    I have ALWAYS stated that Africa Twin Adventure Sports with 19 inch front wheel would be perfect as it would make the handling better, the center of gravity lower and make the bike more approachable. It is great to see this change finally arrive!

    Yeah but it's too low now - I'll take the old ES 21 front thanks. Not to mention I think it looks silly with a 19 inch front, good to have other options out there for shorter people though.

    Thank you, a top review. Clear, no BS, to the point and considered. Absolutely love this style of review. Extremely helpful too. Thank you so much for putting the 'relatively low' 100hp situation into perspective too. I had no comprehension regarding the benefit to reliability of the lower compression ratio - although it completely stands to reason when pointed out! Thanks again and I think there's one of these in my future - DCT and fuss-free suspension for me😄. I'll be trading my 2014 Multistrada GT on the Honda. The Ducati has been WAY LESS than reliable and has deplorable quality for the ludicrous amount I paid for it. Fantastic bike, when it works but, very sadly, I can't rely on it . . .

    Hi there I really think your feedback could help me with a difficult decision I’m making. I’m 6 foot 2, 30 years old, and I’m deciding whether to buy a 2020-2023 model or a 2024. The 2020-2023 Africa size was what mainly drew me to; i liked its 21 wheel too because it inspired me to try off-road more and im sure I’ll like it, although I know that I will mostly drive it on tarmac. With the new model Honda threw me off because it’s actually what I think I’ll need out of this bike, maybe I’ll still be able to approach light off-road while maintaining a good handling on the road, but I’m afraid it is now too small for me or that the smaller front wheel will actually affect the use I could do of it off road in the long run. I don’t know that because I don’t have off-road experience. What model year do you think might suit me the best?

    I know it would be a niche market but I’d be interested in a 450cc mini Africa twin. I wouldn’t mind that it’ll be expensive in that category as it would be competing against the new CFmoto 450MT, the little Triumph Scrambler, the KTM390 and Svartpilen 401 etc. If it was well specked it could create its own market to riders like me who already have big bikes for that weekend blast but need a good everyday rider that is easy to commute on, which is light and manageable but yet capable enough to keep us engaged and have a little pride of ownership. A kind of grown up supermoto is what I’ve got in mind.

  • @brianhoward9217

    @brianhoward9217

    The Africa Twin has a 270 degree 'crossplane' twin cylinder motor. A beloved characteristic of these unique motors is the 'vibe'. They are self balancing and don't require large counter-balancers like a lot of other motors. The "vibrations" you felt are normal and something to be cherished. Aside from a BMW 6-cylinder and some inline fours you wont get a better balanced motorcycle engine, twin cylinder anyway.

    Depends on the kind of roads you ride on. Free open motorways then the Tiger makes sense as it has more power up top. If its tight twisty then Africa twin makes sense as you can power out of corners quicker as it has more bottom end torque. If you do both then Africa twin still makes a case as not everyone wants to do 140mph all day long. And the tiger has an annoying vibration that creeps up around the 5k rpm mark. I ride a 850GS here in India and its much more driveable than my friends Tiger 900 (his words not mine) on the sort of roads we have here. ..Cheers.

    I wonder if they’ve addressed 2 big issues with the 1100: 1. Frame corrosion - I’ve done 11k on mine and there are blisters in more places than I’d like on the frame. 2. Electronics. Honda extended the warranty on the 1100 screen/dash to 10 years because so many were glitchy. It would shut down/CarPlay wouldn’t work/screen would freeze/cruise would stop working. Also the weather seal around the USB is a dreadful design as it kinks the cable immediately after the plug. Very un-Honda. I get through cables every 6 months as they break internally.

    I really don't get this bike. If I wanted to save money and dont need 150+ hp id just get a transalp, and If I wanted a premium full size GT id there are so many choices with or without shaft drive for around the same price give or take...I'm no speed demon but 100hp on a heavy full sized flagship seems a little bit underwhelming, especially haveing the Transalp with the same performance

    @@nicksokolis6343I’d like to think that an overengineered big CC parallel twin is reliable but agreed, too pricey. You start adding on a few features and you’re at $17k / 18k… and honestly the 19in front on the Adventure Sports makes it a bit less appealing in my opinion, but some of the features it has are missing on the standard….
