Home surveillance camera shows officer lied on report when charging man with major crimes

A Lake Wales man, who could have been sent to prison for years based on the claims in a police report, was saved by a home surveillance camera. It showed he didn’t attack an officer, as claimed in the report.

Cops ARE civilians. They just act like they're not, and for some reason we treat them accordingly. We need to strip away their fake military ranks, and all the other crap that makes them feel, and apparently rightly so, that they're above the law. A police 'Sergeant' is just a supervisor...a fakeass 'Lieutenant' is just a middle manager.

I had an incident in Stamford Ct. wherein when I was with the arresting officers they were being very kind and telling me thank you for being so calm and obedient and that it would be good for me in my court appearance. However, when I met with my attorney before my appearance he had a copy of the police report and they had completely made up a whole different scenario painting me in a bad light. They were not present and my Lawyer told me not to mention it to the judge as it would not go over well. He told me that police there in Stamford always embellish their reports. Thankfully Stamford is a small town and my lawyer ultimately had been in practice there for over 20 years and he got my case dismissed rather easily. This type of police abuse is much more prevalent than beatings and killings. In most cases it brings the local Courthouse a ton of revenue from falsified police records making the victims pay more serious fines and higher court costs. Besides maybe a stiffer sentence for the victims as well. The corruption runs deep, way over our heads. This dude is lucky there are so many cameras around these days as he was almost a victim.

Police unions are a huge part of the issue. They protect "bad apples" by requiring tedious administrative hoops be jumped through before a cop can be punished or fired. It doesn't take an Einstein of a cop to read the protections in place and come to the accurate conclusion that they are free to do almost anything they like and the weight of belief is on their side. Without the video, the cops word that the man attacked him would have been believed, and that man would be in prison today for crimes he didn't commit, charged against him by a lying, dirty cop.

I remember a prosecutor who had hundreds of cases tossed for tampering and withholding evidence. The idea is that nobody in law enforcement is caught the first time or for their worst crime so their entire record is suspect. Remember "better 10 guilty men go free than one innocent punished"?
