Thank you for taking the time to review the fiddlershop series of violins. They define the difference in quality of material used which others don't always do, instead they just say quality will depend on taste, Wich makes it so confusing. But that's likely because I'm still a beginner.

What are your thoughts on Budapest lutherie violins and Ming Jiang Zhu (900s+) violins? Also should I buy an outfit or just a violin? I've been looking to upgrade but I'm a little tight on cash. Thank you!

Hello Alison, I was wondering : did you make a review video about your antique violin ? If not I would really like to get this kind of video with your antique. I think that might be a good subject for those who are looking into the antique ones.

I have sort of done snippets here and there, but not an actual review as it seems possibly pointless as it cant be bought. I dont really know anything about it as I had it looked at and valused a few years ago by Amati in London and we didnt know a lot about who made it, only where it came from.

I'm really curious how their voices will age. Old violins were usually made a little thicker and needed to be played in to open up and their tones improved with age. My suspicion is that these new violins are made thinner so they immediately sound good but the problem is, over time, the thinner plates don't age well, sound wise.

A random thing, but would you try Halo Sports 2 headphone and maybe make a review video on it? As, it claims to make learning new skill/ piece 45% faster and they also have research to back it up, and also a dedicated violin video to show that it works, but definately it would be biased, but if you do a review it would be really useful. Thanking you!!

I have a symphony violin and a workshop stardavarious Soil violin ( they cost 2,600USD now). The symphony has a nice dark and loud sound, and it's super easy to play. I would recommend it for the price. And it comes with an Outfit for 1,200USD. I personally like the symphony more than the bench violin. But my next violin us definitely going to be a bench cannone

@@elbeefo748 thanks for your info. ,but I’m wondering should i save more money and weight so i can buy the traditional cannone or the symphony is good enough and it’s not a big deference ! P.s.: The symphony violin costs now 1,319 usd , whereas if I bought the cannone plus the bow and accessories it will cost more than 2,000 usd

@@jo.a7189 i would be happy to send my symphony violin so that Alyson can review it, just don't know who to do that. I really think it's a grate violin to get if your not ready to spend 2,000 or more. But I will likely be trading it in for a workshop cannone next year, not because of sound quality, but because of the history of the cannone. But I will say that fiddlershop violins have a consistent quality, so it doesn't matter which one you get, you won't be disappointed.

@@TheOnlineViolinTutor I'm going to look into a one time upgrade then. As I bought a standard student violin recently. So the stick will have to be perfect for me. I will carefully choose at some point in the near future.

Hi! I’m in all county orchestra. I hope you read this because I need help. I’m in middle school and my orchestra teachers aren’t the best, I learn Violin self thought with perfect pitch. So all I’m saying is that, please make a tutorial for daily vibrato exercises and the same for switching from 1st to 2nd position. If you can, try to make song tutorials. I’m trying to play Day of Wrath, II Re Pastore, and Fantasia on Greensleeves.

Fourteen years ago I was so good that I was asked to play in the local symphony. I passed on it because I had stage fright. Then life got in the way and I stopped playing. November 2018 I had an urge to play. I found out I needed my violin restrung and needed some other parts. $200 later and I am ready to rock. I moved that bow like never before. Back and forth. Back and forth and it wasn't long before the police kicked down the door and arrested me for murder. So I decided to watch these videos. I followed the steps and then, the cops came back and arrested me again. I sucked up my pride and went to a local tutor. She put the stickers on my violin neck and then when I brought down the bow... it was music. She taught me a million things in my short sessions and it was because of her that when I came back to this channel it all made sense. I just needed someone to hold my hand in person for a short time to refresh my memory. I had to start from scratch...

Old retired guy that is using a student Hermet Shartel HD903 handcrafted in Romania. Not bad for a student fiddle. I started basic bowing and it was doing the Electric Slide all over the strings LOL. Getting better each day and watching Alison's videos.
