Maybe the true problem is that they never take advantage of the dumbness proper. Like you said, Sci-ants was right there. And M.O.D.O.K. over-the-top appeal is reduced to a mask that hides a humpty dumpty that's boring otherwise.

Isn't that what he said, though? "Scie-ants." - receives blank stares - "...[spelled] with 'ants'?" ... - vague recognition on Scott's face so he spells it out - "...Ant-science." ...at least that's how I heard it the first time around. Had me chuckle. Now you say that wasn't what he said? I did not hear "science" the first time around...

Because the characters own solo movies and stories don't actually matter, it's all about conecting the whole phase in order to get a bigger marketing for these movies and force the audience to watch each one of them since there isn't a solo story. Why would they care about the friends of a character that ends up being a side character himself on the bigger picture of the interconnected universe?

House Of The Dragon, Mandalorian - all have been filmed on a volume. But somehow only MCU movies always look like an actor stands on a circular platform with everything happening around him with no connection. Imo, its because the VFX and even script are not set in stone. Everything is changing till the very last month. So actors can look shocked, or in awe, but they don't react to movement or glow. They know the react to meeting an alien, but probably don't know what exactly it looks like.

IMO the biggest thing missing from this movie is the "quantum" part. I mean, they're in subatomic world, and it seems not a single person on set tried to get creative incorporating any quantum phenomena like entanglement, matter spontaneous popping into and out of existence, people and things getting blurred into probability waves by uncertainty principle, and many more. It just felt like another planet. Scott replicated in one scene, but that wasn't really a quantum phenomena per se.

The Jonathan majors thing was a good point. If someone else (or multiple other people) played kang’s infinite selves they could just say “oh look this variant of kang is the real threat” and ignore Jonathan’s controversy. @@agustinfranco0 True; I’m not denying that. But the point was if all the Kang variants were played by different actors, then all they needed to do was recast and do a little hand wave in the script. The change basically writes itself in this case. But since Jonathan plays all of them, it’s going to be infinitely harder to explain a recasting should it occur. They’d have to explain why he looks and sounds different from the other Kangs, or why all of the Kangs look like a different actor now. Of course, they may not explain it, but since its multiple multiversal representations of the main villain rather than a single minor character (ie War-machine), it would be more noticeable and jarring. Does that make sense?
