Good energy in this commentary. I actually enjoyed watching this movie, taking into account the very low expectations that the franchise had set. The plot was very forgettable though. I liked that the shapes of the Transformers were much more distinct than the Bayformers, and I liked that we finally got to see some of the Beast Wars characters, although it would have been nice if more than two of them had had literally anything to do in the movie. I grew up in the '90s, so I missed the '80s peak of the main Transformers toys and cartoons and hit right in the peak of the Beast Wars toys, and I thought they were really cool. So this was actually the first Transformers movie that got serious nostalgia points from me where I could point and be like, "Those are the toys I had!...and the ones I would have bought if I hadn't already spent all my money on Legos!"

So with the connection to GI Joe, are we now supposed to think the robo-corpse suit is the precursor to the Accelerator Suit in Rise of Cobra?

Lon Harris is the IRL Gwildor.

I did not see this movie in theaters and my nephew (who is 5) felt so betrayed that I did not see this movie or have no interest in it. His father loved the cartoon when he was a kid. Glad he got to pass down the love for robots that talk.

It’s really a sin that no one can make a good transformers, or GI Joe, movie.

This movie was absolute 80s vibes for G1 Transformers and GI Joe. The best vibes. Wait a minute, next week will be The Flash?

I thought the ending reveal was going to be for Sector 7 from the original Transformers film. Bumblebee and this one are sort of soft reboots/prequels, of the Michael Bay franchise. The Gi Joe reveal really kind of sucked me right out.

For me, touch on another form of transit and do Ski School 1, 2 and Ski Patrol.

The dozens of people that know those movies will LOVE that.

None of the robots are supposed to be made from car parts. They are advanced technology, can even be turned into a battlesuit for a human. Yet, they fix what little is left of Mirage by buying a bunch of car parts?

Do G.I. Joe the Movie! That's one that's from the 80's and y'all haven't done YET... c'mon now.

Am I the only one that really wants a transformers movie that is 100% transformers only, no humans and Dosent take place on earth.

Another bullet taken that I don't have to attempt to watch! Thank you Honest Trailers for letting me know how nothing has changed in the Transformers live action franchise since the first movie. They are ALL BAD! Yes, ALL of them. Including Bumblebee!

That tells me you are not in any way shape or form a Transformers fan. I'm not saying they were all works of art, but to say that Bumblebee was bad tells me that you couldn't get past the premise. Bumblebee was Great and They are being too harsh with Rise of the Beast.

Spencer's would be Ski School 2, when that one goes live, I'll know John has Lon and Spence trapped in the booth at gunpoint.

Robert Rodriguez Transformer!

Mirage was super annoying and the lack of Beast Wars character moments/transformations was extremely disappointing. I was done with this franchise like 4 movies ago and they dragged me back with the Dinobots, OG Cybertron looking battle scenes and Beast Wars but now they’ve really botched just about everything I love in the franchise and I’m over it. Since the first they’ve all just felt like the same sludge.

Oh God, the universe where Greta Gerwig only directs toy adaptations for the rest of her career really is the darkest dimension. I hope she just takes her Barbie money and then goes back to directing and acting in indi movies until they finally give her an Oscar.

@@heatheraggus7501 At least he basically makes high budget indi films and seems to be allowed to do pretty much whatever be wants. If she can do that I wouldn't be mad either. Maybe she can swing something like Nolan or Villeneuve where studios will just give her a ton of money to make whatever she wants and not get in her way.

@@heatheraggus7501 Oh you meant Villeneuve getting the Oscar, lol. Yeah that's also possible unless Dune 2 gets pushed to next year because of the strikes. I feel like this might be the "Let's finally give Nolan an Oscar" year though. If any of those 3 win I won't be mad though.

Just from what you showed, the girl really didn’t know that much more than you would expect from someone who took some history classes and also liked dinosaurs. Recognizing an Ankylosaurus is entry level dinosauring. The fact that she said it could be “Aztec or Incan” indicates she has only the barest knowledge of those civilizations. It’s like saying a character who thinks some artifact could be “Greek or Egyptian” sounds like an expert. She’s not exactly the Professor from Gilligan’s Island.

Idea for y’all: pause on honest-trailering recent movies until the writers and actors get the contracts that they want. Every time you make an episode for a recent movie, you are partially marketing for the studio and their execs. If the people who actually made these recent movies are not promoting, you can stand with them my not promoting them either. For now, you can work through your bottomless backlog of modern and classic movies that never got the HT treatment, and when the strikes resolve, you can come back to this summer’s movies and really let them have it.

I mean, Hypnotize was released in 1997… Sure, it’s a few years out but it’s not like “the most 2000s” song ever.
