HobbyBoss/Tristar 1/35 Fieseler Storch C1, Full Build

#scalemodelling #kitreview
This is my full build video for the HobbyBoss/Tristar (80180) 1/35 Fieseler Storch C1, the kit is depicted as the early variant and I have chosen to finish mine as one of the aircraft used by the Legion Condor during the Spanish Civil War.

    Great Video Thanx for your efforts. Re Aircraft in 1/35. I know there is now a Bf109 released. But the Model producers are missing a Trick here..! All my Armour is built in 1/35 and I am a Little P.O'd, there are not more Aircraft in this scale. (Have always been..!) Because the Differance betwix 1/32 and 1/35 is bleeding obvious. ( even if I need Glasses these Days..!) But great build. Like your upgrades and Added Details. Very nice..! Hope my 2 versions of this plane turn out as Good as yours. But making those Seatbelts, may be Beyond me...! 67 yrs old and my hands arn't as steady as they were..! (Aftermarket P.E. is in my Future..!) Cheers kim in Oz. 😎

    Great looking model. I appreciate that you didn't go crazy with the weathering. I have the 1/48 scale kit from Tamiya in Swiss markings I'll start on soon. Might have to pick this one up too. I've loved the Storch since I saw one at the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, theirs is an Italian version.

    I have Academy's 1/72 in my stash so I'm always looking for tips. I saw a YT video of an actual Storch landing on a full-length runway. Touch down was at the beginning of the ID number with a full stop at the end of the number.

    I love the way you treat spanish aviation, and the great finishing of your jobs. The plane you're missing is the Me 109 Buchon, thad was made in Spain with the engine of the Spitfire, once ww II was over. Congrats for your job, so well done.

    Were the antenna parts in the kit? I just seen the small wireless one on a sprue in mine but the box art has the rigging on the hobby boss one and rear ski and wheel I'll have to do more research into it now seeing a few options bar the canopy I'd have had liked the option for that!

    The Storch is a fascinating aircraft, to me anyway. That crank and chain that you added to the cockpit was the control for the leading-edge slats, very useful in a liaison aircraft -- they could land just about anywhere, and take off in a very small space. I don't know if anyone makes a 1/32 kit, but if there is, and there are PE parts available for it, you could use those, they're only about 10% oversized. Very neat kit.

    I have the same kit be starting shortly is this interior colours the original? Hard to find online references that aren't restored repainted green for finish use later n stuff ! I've seen them black with brown leather seats to cockpit green with metal seats! Think that's what I'm stuck on the most just now finding the original references for the interior! Did you get the clear part dome for the rear MG in your kit too? It's not blanked out in instructions for non use like the other parts but theres no other canopy that's with it to build the 156 C mine is the 156 A-0/ C-1 on box strange it's on the clear sprue bit the other canopy isn't there to make the later one

    7:49, you skipped the part where we are supposed to glue to muffler system. Really bad kit does not fit and takes alot of patience. Also you go directly to where the bottom part is installed (you have to badly bend the 2 mufflers to have it fitted in. Make sure they are glued solid... I bought it because I needed a 1:35 to fit my figurines. ( missed Tamiya all the way through the process ahahha). You did an EXCELLENT job with the kit. congrats.

    Great build. Only have two slight issues. Especially since it’s 1/32, you should have masked off the interior of the canopy to shoot the interior color so its not glossy. The other is the wiping of history. “We” are so worried about offending someone that too many people are afraid of producing accurate representations of objects from our world history. That’s why so many millennials think that socialism & communism are a good idea. When we, as model builders recreate actual historically accurate representations of everything else, but not the ugly parts, it does our society and it’s future absolutely no good. When you build a Nazi vehicle or figure and you do it completely accurate (apply the iron cross and the swastika), do you know what happens? No body drops dead, people ask what that is because it’s not being taught about anymore. People become educated about the horrors and atrocities committed under that symbol and the world is just a little bit more less likely to repeat it again. Now I know it’s not your fault because the idiocy of governments thinking if we sweep it under the rug then it will be forgotten and it will never happen again and if you put that on your works of art, because where you live, they’ll probably jail you. Which is ridiculous, because it’s history. Hiding it, doesn’t make it to have never happened. Instead, it almost guarantees it will happen again. Honestly, as modelers, I believe that we have a duty to educate and preserve history for future generations.

    Well damn, 2 things it’s 1/35 and not a Luftwaffe aircraft, before copying and pasting this nonsense in future, take a moment to open a book on the subject that the model you’re referring to depicts.

  • @GryphonArmorer

    @GryphonArmorer

    Champion Scale Modelling well, 1/32 , 1/35 close enough. I have studied WWII quite a bit. The Luftwafa did use this aircraft as a spotter and basically a special delivery. And sorry if my desire to preserve history comes off a bit overwhelming, but it’s definitely not nonsense. It wasn’t intended as an attack on you, I think you did a great job on the build. By the way, I happen to have a 1/48 version of this aircraft (still sealed) that I inherited from my dad that is depicted with Nazi markings on the box art. This is one aircraft I hadn’t seen before so when I saw the kit, I started to do a little research and they absolutely used them during the war on both fronts.

  • @ChampionScaleModelling

    @ChampionScaleModelling

    This aircraft, as in the one I’m depicting, without a swastika, is an aircraft used by the Nationalist airforce duri the Spanish Civil War, all the books you have read on ww2, I’m afraid, are irrelevant in this case.

  • @GryphonArmorer

    @GryphonArmorer

    Champion Scale Modelling I understand. I didn’t mean it to be an attack on you, I think you did a great job on the build. I just meant that so many people/countries are banning anything with the swastika (Nazi swastika) from use anywhere because of what it stood for. As someone that enjoys history and firmly believing that what is wiped from the history books, we will end up enduring once again.
