Edge of Tomorrow was great manga adaptation, but it's because the makers only adapt the concept and make their own story around it while staying true to the concept. Hollywood have the tendencies to ignore the source material and make their own concept and story.

  • @gregoryo4417

    @gregoryo4417

    @@potiguaya5201 Oh don't get me wrong, there have been good adaptations for manga and anime. There have been faithful ones by studios (Alita is probably the best example) and great adaptations that some don't even know about (There were actually two live action Dragon Ball movies before Evolution, and they were honestly pretty funny and good). I probably should have mentioned this and explained in more detail. What I mean is that anime and manga in their respective mediums work great, and animated movies and adaptations usually turn out alright if the fans want to see them brought to life. The problem is for every Alita, we get five Evolutions, and studios are still trying to figure it out now, since Cowboy Bebop isn't exactly doing all that well. The main issue is that Hollywood for the most part focusses on sales and figures rather than faithful adaptations, and there are hardly any companies other than Hollywood to try it and do it right anymore (remember those DB movies I mentioned earlier? They were made before the 2000s and at least one of them was illegal to produce due to not owning the rights, even if it was more accurate). Please forgive me for what I said, but what I am trying to say is that it is very, very rare that we will get anime movies that learn from the mistakes of the ones before in order to become great. And if Death Note 2 is still green lit and can be good on its own, I will send you a letter of apology. Sorry for all of that, have a great day.

    "Isn't it way cooler when a bunch of polygons smash into each other? No? Then why does it keep happening?!" I mean, idk they are okay... but I could watch martial arts all day, and if it's good actual martial arts without wires n stuff ahh man that stuff is just amazing I never get tired of watching it... so much information to analyze and follow and learn.

    true. it's such a breath of fresh air to watch a different style of fighting in the MCU.

    2:01 I’m surprised you didn’t include Odin in the “bad dads” category. I think he qualifies due to some of his actions.

    "Isn't it way cooler when a bunch of weightless polygons smash into each other? No? Then why does it keep happening?" The question I've been asking the entire MCU 🥲 Marvel third act phenomenon.

    I too am definitely tired of it. I feel the movie didn't need the big bad to be released, or the dragon to be awoken. It would have been fine, and probably better without.

    One thing I liked about the Eternals is the final battle: no faceless armies, no kaiju, just two powerful bosses to fight.

    Yeah because having Wenwu be a full villain and receive no redemption would definitely have been a way more fulfilling conclusion, especially since it’d mean Shang-Chi probably kills him, which goes against his entire arc.

    "Except the one about Asian dudes being the biggest sneakerheads" I taught in China for 3 years. The boys care more about their outfits, shoes included, than the girls do. Though they care about sports cars and basketball more.
