Amidst the corridors of power and political ambition, a ruthless congressman ascends to the highest echelons of authority, driven by his insatiable hunger for dominance and control. As he navigates the treacherous landscape of Washington, D.C., he forms alliances, manipulates relationships, and orchestrates intricate schemes to achieve his ambitions. But beneath the facade of his impeccable image lies a web of deceit, betrayal, and moral compromise. In this gripping tale of power and corruption, viewers are drawn into a world where the line between ally and adversary blurs, and where the pursuit of power comes at a staggering cost.

Welles, always a French cinema devotee, gets perhaps more from Peppard in this effort than any other big-screen product. And George has tipped hat to Belmondo with ‘zat certain Insouciance’ using ciggie as essential prop and lipping the square.

@@kimmccabe1422 No. Usually British means from the UK, and English means the language, at least in common usage today, and for a long time. Even when England was called England it was like that. The word English was only used to differentiate things, people, and language that came from England from the Scottish, Welsh, and Northern Irish ones. My mother was British and always referred to herself as such. Most especially in this context, the uploaders should have thought about that, because it's already very clear what the language is! If the title is written in English we assume the movie is in English, but some uploaders are not blessed with abundant intelligence. For a great many decades British movies were much better than American ones, so a lot of people do want to know if the movie is British, without having to click and waste time watching to find out. If the title says in English that the movie is British, we KNOW it's in English anyway, but we also get the more important point that it's British. This should not need to be explained to anyone, especially not the uploaders! But people who are stupid enough to think butchering films by cutting off both ends will save them from copyright strikes are not bright enough to see the obvious! I wouldn't expect casual viewers to give it any thought, so I mean no criticism of you at all, and I hope my poor writing didn't make it seem that I did intend to criticise you. I only meant to explain and maybe express some exasperation toward the uploaders that are supposed to think a little bit. I am getting quite frustrated lately, because every day I find another movie channel that is committing the sin of butchery on the films! And many also make the much lesser mistake regarding English vs British. The first of these 2 is annoying me more all the time. All the best to you! ✌🏼
