Ben Affleck and Diane Lane starred together in Hollywoodland (2006). Affleck played George Reeves, one of the earliest actors to portray Superman, and Lane played Reeves' lover. In other words, Affleck went from playing Superman to Batman, while Lane went from playing Superman's girlfriend to playing his mother in Bvs.

I think that’s why this film did not do better. The trailer implies this is based on Reeves’ life and it really is not. It’s half about his mysterious death and half about this detective.

Here's some advice to George Reeves from Jack Larson: "You are blessed in life if you can give people pleasure and happiness, you don't really know the value of what you're doing. So, you had better do your best with whatever is at hand. You never know what will outlive you."

I felt this movie was poorly done. I felt the movie didn't accurately portray the actual story. There was more than 1 detective investigating. Also from Faster Than A Speeding Bullet (the book) and many other sources, George and his mother was estranged. His mother lied to him about his real birth date, and who his biological father was. The movie portrayed his mother to be nice a bit eccentric. Despite the problems I am not 100% sure, George's mother was supporting him financially. A lot of unsolved hubbub but the one positive thing in the movie is the ending where there are 3 possible scenarios as to what actually happened that night. I do not feel either Toni Mannix or Leonore Lemmon murdered or in Toni's case, had anything to do with the murder,,,and I do mean murder: I don't believe it was suiciide. The reports state the police were not called for about 45 minutes. I feel there may have been more than one person in George's bedroom that night. There is no way in or out of that bedroom except the staircase in front of the house aka the doorway if you will...since that is the case that was the only way anyone could get in or out. Or from what it looked like that is what it seemed aka Hollywoodland...If that is the case whoever was in the bedroom had only one way in and one way out. (Speculation on my part) Since that is the case, I feel whoever did this and feel it was more than one person, they had to come down that staircase. The murderers confronted the guests at gunpoint and threatened them. Why else could there have been a 45 minute wait to call the police? It is speculated that for some reason Leonore did it but by accident, but then there is the fact that people state she was downstairs with the guests. Leonore was quoted as saying George opened a drawer where the gun was hidden. Took it out, and was going to shoot himself. If she was downstairs saying this then obviously she wasn't upstairs. But what would prompt her to say this if it actually happened? It doesn't seem as if Leonore was upstairs as George said he was going to go upstairs to sleep. If Leonore went upstairs as well, why would all those people stay in the house, as the two were the hosts? But regardless that rules out Leonore had murdered George. I feel Eddie set it up...he purchased the house Leonore and George were in for Toni. Toni gifted the house to George. George dumped Toni, and Leonore moved in. The 2 were supposedly engaged and planning to wed in 3 days supposedly. It doesn't seem likely Leonore would want her future husband dead? If this was set up with Eddie, I do not believe Toni knew...simply because of the argument the 2 had (aka Hollywoodland) and the rumors that Toni threatened to start There is a saying Love is blind. Toni was an astute socialite before marrying Eddie. She was a professional dancer and one of the Ziegfield Follies dancers. I am not sure if it was one dancer or all but it was known that the legs of the dancer(s) were insured for one million dollars. Leonore was also an astute socialite and a member of The Cafe Society. I think it is an injustice to Leonore to have the public believe she was a golddigger after George's money. Toni was well liked by the other performers in The Adventures of Superman. Both were active participants in helping out charities. Toni was good friends with Phyliss Coates, as in one of the books Toni would treat Phylis to have massages by professional masseurs. I know Jack Larson and she had a good repoire. What anyone felt or thought about Leonore Lemmon I haven't the slightest, though I believe Jack Larson did not care for Leonore.. This is a factual real life mystery story that will never be resolved.

Eloise Ockert... But why the 2 bullet 🕳 in the floor where Mr Reeves was sitting on the edge of the bed where allegedly shot himself. The party downstairs only heard a single gunshot so they say. Was there someone else in the room with him ? Was the killer if there was another person present Clever enough to discharge 2 rounds in the floor to the throw investigators off. Or was Mr Reeves so wasted that he let off 2 rounds in the floor before turning the Gun on himself. Was there a struggle with him and someone from the social gathering downstairs the whole thing is a Tragic and Sad mystery that leaves you puzzled 😕 But it’s definitely only 2 reasons for his unfortunate and untimely death... Either Mr Reeves was upset about not getting the Acting Gigs he really desired or it had something to with the Affair. Me personally I believe that there was Foul Play involved or at least that’s what I want to believe. In 1959 the 🌎 didn’t have the resources for people who have suicidal thoughts that we today so a suicide you can’t completely rule out either.

Toni was having an affair with Eddie in the 30s. He and his wife Berniece were Catholic and didn't believe in divorce however Betty filed in late 1937 citing physical abuse and adultery. Making it clear that Eddie was alone in those beliefs. It was never finalized because she died in a car accident in Nov 1937. Toni moved in with Eddie that same year but they didn't get married until 1951, the same year she started a side relationship with Reeves before he became Superman. Reeves had divorced his wife of 10 years in 1950 so there may be some overlap between those. Reeves broke up with Toni in 1959 and was scheduled to marry Leonore but was killed (yup I think so) 3 days prior to the wedding. Is it possible that Toni told Eddie she wanted a divorce to stop Reeves from marrying Leonore? We know he didn't like divorces but 2 dead wives in freak accidents would have looks pretty suspicious. Eddie was in a wheelchair in 59 from heart attacks so he couldn't have done it himself. He had connections and dirt on tons of people. Apparently Toni never recovered from Reeves's death and made shrines to him while still married to Eddie before he died.

@@SunZu007 I've heard that supposedly they fire warning shots to see if they can actually do it. This was the excuse the police gave us when a friend died allegedly by suicide upstairs by himself but there were 2 shots additional shots that no one heard. House full of people... sounds like a struggle to me but we have no proof. I can't believe how similar this is! Either that is something that happens in suicides or this is the story people tell when they hear a gun fight going on upstairs.
