Great job! I did a DIY screen in my old theater and didn't find it too difficult despite the fact it was a curved screen. This time the screen is a lot bigger, 185" vs 144" 2.4:1 and despite being flat, it didn't go well. The material I bought from Carl's Place (about $400+) was rolled up for months waiting for me to get to it and when I did, it had a mammatus cloud look to parts of it. Unfortunately I was not able to remove this with a hair dryer. I also had built an extruded aluminum frame as opposed to wood on my previous build and my method of attaching the material with spline proved to be more difficult than expected. Me and my big ideas! I should have kept it simple and used wood like yours and like my previous one. Anyway, I've got the Stewart now, it wasn't cheap but I do have connections and got both it and the JVC NZ8 wholesale. Still not cheap even then but I think it will be worth it in the end. I like your videos, I'm not into the videos done by the, "professionals" or home theater installation companies. I get more ideas for my theater watching videos like yours and Chris Chavis (KZread, "My Home Theater") than I get from those guys.

This is just my hobby. Professionally, I work as an electronics technician. Unfortunately, I am now stuck behind a desk managing the systems I used to work on.

Nice to see the videos are still coming :) & I'm glad you mentioned the HVAC thing, which I hadn't considered. Think I'll be installing some decent sized vents to provide paths of less resistance for the air to hopefully take rather than the screen!

Some will still go through the screen. My sides are completely open yet air still goes through, though it takes longer. Years ago I also had spandex on the side... When the HVAC turned on, I could see the struts behind the screen because the screen would be sucked I to them. My next video is supposed to be an LS12000 review... But my dealer still hasn't shipped (ordered end of May). So...

@@FamilyHomeTheater Good to know, I suppose if I found it to be an issue I could always try extending the ducting so the intake sticks out of the front of the screen wall to see if that helped. Look forward to the LS12000 review 👍

Great content again. I'm really thinking upgrading my 16,9 screen to 2.35. I do have epson eh tw7100 4k pixel shift. Was it worth doing 2.35? Planning about 130 screen 2.35 and I'm about sitting 2.9, 3m away from screen.

I really like it, and it's even easier to use now that I have an LS12000! I sit about 7.5 feet away from this screen which is "too close" bit it's all about what you like.

@@FamilyHomeTheater ok. I build my diy 16x9 screen last year with spandex following your channel. Thanks heaps. Now may change my 16x9 to 2.35 and just manually zoom out and in for correct content.

@@sergiobarrena6626 Thanks! It is coming... I just recently moved and am getting my new theater room all set up. Almost finished... I can do video of content but it's really hard to judge a projectors image based off video. Depending on how the video is shot a good projector can look bad and a bad one can be made to look good...
