden Ring, my appetite for fantasy is getting well and thoroughly satisfied.
