Hotel Skit Compilation 14

I hope you enjoy this compilation of Hotel Skits! Fun fact: the Mrs. Anderson skit was one of my first multi-part skits. Prior to that one, I'd never filmed a skit that was more than just a couple minutes. It was a fun challenge having several different looks and backgrounds for all the characters, but I absolutely love how it came out! 🥰
If you have a story of your experiences working at hotels, or just in customer service in general, please share it with me! I may even make a skit out of it! 😉

    Or it could be that the bed is just perfect. My husband had to have surgery in Gainesville, did not go as well as hoped...so I had to stay the night (we live in Tampa). Found a place and the bed was just perfect. In the morning, I checked out and went to see hubby. Husband was not discharged, went back and asked for the same room. I think they had allotted it to someone else, but since they hadn't arrived yet - and the front desk could see I was at my breaking point - they juggled things and gave me the room. Their kindness helped me a great deal during a very difficult time.

    I used to stay at the same motel one night every month. The first time I stayed there the bed killed my back. The next month the clerk took me to several empty rooms right next to each other and had me test the beds ... they had some new ones. One of those beds worked for my back much better so they always gave me that room even without me asking/insisting on it. Sometimes, it is not an "irrational attachment" to a certain room.

    It does make me wonder why one bed works very well and one bed works very badly. I would assume all beds are the same model, the mattresses are all at least similar. I am glad most of the hotels I have worked at do not sell alcohol. One of the hotels that did stopped selling alcohol at 10 pm, which is 2 hours before my shift for night audit started. I had someone check in at around 12:30 and want to buy a bottle of wine. I could not sell it because the hotel stopped selling alcohol at 10 pm. They went to the store and got 2 bottles of wine and made sure I knew it before I went to my room. The manager let me know they filed a complaint my next shift and thanked me for not going against hotel policy. They reminded the guest of the clearly posted hours on the beer and wine fridge. It is nice when management backs you up on their own policy.

I have complete sympathy for the hotel workers. 👍🤣 In my old age, I have discovered the fun & benefits of tipping the desk staff. Did so when checking into a big Vegas hotel for a business retreat (paid for by someone else) & found myself in a 60th floor room with a floor-to-ceiling window along one wall. I'd be interested if you gave a stories to recreate along those lines.

    We had a night auditor that went home and died on Friday morning (she was off on Fri and Sat nights). Sunday night, when she didn't show up for work, wheels started rolling. Evening shift called me. I went to the hotel. Evening shift, and I, started the audit. The Chief Engineer was the only one on speaking terms with her (she was a really mean old woman that had escaped Hungary during a Russian intervention in 1956). I called the Chief Engineer, who was on duty at the fire station (he was also a full time firefighter). He gave me her address (she had moved and not notified the hotel). I went to her house and found the lights on. I was trying her doors and windows when the Chief Engineer called me on my cellphone. He told me he would handle the house part of it, so I went back to the hotel. The Chief Engineer called me a half hour later. He found her in her bedroom, in a sitting up position next to her bed. He said, from the smell, that it was obvious that she had been dead for nearly 3 days. Since a niece, once removed, was her only living relative, the management group for the hotel covered the cost of her funeral (she had worked at the hotel for 33 years). The niece, and hotel staff, were the only ones at her funeral.

    "They like the room because it's far from the elevator." Meanwhile, I travel on government rates, and the only time someone questioned me being right next to the elevator (could also be the ice machine or service room) was this year, when they tried to downgrade me from a king to a double queen (the double queen was actually cheaper, I had made that decision when I booked!). At this point, I am immune to elevator, ice machine, and cart noise!

    I travel a lot too, when possible I like to use the same room in the same hotel and try to make a reservation to the same chair in the plane. Attached to it? Maybe, does make it feel a bit more “home” on the trips out. Am I enabled to that room or seat? No, of course not - in the end I’m just another guest for the hotel and airline. I also take sometimes cookies from home with me, better to be known in the hotel as that guy that did bring cookies instead of that AH that couldn’t stand he didn’t get his so loved room.

  • @JennaGetsCreative

    Although "You're in my room" Karen behaved very badly, the attachment to the room causing distress could be an autistic thing. We autistic women can mask it entirely until something trips us up, and something like being used to staying in the same room, in the same bed, and then being surprised that this won't be the case this time could be that trip up. My husband gets amused about how flustered I get (but behave myself!) when we go to the dollar store for candy on grocery day and my favourite isn't in stock.

  • @someonesomewhere9115

    @someonesomewhere9115

    Ай бұрын

    I also have autism and while I understand getting tripped up by small things, if Karen is able to travel alone she should know that that behavior is unacceptable. She should still be held accountable for her actions. Personally, if I had an attachment to a specific hotel room and I made a last-minute reservation, I would be mentally preparing to be put into a different room to minimize the stress if that happened.

  • @JennaGetsCreative

    @JennaGetsCreative

    Ай бұрын

    @@someonesomewhere9115 I did acknowledge that this particular Karen was out of bounds. My comment was for the "it happens all the time" sort of comment from Jessica's character, implying that guests regularly get flustered when they don't get a room they're used to. Not all of them are going to be Karens, but some of them may be visibly flustered and may ask once just to be sure. Those could be autistics like us. My comment was meant to be a "don't judge them for being flustered if they're polite about it."

    Yep. If I were a regular at a hotel and got my usual room changed, I'd absolutely be flustered even while trying to make it sound fun lol.

It turned out to be a bridal suite with one bed. This didn't work out well as we are both heterosexual men who preferred to not sleep in the same bed if other options were available. I informed the front desk of this. They didn't seem to have any options for us. I ended up sleeping in a chair. I don't think I will ever willingly stay at that hotel ever again.😢
