thank you for pointing out that rhaenerya and her dragon syrax are mourning their children. most people seemed to have missed that. also, it's interesting how the greens were so concerned about getting attacked from above that the didn't think about getting attacked from below. if you're in fear of your family being retaliated on, your home would be completely locked down to the point where you're becoming paranoid because you can't trust anyone, not knowing if they're an ally or not. we know in that world you do not need a dragon to kill someone and clearly, the greens have forgotten this. that's just pure negligence on their part. if there's anyone on team green that i do sympathize for it's helaena, even before the death of her child. maybe if they took her words seriously and not thought she was out of her mind, some things could've been avoided. yes, the drama this season is going to be messy. enjoyed your reaction!

Yes!! They definitely should’ve thought about getting attacked from all angles ESPECIALLY because Rhaenyra and Daemon grew up there and Daemon also had the gold cloaks still there!! They were thinking so small!! and yes poor Helaena 😭 my sweet girl!

To be fair, it's easy to say that in hindsight but in the moment how would you know what she meant. They could've just as easily interpreted that as "let's increase the amount of rat catchers" or a bunch of other ways.

@@vayne-he9yi They heard what she said in S1 about "the beast beneath the boards" (more than once) too and ignored it. Didn't put 2 and 2 together, especially since Helaena said it straight to Alicent's face, and then Rhaenys bursted from below in the dragon pit. Considering they could've died in that moment, I would've been thinking about what Helaena said afterwards. They knew she'd been having unusual dreams for years and didn't think much to really question it. Alicent should've since she knew Viserys did have unusual dreams like Helaena. If this were going on with my child, I'd have to question it or at least try to get them to talk about what they're saying/dreaming. In that world, you can't be entirely surprised by what she's saying since dragons do exist and we know some form of the supernatural exists. That's on them for not paying attention, listening, and questioning. At the same time, I guess I'm expecting too much since Alicent hears Aegon's name mentioned from Viserys talking in his sleep and interprets that to him needing to be king. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Still it was naive, negligent, and all out stupid on their part to not have the castle locked down when your family could be retaliated on. Just because you have the biggest dragon guarding, doesn't mean smaller critters can't maneuver its way through cracks and that's what happened.

The reason Aemond calls his mom "Alicent" is actually rlly interesting. I can't remember who said this (writer or director, but someone who works on the show) said that Alicent's relationship to her kids is at times closer to an older sister than a mother, because she's the same age as their oldest sibling, and she was so young when she had them, she lowkey "grew up" with her kids. This definitely helped me to understand the dynamic between Alicent and her children more so I thought I'd share.

Blood and cheese is definitely different in theory than actually seeing it. I felt similarly about Luke’s death. His character never really made an impact on me and I found Aemond more interesting as a character so while I felt bad for him, I wasn’t all that impacted by his death scene. But seeing Rhaenyra and everyone else grieve him, and having to take into account the effects of a life actually being lost shown in this season does make it hit harder.

Alicent and Criston Cole are such hypocrites and they had the nerve to judge Rhaenrya yet it’s obvious yall were messing around when viserys was sick too. Imagine alicent has a bastard child and it’s Daeron oh the irony.
