I can't believe Viserys weak ass really listened to Otto Hightower and essentially betrayed his brother and Rhaenyra. Daemon as Hand and married to Rhaenyra House Targaryen would've continued to thrive to unimaginable lengths.

The man loved his brother and quietly defended him at every turn. For Daemon, family was everything and he acted accordingly. He was also a DRAGON.

Girl what are people not getting??!?! 😭😭😭 characters are reflections to the humans around us, nobody is all good or all bad, and we all have justifications for the things we do. Now are those justifications always solid? No, lol, but that’s what makes us human? So why can’t people comprehend that Daemon is an extremely gray character and that’s what makes him so much fun. So dynamic and frustrating. Sometimes you’re rooting for him and sometimes you’re disappointed in him. That’s the point of fiction 😭😭😭 we have lost nuance

Daemon is the only one who realizes he exists in a fantasy world with Dragons. Like he's the literal blood of the Dragon with an ancient history that was superior to everyone around him😅. I can't be mad he actually realizes this and acts on it😂

The Lestat comparison was genius. Both characters knew how the world works and what their true nature is.

i love how daemon and rhaenera are both SO targaryen, they love speaking high valerian (i'm sorry i have no idea how to spell all the names), love the customs, traditions and are so comfortable in their own skin. I love daemon as a character, but.. i don't like it when he is rough with rhaenera and i am afraid of his "half mad" side. i adore rhaenera.

I guess you could say there's a lot of GRAY AREA when it comes to Daemon....and that's why we love him. Can't wait for the "juicy" coverage this Season! Awoooooo!

You are so right. Daemon is doing everything right and people keep not listening to him and nothing he does is being appreciated. And theyre all gonna pay for it and there's nothing he can do. I totally feel him.

Also I hate how people blame Rhaenyra because Daemon killed Vaemond Velaryon, like the guy just insulted his wife and is working with Otto. I think most of the fandom sees Team Green as just Alicent and forget that Alicent got there because Otto set her with Viserys.

Also, loved your comparison to Tyrion, never thought about them being similar before but I'm sure Tyrion would be happy to know he was comparable to the Ultimate Dragon.

I would argue Daemon restrained himself in so many respects. For example If you consider in the show and Fire and Blood Vol 1 Daemon is shown to have superior knowledge of Dragon eggs, hatching, bonding and piloting. He could have used the Goldcloaks to take control of the city at any moment then raise his own force with a host of dragon riders. Especially when House Velaryon was opposing the wishes of the King's Hand. really happy you are back Gray!

Thank to say that he is similar to Tyrion, because even tho I didn't see this comparison coming, Since the 1st time I saw Tyrion in Got, I was like "he is very cunning and can manipulate when he wants to, or be very upfront and confrontational, he definitely likes chaos" but I think people didn't see that because they saw the kind heart he had for people he thought were similar to him, like Bran being disable and John being a bastard.

I agree with you 100%, the show is making him seem way to evil and without any actual development. He is both good and evil, but it feels like it is more evil. I don’t think Jaime needs a redemption ark. The actor said Jaime sacrificed his honour to save king’s landing, he’s like Ned in a way, he did the right thing and doesn’t seek to redeem himself, they will both take their sacrifice to the grave, that’s real honor

It's also true that, in the book, Archmaester Gyldayn's narrative is written with a pro-Green slant, consistently favoring rumor/innuendo over fact-or vice versa-depending on which side it portrays in a better light. Show Daemon is still grey, but certainly a far clearer anti-hero in the show than in text.

The only person who can win it for team Black is Daemon. He does what needs to be done to win. Corlys helps but Daemon wins it Great video as always.

He is not my favorite Targaryen but he is fun to watch. Matt did a great job of bringing him to life. Otto was so afraid of Daemon being the next Maegor the Cruel, that he did not realize it was his grandson Aemond The Kin Slayer who was headed in that direction if given enough time.

From the very first book in the ASOIAF franchise George exposes a truth about this world with the Ned vs Cersei showdown, you can be a hero or you can be a winner but you can’t be both. Even Daenerys is coming to this conclusion in the books. I personally think Daemon was for the blacks what Alicent was for the greens. Otto might’ve been his enemy and Aemond was his military rival but Alicent was his match. She didn’t care that Rhaenyra was the heir, she married a king and she wasn’t going to let another bloodline step over her. She was prepared to start a war, butcher children and bathe in the blood of her enemies bc she was fighting for her legacy. Just like Daemon. And from everything critics have said that’s the Alicent & Daemon we’re getting this season and I cannot fucking wait. I truly think we’re in for one of the best seasons of tv in the Westeros universe and I cannot wait. Great video Gray! It’s good to have you back. 🙏🏾

People who argue about Daemon´s "moral" don´t realize it is all about the middle ages. A time with a different mind set. Was William the conqueror a Hero or a Villain? Great men are very complex and gray characters who dare to do what is needed to survive: "you win or you die".
