Well I mean its comic/movie fiction logic. I interpreted the Quantum Realm as an entirely new universe. I think there's this common theory that if you shrink far enough, you'll find yourself in a "smaller" universe. Which could be interpreted the same if you somehow grow big enough you'll find yourself in another "bigger" universe. But I do prefer when the Quantum Realm wasn't full of life and was more of a mysterious limbo.

The first 15 mins of this movie summarises the current state of the MCU. Paul Lang is enjoying life, he is an celebrated author and is attending book signings. Whilst reading a particularly inspiring excerpt to a group of children he is contacted by the police. It turns out his 14yo daughter has been arrested. He quickly cuts the book signing short and rushes to the police station to be met by his insufferable, unapologetic daughter. She disrespects him repeatedly along with the police. On the way home he voices his displeasure and tells her not to be arrested again. He is then ganged up on by his daughter and gf. He is shamed for attempting to parent his own child, for ‘telling his daughter what to do’. When they arrive home they are enjoying pizza. Paul tries to get support from other family members who inform him that his daughter has been arrested before and that they never told him. Also that his daughter has been engaged in dangerous experiments behind his back. His thoughts and opinions dismissed and ridiculed. Wow, what fantastic messaging Disney! I have never witnessed such a thorough emasculation of a man in my life. It’s surprising Paul Langford isn’t suicidal. Is this really the kind of message you want to teach young women?

I completely agree, the Antman movies get worse and worse. I really liked the first movie, how it got creative when taking a character and shrinking him. I still remember him shrinking in the bathroom, running through door locks, and flying on Anthony. Such a wholesome and humorous movie. The Wasp was decent, but I honestly can't remember anything about it. Literally the only scene I can remember is the post credit scene, where they got snapped. Top Gun Maverick beating Black Panther and Infinity War at the worldwide box office and The Batman having a richer, original story than anything Marvel and Disney put out was the wake up call I needed to get away from Disney. Even Marcel the Shell and Bob's Burgers the Movie were sweeter than Turning Red or Strange World.

I heard in the next one she throws a 273 yard TD to Mahomes to win the Superbowl with 1 second left on the clock. The story covers how she beat him out in camp, and he switched to tight end because he wanted to play for such an inspiring leader. Evil whyte man, Tom Brady is the villain, but he has a redemption arc after the final siren, realising she is the REAL goat, and proclaiming her as such, publicly. She also cures cancer at half time by funnelling it ALL into Trump, then launching him into the sun.

Oh, come on. They did not need to homogenize Cassie into being another Ironheart or Ms. Marvel! At least Kamala Khan - Ms. Marvel had a positive, uniquely entertaining energy about her instead of Cassie acting like a discount Karli Morgenthau without the violent flag-smashing who preaches to the superheroes about helping homeless people. Girl bosses do not sell as well as Disney thinks they do, especially when they are this poorly developed and thought-out and cookie-cutter. You can not just scream "representation" and let that be the end of your efforts to write a smart female character whose only flaw is being too powerful or too insufferable. That is how HBOmax got itself stuck with 💩like Velma, when Warner Brothers Discovery was not wise enough to Batgirl it into oblivion like they did with Scoob! Holiday Haunt, Scooby-Doo and Krypto Too, and a whole bunch of other Scooby-Doo projects that WBD on a dime decided were just not worth the risk to sell on HBOmax...because they were too good to generate as many hate-watchers as Velma, even though there are plenty of positive Scooby-Doo fans who would gladly pay HBOmax good money to watch all of those things. Why the fork would WBD and HBOmax stake everything Scooby-Doo on Velma, this disrespectful, bizarro product of nothing but negative nostalgia? April 21, 2023, 12:03pm

One thing I am beginning to notice with more recent Marvel releases is that the threat continuously comes not from the villain itself but that the protagonists just makes a stupid mistake that puts him or her and the others all in jeopardy. All of this just boils down to simple fact that screenwriters can't think of anything narratively meaningful and so all they can do is to have the characters create a problem in order to have them solve it. Genius writing.

I remember reading a comment regarding Cassie, and how she could've been handled better than what we got in Ant-Man 3. Long story short, the person who wrote it described making her into a character dealing with severe abandonment issues, which would make sense given The Snap and what happened to Scott and most likely her mother & step-father. She thinly hides it under the guise of being your typical high school girl, who does well enough in school and talks about boys & social media stuff -- but underneath all of that, she's scared of losing Scott and is at times a bit clingy. I mean, I'd rather have abandonment issues & possible separation anxiety than the unrealistic, genius-savant, girl-boss activist in the film. Oh, and Emma Fuhrman should've been given an f-ing chance to prove herself!

It would have been better if Janet and Hank were researching the quantum realm, they recieve a distress call from Kang. They decide not to answer considering the risks. This gets a response from Scott who argues they should help. Cassie being the activist teen she is goes into the quantum realm with a stolen wasp suit. Scott and co realise this and go after her. They meet Kang who's ship is missing a mcguffin he needs to use his powers and ship. Kang tricks them into giving him the thing he needs. Then he proceeds to earth to cause destruction. Scott and co arrive and steals the mcguffin from Kang. Then Scott heroically sacrifices himself pushing Kang back into the quantum realm without the thing that gives him powers. Cassie, guilt ridden strives to be a hero in her father's place. How's that?

The weirdest part about the whole plot was... the plot. So you have this inter dimensional traveler who says that his other versions have joined forces to take over the multiverse, and that he was exiled from space and time because he sought to destroy the citadel of ricks. So like... this movie is basically about ant man stopping the only force capable of defending against a multiversal destruction. The entire time I was just completely confused as to how he was the bad guy or why they wanted to stop him. Literally the first introduction of him was him promising to never harm our main universe, so like... What the hell is this movie even about aside from ant man knowingly dooming all universes for no reason whatso ever... Well, I guess his daughter did say she was sad about some small quantum tribe have their resources taken away, so like, that weird D plot that the movie doesnt even remotely explore is worthy of destruction of all reality I guess.

@@jamesbizs Not saying he's a hero, but he defected from a united force of every other kang that are seeking to conquer ALL universes. The Kang in ant man straight up said he wouldn't destroy our universe, and he's an enemy of an immeasurably larger threat. He's not the good guy, but he's the only one with any ability whats so ever to defend against the army of Kangs seeking to destroying the entire multiverse. Now if the citadel of ricks wasn't something he explicitly warned about, then sure, destroy him, but the fact that he was exiled by the most powerful thing in existence and we know about that things plans, he's literally the only hope to ever possibly stop them. So yea, maybe not a hero, but he's certainly a weapon, the only weapon, so perhaps killing him is not the greatest idea.

If ant man had gotten trapped in the quantum realm due to him trying to keep Kang i’m there, that would have been less predictable than the happy ending we saw coming from the beginning. And it would have make us care for Cassie losing her father. Instead nothing of weight happens, no consequences nothing.

You hit the nail on the head when you said no one has their heart in it anymore. It’s so painfully obvious. At one point it was this glorious thing you could get excited about - you knew who everyone was, you knew something was coming, they brought everyone together for the first time in cinema history, they threw in a long game villain, they built the stakes, they delivered. It ended with End Game. That film was the culmination. The issue is Marvel doesn’t understand you don’t always want to be on holiday. You need time to miss it. They’re so scared people will forget about it or move on that they forgot quality ALWAYS wins out. Make something good and people will see it regardless of how much time has passed.

"They brought together for the first time in cinema history..." That's a slightly ignorant statement, no offense. Pretty sure a large base of the theater crowd revisted The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and would all stand up and sing together some of the songs in it. The original Star Wars trilogy garnered multiple revisits to the theater too and was an unforgettable banning together of fans who would cosplay just to go to those movies. In recent history, Endgame is about the only thing going on, but people are more reserved than they were in the 70s and 80s. A lot of the audience flare is toned down and mostly kept in private groups. There's no shabang that makes people burst out of their social bubbles to expound their excitement to all around them. Endgame had a lot going on in terms of expectation, but, socially-speaking, it's 'just a movie' a lot of people like.

One huge mistake I knew the writers would absolutely make is having Ant Man defeat Kang, even if temporary. Kang is supposed to be the next greatest threat rivaling or surpassing Thanos in scale. If Ant man can even slightly best, out-think, or outmaneuver Kang; it completely takes down his aura as a genuine threat. Imagine if during Captain America 2; Rogers and his crew had a small skirmish with Thanos and manages to get the best of him, even for only a moment, and temporally stops him. It would completely ruin his build-up, mystery, and proper strength of a villain worthy of this caliber. At BEST, Kang should have the Ant family running for their lives, with Kang completely immobilizing them just before the escape, and then deciding at the last moment to let the Ant family escape out of pity; like its his version of honoring the deal. This would keep Kang as a real threat, as he sees Ant Man as someone not even worth killing.

The main character of this film was the stronger smarter and all round better ant-mans daughter as i bet you she will be taking ant-mans spot soon and will be ant-women and even Kang in this film was so weak and crap and on Loki the villain is not scary or poses a threat really i guess if thanos and kang had a fight thanos will just kill him in seconds even with out the stones.

Absolutely true. I watched thirteen movies, up to Infinity/End Game. None after that. Why would I? It ended there. The infinity stones were present throughout as the heroes found their powers and fought the threats the stones created, until Thanos had them all and the final confrontation happened. It was wrapped all wrapped up. Just like I only watched the first Matrix movie. There was a guy who was hugely grateful for me seeing only the first one, because he wanted at least one person to be able to enjoy not having seen the rest.
