Hitler's Revolution: How Germany went from Poverty to Prosperity (1936-1937)

Ойындар

In 1936 the international scene was beginning the resemble the one we all know from the second world war. Mussolini had isolated himself by invading Ethiopia, Hitler had taken over the Rhineland and was beginning to realize that his dream alliance of Britain was perhaps never going to be a reality. Spain was engulfed in a bloody civil war, and people were beginning to pick sides.
Hitler began to focus more and more on foreign matters and began to leave matters at home to continue as they were, but what he had achieved so far was already remarkable. In 1938 he would be named times man of the year and in 1937 he was already talked of glowingly all over the world as one of the greatest Germans who had ever lived, and he had only been in power for 4 years. But how did Hitler change Germany so rapidly? How did Germany go from poverty to prosperity?

    My grandparents from Gateshead England, visited Germany in the summer of 1938. Traveling far and wide around Franconia and Bavaria. They saw with their own eyes the economic miracle that had took place in Germany. There was full employment, and the German masses of all classes were happy and content. Germans were very friendly to my Grandparents. They had a fantastic time. They returned to Gateshead, which was one of the most poverty stricken areas in Britain with mass unemployment. Though they them selves were lower middle class types.

    And that's why the war started. The treaty of Versailles was all bullshit blaming Germany for WW1, they didn't start it. It was a cringe fanatic assassin if you could call him that. Most of the concentration camps were built after the war. I have an alternate view on all this. The soviets were waay worse to their people, look into the gulags at this time. General Patton was quoted after winning the war, he beat the wrong side. Then the cold war began. If you throw away all the BS we were taught in school, or rather indoctrinated into, and look at it from a different view, you may come away with a similar view to mine. If not that's your prerogative.

    It would be interesting to see if the Nazi German economy would’ve been able to have any lasting power past the war or w/o it. It’s no secret that their economy was collapsing in on itself and likely would’ve happened quicker if it wasn’t for the natural resource industries they seized from the war and slave labor they were able to employ. Would the Nazis have been able to come up w/ a solution to avoid collapse that didn’t involve expanding into other territories?

  • @sakkra93

    @sakkra93

    28 күн бұрын

    Here's the full quote, this is from 1936, after David met Adolf: "He rightly claimed at Nuremberg that in four years his movement had made a new Germany. It is not the Germany of the first decade that followed the war - broken, dejected and bowed down with a sense of apprehension and impotence. It is now full of hope and confidence, and of a renewed sense of determination to lead its own life without interference from any influence outside its own frontiers. There is for the first time since the war a general sense of security. The people are more cheerful. There is a greater sense of general gaiety of spirit throughout the land. It is a happier Germany. I saw it everywhere, and Englishmen I met during my trip and who knew Germany well were very impressed with the change. One man has accomplished this miracle. He is a born leader of men. A magnetic and dynamic personality with a single-minded purpose, as resolute will and a dauntless heart. He is not merely in name but in fact the national Leader. He has made them safe against potential enemies by whom they were surrounded. He is also securing them against the constant dread of starvation which is one of the most poignant memories of the last years of the War and the first years of the Peace. Over 700,000 died of sheer hunger in those dark years. You can still see the effect in the physique of those who were born into that bleak world. The fact that Hitler has rescued his country from the fear of a repetition of that period of despair, penury and humiliation has given him an unchallenged authority in modern Germany. As to his popularity, especially among the youth of Germany, there can be no manner of doubt. The old trust him; the young idolise him. It is not the admiration accorded to a popular leader. It is the worship of a national hero who has saved his country from utter despondency and degradation. To those who have actually seen and sensed the way Hitler reigns over the heart and mind of Germany, this description may appear extravagant. All the same, it is the bare truth. This great people will work better, sacrifice more, and, if necessary, fight with greater resolution because Hitler asks the to do so. Those who do not comprehend this central fact cannot judge the present possibilities of modern Germany. That impression more than anything I witnessed during my short visit to the new Germany. There was a revivalist atmosphere. It had an extraordinary effect in unifying the nation. Catholic and Protestant, Prussian and Bavarian, employer and workman, rich and poor, have been consolidated into one people. Religious, provincial and class origins no longer divide the nation. There is a passion for unity born of dire necessity. I have never met a happier people than the Germans and Hitler is one of the greatest men.”

    The Olympics of 1936 is what led me to this channel. I find it completely fascinating how, for a brief moment in time, Hitler's Germany interacted with the world stage as an equal. To see their flag hoisted among the rest of them is truly incredible to see from a historical standpoint. That WAS Germany, and the outside world had no business in their affairs.

    Great work. Also I noticed that you got it right on the way Hitler viewed the Olympics. I can't count how many times I've heard during a documentary or read somewhere that Hitler was "bored" or "not in the least interested in the Olympics". Also how Jesse Owens made Germany look bad by winning a medal 😒 that's how they present it..😂😂. My favorite new channel I can't believe it took so long for KZread to recommend this channel because I watch so many WW2 (European Theater) videos.

  • @AlvesHeim

    @AlvesHeim

    After the Olympics Jessy Owens became a great friend with Luz Long, a German athlete who won the silver, Luz was also a member of the German Workers' Party. They were real friends. Unfortunately, Luz was KIA during WW2. After the war Jessy came to Luz's children and told them truth about how it was for real. For that friendship that began after his victory, for that handshake (!) coming from the Austrian guy (!!), Jessy Owens was kicked out of the U.S. Olympics team. Meanwhile, soon after the Olympics the German Workers' Party (at their own expense) planted three trees on the U.S. soil to celebrate an incredible talent of Mr. Owens: near Owens' college, near the stadium where he trained, and in a front of the house of Owens' mother for raising such and incredible athlete, best in the world, that's what the German Socialist Workers' Party did. And racist FDR (U.S. President) never even sent a letter to Owens in regard to his victory during the Olympics, the victory that Owens achieved as an American and for America. An American Black hero Jessy Owens had to work for DECADES as a low-paid worker on gas stations. He was a victim of the American racism of the 1930s, 40s, 50s.... Now compare how Jessy was treated at his home - with the treatment that he (a Black man!) received in Germany and from Germans themselves. And the Austrian man said with a sincere respect (after Jessy's victory) the following (often misquoted later) words: "White people should not compete in sports with Blacks, because Black people are superior!" Those who know even this story alone will never believe in post-war lies about Germany. This story is out there, even Wikipedia writes about it. But not too many know it, unfortunately... People won't hear this amazing story from any modern television channel..... Because THEY WHO OWN ALMOST EVERYTHING won't allow the truth to be broadcasted widely. Truth is too challenging for them.

    The shift to the idea of the creation of money being linked to investment in infrastructure, industrial growth both civilian and military and the creation of money in aiding families in the purchase of their homes by forgiving portions of the loan as the new family had more children was key in establishing NS Germany as a power once again. Most currency growth under our fiat format serves only to enrich the banks through debt and henceforth interest slavery. Already the payments on interest on our debts exceeds the portion of the national budget intended for infrastructure. The financial rot alongside the social and moral decay are all interlinked.
