You mentioned the red doors on the church and this is what I found...symbolizes the sacrificial blood of Christ that saves those who come to him. Red is also a reminder of the Passover and a sign of the Holy Spirit. Church doors began to be painted red as a way of remembering the ultimate sacrifice that others had made for their faith. the sacrificial blood of Christ that saves those who come to him. Mother looking especially gorgeous in this video 👀✨️.. and this video is so cozy. I always felt like virginia is more open with mountains while WV is more claustrophobic with their mountains and trees.. (at least for me)

My daddys people were from Troutdale. Daddy bought a place in Sugar Grove. An Aunt & Uncle lived out the street across from the Marathon. Grandaddy & daddy always said Dr. Pepper was created in Rural Retreat, then the Pharmacist moved to TX.

Come on Shane, learn to roll your 'R's'...😂😂😂😂 'Cabbage center of the world'...bet their Cole Slaw was outstanding. Or better yet, Slaw Dogs!! Yummmmmm!! My father passed in 2006 at 88yo (mom passed in 02 at 79yo) and he used his clothes line up till he passed. Ive still got the Clothes Basket and Clothes Pins. The piles are still up, but ive not hung clothes on the line in years. Im planning on ordering y'alls book directly. Is your home address on Lavinia Street in Bristol still a good address?? Thats the only address i had when i sent you the Weyanoke Coal and Coke Camp photograph to Shane. O. Winston Link took some of the last photos of the last of Norfolk and Western Steam Trains throughout the south.

I guess I'll have to get your book now to hear your story about Dr. Pepper. I remember the old drug store in Rural Retreat that had the "home of Dr. Pepper" sign on it. I was told it burned down many years ago. My knowledge of the story was the pharmacist, Dr. Pepper worked (or perhaps owned) the local drug store and the drink (not developed in VA) was named after him because of a family connection or something like that.
