Thanks Samantha. New to your channel and only for the past few days have we decided to go for EHE having been a bit scared off it as we are not teachers. However our daughter is in year 9 and been miserable since year 8 with toxic friendships and schools who just want the kids to conform like little minions. She wanted to end her own life and we got much better caring support from our local EWMHS. Home education is what my daughter is asking for and since we agreed to give it a go a massive glow has appeared in our daughter’s face like there is hope ahead. The more we look into we see so many advantages to having tailored learning covering essentials like maths and science to cutting out fodder (RE languages etc) and even trying stuff she is interested in like business and psychology. I think schools are so outdated churning out the same old rubbish that most people will will never use in life whilst treating the children like drones. No wonder most kids (even those who are getting by) hate school. It’s little wonder their emotional and mental health is battered - no adult would put up with years doing a miserable job if they hated it, if they had any choice yet we expect kids to do it. They have their whole life to learn and the learning environment in sixth form college or work is so much better and less rigid and judgemental. Thanks again for the helpful vid.

Thank you this. Unfortunately our local authority are horrible (Portsmouth) and their main objective is to send all home educated kids back to school. We always have to fight and more often than not, go to court to fight for our children freedom. They won’t accept reports and demand to see work. I love watching your videos, as do my children xx

Can't you seek legal action and take them to court for Harassment.?

You don’t have to show your child’s work to anyone let alone the LA, it’s your child’s data. Keep everything by email when communicating with the LA. Take out a civil claim against them for harassment.

HI so im in yr 8 and i started homeschooling 2 days ago and my mom got me a few books, I used my science text book from school and im taking notes and answering a bunch of questions. I'm also doing a bunch of english quizzes online and im doing maths sheets and reading sheets (doing 2 or 3 pages everyday) do u think thats enough for a day, considering im only practicing for gcses and im being homeschooled for just a short time since im being bullied in my other skl. im gonna start writing a lot of stories aswell and making up my own lessons and going to tuition. what more can i do or is that enough ?

So I end up sending them.back to school. I dont know what to do even though i know school is not bringing out their full potential and also trying to indoctrinate them with things i do t agree with. Pls advise thanks again

That sounds like a really difficult situation. Every family and every person is different and we all need different things. On what to teach, we have lots of videos covering some of the different resources we use. That could be a helpful starting point for you. kzread.info/head/PLyjxaJadTUoWWrXh2KofU_ZfbXzfLjI3f Maybe you could watch some of these (perhaps even share them with your kids) to see what sorts of topics interest them? Hope you find a solution that works for you. Please feel free to ask any questions and we'll do our best to help! 💖

I wouldn't worry - we didn't hear anything for over a year after we deregistered. And - as we understand it, you're still within your rights to decline a home visit - pandemic or not :)

Hey - sorry for the delay in replying to you! One of the main ideas around our education journey is that learning never stops - whether you're 16, 36, 76 etc. GCSEs can be taken privately or with local collages - so there are options - but it's really down to you and your family to decide on the best route for you! 💖
