@@user-ck6kq8zl2i Came off on a roundabout in winter, I was doing about 35, slid for about 10m The bike came out better than me, it had a few scratches but nothing substantial I broke a few ribs and was in a little pain for a while but all good in the end, picking the thing up in the wet with broken ribs wasn't the best day of my life thought. Still ride it daily and love the bike.

Good idea! But these are different as the Africa 270 degrees shifted twin while the Madagascar is 180 degrees. First one simulates a 90 degree V-Twin using balancer shaft as a must while the small one compensate the piston movement itself, by each other.

After watching countless cb500x videos youre one of the 2 persons who shift gears perfectly, i noticed it because im doing the same technique, fast and flawles shifting.. and i would like to add that youre correct about adventure bike they are cruisers dual purpose, im sick of these youtubers complaining about power, how stupid they are if they want power get a sports bike a liter bike.. this cb500x is perfect in any way in his class.. btw i had 9 bikes before all honda.. im done with speeds pumping my heart out of my chest nah im happy to be alive its time to enjoy and explore hahaha, im eyeing on this one hopefully my 10th honda.. take care bro and pray before you ride, peace...

Good honest review-cheers mate. This may well be my next "adventure" bike. Hope it likes forest trails, some log hopping, beach riding etc. Looks like with some good tryes, a bash plate, bark busters, rear rack and spotlights, this could be a real "go most places" adventure bike. Nothing too hard-core, just exploring with a grin.

This looks like a great choice. It's nearly impossible to go wrong with a Honda. This model is certainly one of my five top picks I'm considering. It's been an age since owning a motorcycle. I have had big and fast models. At my riper age, I am ready for something easy and chilled to get the job. Along with the simple pleasures of a nice ride. I did notice as on past CB500X model years, there isn't a bash plate. I have seen others complain about this. I am surprised Honda hasn't gotten the message on this as they did on the other changes they made for 2019. I hope an aftermarket bash plate kit is or will be available. I enjoy your channel. Keep it up. Cheers mate!

I would still love to get a new future CB650X : same bike as great CB500X 2019 but with a 650cc engine, front inverted forks, bash plate, spoked wheels & traction control to change my CB500X 2017. A smaller Africa Twin 700cc would also be great. Cheers from Montreal. Maybe i will end by buying another CB500X in a few years 🤗; quality/price/fun/reliability/agility ... is unbeatable!

Just bought one of these - from Dobles - would recommend them - they gave me a great deal and great service. My last bike was an NC750 which I used every day for commuting. Have to say the CB500X is an absolute joy to ride compared to the NC. It's comfortable, light and easy to manoeuvre, and has all the power you need for an every day bike. Plus, it has an assist and slipper clutch, which makes changing gear on the daily commute an absolute doddle. Honda should sell large numbers of these - absolutely great bike.

@@Mrfish2015 I bought one of the last production models in 2018. I don't even have 80 miles on it and it's stripped for mods. There are so many good ole bikes out there. Blackbirds, ZZR's, etc. I was at the H-D dealer on my Ultra Classic and an older rider with a 2004 model was asking me how I liked the current touring bikes. (I like em a lot but there is too much gadgetry) The guy had 118,+++ on his. I see the MOCO came out with a stripped down Electra Glide, if I didn't have the Ultra I would have jumped on one of these.

Great review. You hit all the points that drive me towards a 500x. I have been looking at the older ones but after this I think I may save a bit longer and get the 2019. Thank you

Hey Mr Fish, thanks a lot for your lengthy review. I had already been gazing at the CB500X when I started riding a year and a half ago but then since I live in Costa Rica I picked an XR250 Tornado from Honda that is essentially a carbureted CRF250L (with a bigger tank, higher seat and ground clearance and a few other differences). Now I need to part ways with Yuki (she's Japanese, white and what thy call a mountain bike in Spanish, so I called her "Snow" in Japanese) as I am going to move to the US and it won;t be legal up there. So of course I am on the market for a new mount, and not too fast a bike: I want to be able to stop on a whim to take pictures. I guess your superb review just made the decision for me.

Love the bike, I have the 2020 model and it really is brilliant, however the wind buffeting is awful so I tried adjusting the screen to its two positions, still hopeless. I then bought a much lower screen off e bay, (2015 model) loads better, far quieter and lovely clean air rather than having your eyeballs rattled. Try it, you will be surprised. Spot on review Mr Fish

I think I'm convinced :) I'd rather be looking at the scenery than racing around on tour. Plus it's nearly 8k cheaper than the Tiger 900 rally pro with luggage. It would put a few £k in the kitty for a Sunday Triumph Bonnie too :) Nice review, it makes alot of sense.

Hi Mr. Fish, I love your comments on the bike it encouraged me to considered it over the fantastic Kawasaki Vuslcan S. Mainly because of my tight budget. I'm also looking at the Rebel 500. But not sure if she perform the same as the CB500X. Please would you inform me regarding how this bike perform on uphill ? is it struggling and get boring? Thank-you a lot in advance for the answer.

Thanks for the review! I was wondering when is this coming out in Manila Philippines?? Because, I think I would rather buy this than the old version (2018). How is the fuel consumption of the new 2019? I am planning to get this as my everyday commuter bike to work 16Kms from home to work.
