Omg I totally agree on the fact that the relationship between Ruhn and Day / Ithan and the oracle wolf was waaaaayyy more interesting and intriguing than Bryce and Hunt’s. I found myself wanting to read more of those POVs

the fact Bryce thought Rhys was Ruhn and that they’re essentially identical… and that Ruhns nickname was night in this book. I wonder how that will play out. And the fact the long lost star sword from ACOSF is Bryces star sword! And Nesta made the twin in ACOSF. So many connections. And that they mined salt in TOG for the demon kings and the way to summon demons in CC is through obsidian salt. They’re all so connected- what is happening.

azriel's the one who finds her (bc of the reference to the scarred hands and hazel eyes). i feel like amren's 7th asteri who "died" but maybe just left them bc they got too evil? also realizing the teleporting might have been winnowing? the autmn king and the high lord of the autumn court (beron?) have to be linked in some way! and 7 courts, 7 high lords, 7 princes of Hel? that seems a little too coincidental! i also think ToG is gonna link in; i feel like all the shifters from CC stem from the line of fae in ToG who could shapeshift like Rowan and Lysandra (also Tamlin can shift...maybe he stems from that line of fae too?). i can def see acotar and cc wrapping up with a huge KoA style battle where each book's FMC and their counterparts come together to defeat the asteri, etc? great vlog - glad the ending got you haha!

I started the book thinking I'm ready to read 700+ pages of smut about Bryce and Hunt but i can say sorry I can't. After a certain point I didn't care about Hunt ( I don't know how because i literally love him in the first book). The romance between them started to irritate me. Okay can some please talk to me about who day was because I loved it. I was more invested in day and ruhn than Bryce and hunt and when he didn't answer her it killed me. Especially since he said that he would want her no matter what and that even if she was the harpy he would get used to it or something like that. Also same with Baxian and Danika like that pairing seems so interesting with what we know about both of them. Also was anyone a little angry about how hypocritical Bryce and hunt would be about Baxian and even day. I mean I get they didn't have enough time to process who day was. But with Baxian I know he's done bad things but he told them that things changed, he did what he had to do and like I'm sure sandriel was just as evil and cruel to day or Baxian as they were to hunt or that they also had evil people in their lived who hurt the. At the very least they all have trauma and did things to survive. I just wish they were so "your a monster" when there literally being given evidence that there's more to the story and when they're are literally being saved by said "monster". But yeah I loved ruhn and day.

SPOILERS AHEAD I thought initially Day was Celestina up until the ball, and then when Ruhn saw the hind standing there i was like OH OKAY but wasnt sure if sjm was gonna really go there, because Day being the hind is So intensely double agent. Like damn her acting skills. I YELLED when lydia stepped in to save ruhn in the dungeons, revealing herself, and i was so bummed at him blocking her out. Like i get it, you’re processing, and yes she has done terrible things but there’s just so much at stake and more to her im sure, so i was just like cmonn ruhn

When they mentioned the male, It seemed so much like Ephraim, like it was forced and all… I was so excited that they were about to meet at the ball, and when they didn’t, I went a bit mad with frustration. I literally teared up when The Hind saved them!!! How perfect and unexpected!! I can’t believe he blocked her out though. She so desperately needed him and he didn’t answer. :( Honestly, Rhun is the only interesting person in this series, for me. (Maybe because Bryce said he’s like Rhys 😉) Yeah, but I love them so much, they seem like they need to work some things out before getting together, how nice. Can’t wait to see their journey in the next book!

I’m gonna be the old bat who actually wants hunt and Bryce to be end game 🙈 i like that we felt the mundane closeness and how they had each other’s back. Sometimes romance is t magical and grand it’s just a part of life. I don’t like that Bryce continues to be all “you can’t stop me alphahole” energy like that needs to chill cause all the guys around her would literally impale themselves for her so it’s like ma’m chill no one is trying to stop or use you in your inner circle. Bryce going back to her planet will be the plot of Az and Elain's book in ACOTAR, I'm 101% CERTAIN of it. I'm not sure how I feel about this crossover, but alas. I agree with what you said about nothing feeling high stakes and the plot being convoluted, there were so many things that had absolutely no reason to be in the story. I'm normally not a fantasy reader but the mystery aspect as well as it being a world that is a modern city as opposed to a middle age inspired kingdom drew me in. But before I read book 2 I'm interested in what you think: do I need to read the ACOTAR series (even though I have no interest in it whatsoever) to understand what's going on in the end of CC2 or are the ACOTAR characters and their world explained? I'm kinda afraid that, by deciding to read this series, I sooner or later have to read ACOTAR (and TOG?) as well, just to understand what's going on in the later CC books

the ending of the book barely touches on the ACOTAR series so it wouldn’t be confusing if you haven’t read ACOTAR.. i just don’t know how entertaining it’d be for a casual SJM reader since this book is massive fan service

I hated all the sex scenes in this book....i just skipped over them and didn't even read them after the first. Way too many and I'm just not a fan of Bryce and Hunt

I feel like I'm the only one but I literally HATED the ending. I didn't like ACOTAR so I'm really annoyed at the prospect of the next book completely being ACOTAR fan service. I thought the whole Asteri eating other worlds thing so stupid and weird. I don't know why Sophie wouldn't have at least one other person about it either. I also think its SO annoying that there is mates again in this story. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't someone say interspecies mating was very rare and somehow both Bryce and Ruhn have an interspecies mate....

I waited like a year to watch this video because i wanted to watch it after I finished the book, but i’ve been stuck reading the first 300 pages for a year now and i have officially DNF’d. I tried the audiobook along with reading physically but I just could not get into this story. I did go read the last chapter and it was pretty cool! But definitely not worth reading the whole thing in my opinion. I just don’t care about Bryce and Hunt at all man. Soozefest

I think sjm is terrible at her sexy talk…so cringe. I also feel she’s gotten more lazy with her writing and has been relying on a villain monologue too much…that being said…that ending made me so hype…

So glad I watched this before bothering to read it. Just wished I'd watched before buying the damn book 🙄 dropping this like a hot potato. Got no interest in anything to do with ACOTAR
