Thank you for sharing. It’s great to hear this perspective. Our daughter was CSA sept 20 and we decided to home Ed. The first year has been a rollercoaster of what should we be doing, what shouldn’t we be doing, what did we do at school, what don’t I want them to be doing. It’s very up and down but listening to your experience it’s reassuring to know that it has been different to what you expected x

Hi there, I so glad I found this channel!! I've been home educating since march 2020, and in september the school basically told us that we had to send them back or deregister!! As a bit of background info, I am a chronically ill disabled wheelchair Mum of 2. One is 8, presents with ADHD (possible asperger's) identifies as non binary. The other is 11 boy, presents with signs of being on the spectrum. They both hated school and couldn't cope, so home ed seemed like the best thing for them We really need to 'break in' to our local home ed community. No idea how!!☺👍

Home educated students can end up becoming experts in their chosen areas such as tech etc.

Hey, awesome content. I agree with all your points. I love point number 3 about finding your tribe, This was hard for me when I started as I didn't know many single mothers home educating at the time. I like number 5 too about burn out...gurrl this is a real thing! I still do a September year as a teacher I just couldn't get it out of my system lol. Im in my ninth final year of homeschooling and a lot has changed. New subscriber here!

An Exmoor and a New Forest now. I ride English classical but in a bitless bridle and total contact saddle. I just hack out and don't ride in a discipline. 🥰

How has it gone? Have you looked into the Montessori approach to writing and reading with real materials that you can DIY or print off? There's a set of videos Ashley from Hapa family did on the topics of Montessori at home overall and her older girl is around this age. She's really inspirational. The whole reason I'm going into home education is sue to a lack of Montessori aligned schools anywhere in our region. Ahaha had no idea home education was legal here in the uk. These channels are great so far.

I would love to homeschool but I'm not sure how I still work and do this.. he is 11... I work from home part time so would I still be able to whilst doing this. X

I could only speak for my situation anyway which will be very different to yours. Many home educators have working partners, or part time jobs coupled with childcare that takes older children. There are certain topics I don't answer questions on in detail just to keep boundaries between my private life and KZread. If you join my facebook group, I'd be happy to talk about it slightly more in a more private setting.
