Hey guys, today we have something special, we took this already fast 2018 Honda CRF450R and turned it into a fire breathing trail bike CRF450RX. I'm in the market to buy a new dirt bike I've never had my own but I have written plenty where I would be riding would be mostly heavily dense trails up and down mountains about 5'9 155 to 160 lb I do believe a 250 would be big enough for me my only question is I kind of would rather have the power and not need it then not had the power and need it so I'm really looking for somebody like you that knows your s*** and and that can help me make it the right decision on if I could be better off for the 250 or 450 thanks for your response

  • @dirtniron

    @dirtniron

    4 жыл бұрын

    450 is a lot of bike, personally I would buy 450 only if I am looking for a street legal dual sport dirt bike.. but that's just me.. it makes sense to have extra power when you need it, but keep in mind that you have extra weight and more bike all the time, so you need to know what kind of terrain you are going to do and decide if the heavy bike handicap would be big deal or not.. 250 can do a lot, if you can use it well it can pretty much do everything that 450 can.. unless you are pro and you run out of power.. do some research, ride your buddies bikes and see how it feels.. good luck Mark

    Biggest miss because CRF 450 notorious overheating COOLING FAN because its a trail bike. Vertex ECU would be better IMO because you can tailor your mapping more to your liking and tracks especially to get rid of the low rpm studder. And a high compression piston would also be perfect because your torque at low rpm would be smoother and toge with Vertex mapping tool even better. The best upgrade for this bike is rekluse and of course suspension.

    This is why when setting up your machine you need to increase not just power....but usable power...like you said you were no doubt slower on this thing because to you it was unusable power.....take a 40 something 300 xc and you'll crush it...but yeah I know what you mean.....you can have all the power you want if you can't use it....its actually a hindrance
