I’m 6th generation apostolic & 3rd generation PK, I always become defensive when holiness is brought up because it is often slanted, unfairly, towards women. I’m grateful for the way Bro. Woodward has approached this topic with such clarity, specificity & gentleness.

Can you imagine May 2018 the day before our wedding in our local church, I was like, the whole night , even a single minutes as far as i can remember, i dont have any sleep, i was talking to God, " Lord, tomorrow is my wedding, what will gonna be me look like if i dont have sleep but thanked the Lord, He managed still my /our wedding turn into a blessing i can say". I was my dream to face the altar at my wedding that only him (husband) can have me as his bride. But now, Lord willing here in Europe by God appointed time for us to get marry again in Denmark, preparation is long enough but i believed God has instore for us. Iam working double time by Gods help and to the best that i can be.....TO SAVE SOME; for the GIFTS AND CALLING OF GOD ARE WITHOUT REPENTANCE. HUH! i can dance the whole day for Jesus to show my love and reverence to His majestic glory. Sis. Ghuy P. Holmgaard

We are saved by grace! We are vessels fashioned in the hand of a loving God by his grace. Not buy what we do by what the spirit does In us! . When he does it… The spirit will lead and guide us in all truth. In the fact of the matter is it’s when he teaches us not rules that you have to follow. That’s where people become Pharisees and Sadducees and religious is when Man says all you Gotta do this or you can’t do this. Instead of letting God‘s grace grow them into the will of God.

I was of the generation when I ask why about things trying to learn understanding. You know they have never taught an understanding. And if they have thought about it, they say well that don’t want you to have understanding you just do it. There’s just been so much abuse and ignorance like they can’t explain the doctrine themselves, but yet they want to beat people with it and put them in hell over it. I’ve seen a lot through the generations and it’s always on the subject which tells you it’s most likely amiss.

The Bible never demands for us to conform to what Man is saying. We are to allow the word of God to RULE our lives. Not interpretation in the understanding of man. I do believe the word of God teaches holiness, but the fact of the matter is, we are flesh. We’re always going to be flesh until these bodies are fully redeemed. If the spirit does not do the work in a persons life, and it’s done by men, twisting their arms and condemning them to hell, if they don’t do this and that, if it’s not a hard work, just because they do it based on a works doesn’t save them either.

It is by his grace, because he’s the only one that can change a persons heart. The word of God says you’re saved by grace not of yourselves. Grace is what empowers us to do what we can’t do. It’s not done under the rule of a man’s rule saying you have to do this, or you can’t do this.

It is legalism when you’re made by man to do it and it is not a work of the spirit. In a person

This subject on Holiness….it is some thing each person must be taught by the Spirit. We judge everyone else when they don’t look like us. It is WRONG! We judge them and put them in Hell when we don’t have the right nor the commission to place people in Hell! It must be a work of the Spirit…if it’s a rule of man it is amiss! The church has been so RELIGIOUS for generations. We tell people they can’t do this or that because they dont look like you or me….we have churches full of religion and not relationship…I do not say this to argumentative or contrary to what the word of God teaches. But the spirit, in the heart of the people of God has been religious for generations and we have killed more people who have tried to find a relationship with God by wanting to put new wine,Spirit, into old bottles, that can’t contain it because they’re not prepared and able to contain it. And we destroyed them. We got to get honest with ourselves and say we’ve done this wrong for a long time. If all were known by his old the girls wear dresses and have long hair but they were not known for our relationship with God in the way we treat people we’ve missed it! Boy we have missed it for generations. Because we never grew up to truly bear the fruit in the heart of Jesus Christ.

There’s too much tradition that has crept into the church that is not Spirit lead, not governed by God, and governed by the purpose in the will of God.

Wearing a dress does not make a person HOLY. The Word teaches modesty. I’ve been in Pentecost apostolic for 54 years. Holiness is of the heart. It’s not what you wear on your body specifically a dress.. yes women are to be distinct from a man, but it doesn’t have to be a dress that makes them distinct. I think that is an added tradition that this organization has added to the scripture. You guys can continually put people in heaven or hell, according to a dress, but I think that is a fearful thing to do to people, because you don’t have the authority to put people in hell. I’ve seen women dressed more, holy in a dress pant suit than I have an a tight skirt that shows every curve in their body. As I said, I’ve been in Apostolic / Penticost? When this is taught, it needs to be taught that the spirit will teach people this stuff. It’s too often people are humiliated and condemned by the people of the so-called church because of what they wear. My comment was we gotta be conformed to God’s will, not Mansville. I brought a lot of people and won a lot of people to Jesus, and I don’t tell them how to dress, because if it’s not a work of the spirit, it’s a work of the flesh. Man will conform you to their ways and their traditions, but the spirit will always lead made you into all truth. To many beat up over this topic and caused to stumble because of a lack of wisdom and u derstanding.

There has been much bloodshed, brother over the years because of the methods that leader ship has brought down on people, trying to learn to live for the Lord. Generations of fear, mongering, and complete and biblical teachings on the subject. There are many people that truly believe that if it’s off of God, it would not have done that much damage. and I know too many pastors that scream out they have the authority and the power to do anything they want to do, which is not biblical, so many that scream out, and say all the buck stops here with them, which is not biblical, just heartbreaking how many many many many many situations have ended up on this topic

And the problem is it might take a lifetime for someone to come to maturity and what happens usually in the church people die people way before that and they’ll kill them and they won’t want to be in the fellowship anymore because they want to be the judge, and there is no one person that is a Judge over another human being

This has never been the method that the Pentecost, Apostolic, sept tot, or even lived as an example. But I do agree with what you’re saying 100%! That’s where I truly believe that if we would teach holiness how you treat people’s more holes in the way you dress. It is far more value to the kingdom of God in the way you treat humanity in the way you examine in judge them.
