    PLEASE Listen to Home Free : When a Man Loves a Woman, Austin gets the lead (the guy that you said has the best vocals). He sings in front of his woman (off camera) and you can tell his entire heart is in the song. It's AMAZING

    @@kellywilliams364 it does not take that many songs to understand homefree as a group. I never understand why people say that. Yes Mayday should never be the first song you listen to but once you hear the group a couple times you get the idea of what each person's role is. He has done a couple songs from home free already so if he wanted to do Mayday then I belive he would be ready for it.

    He had also reacted to Misty Mountain so you can count that as a song for homefree in my opinion so that is 4. Listen all I am saying is that you need 5 songs tops before listening to mayday not 10 or so some people suggest.

  • @Ingrid_Haendel

    @Ingrid_Haendel

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@jasonosterhoudt2745 it also depends a little on which songs they react to in the beginning. I agree that in his case the 5 songs may be enough as these songs showcased better which each member of the group is able to do. But that is not the case most of the times, that is why we came up with the 10 or so songs before reacting to Mayday. Suppose a reactor has these 5 songs as reaction in the beginning: American Pie, I Swear, On The Road Again, Diamond Dreams, Moonshine (just as example) - I don't think it would work then..

    You want Bass? Geoff Castellucci from Voiceplay with either Blackbird, 16 tons or Take me Home Country Roads and your sub-woofers will be whimpering and the next one form Home Free, possibly either Ring of Fire on The Sing Off with AVi from Pentatonix or their cover of Man of Constant Sorrows

    Like nearly everything they cover, Home Free did a remarkable job with this. They took some fun liberties with it too, as Cash himself often did on covers he performed. And, let’s face it, all of them are putting their own twist on Shel Silverstein’s original poem. I really enjoy your channel, Mr. Boyd. It’s a calm and thoughtful place. An interesting refuge in our times, from our times. It also validates much of my youth as I knew many of these songs were legendary after hearing them once or twice, as you are apt to do. I have not seen you ‘phone one in’ yet and I expect I won’t. Thank you.

    I've seen Home Free in concert twice now(and watched a few interviews) and while many people wouldn't believe it, in the beginning of his first lead here, Tim Foust(aka the bassy bass) is actually singing at a octave slightly ABOVE his normal speaking voice. The result of him being such a naturally deep bass is very clear vocals right down to the edge of the sub-sonic range.

    Home Free has an extensive catalog and in almost every genre of music you can think of (I keep waiting for them to do Mozart or Verdi--sadly, they haven't yet, but I know they'd kill it). You can hear very serious to very fun. How Great Thou Art is spectacular and was shot in the Austrian Alps. The vocals and the scenery are both "out of this world". On the fun side, their Sea Shanty Medley rocks, as does "Never Gonna Give You Up". As an older person, I just enjoy "Never Gonna Give You Up" and their homage to the 1980's, although to fully enjoy this song, I recommend you watch the original music video by Rick Astley. You REALLY enjoy Home Free's cover then. Home Free fans call themselves "Home Fries" and I admit to being a Home Fry that doesn't even like country music (but Home Free makes it so good I can't help but love it).

    This son was first recorded by Johnny Cash. ALL the sounds performed by Home Free were reminiscencent of trains, from the wail of Austin to the clack-clack of the beat-boxer Adam, to the inharmonic harmony of the train whistle/horn. Listen to the song again and concentrate on the TRAIN SOUNDS that they all produce. AMAZING!!

    Loved your picking out the high tenor (Austin) and tenor harmonies (Rob) as your favorites. They lead in so many HF songs. Then you work down the scale to Chance (Baritone/Base) and Tim (base - most of the time, though he has a 5 Octave range and can sing quite beautifully as a a tenor). And of course the beat boxer Adam. What makes them so appealing is their ability to harmonize: try out their cover of Helplessly Hoping by Crosby, Stills and Nash.

    They are all right at or above 6'2" tall. Those were just for Effect. They each filmed their parts separately then their producer put it all together and wallah

    They are actually all 6'1 to 6'4, they had to put up their own backgrounds and they have a sense of humor, they were singing from their closets during "the times" and were separated in their homes, but still making the great music.

    No, and that other guy isn't 5'1" either. This is a Johnny Cash number, btw. That's the same guy who was singing bass on Misty Mountains.
