Hiking Alone in Tayrona National Park 🗺 day 1: Calabazo - Playa Brava
Tayrona national park seems to be one of the most popular sights in Colombia so naturally, I put it on my list of must-visits but what I didn`t plan for was to hike there alone. Since I had no one to accompany me on this 2-day adventure, I did extensive research and decided to do the less crowded and popular route:
Calabazo - Playa Brava (spend night) - Cabo San Juan - El Zaino
On day one I set out just after 8 am, took a motorcycle taxi inside the park, and hiked for 1,5 hour to Playa Brava. It was an incredible hike, full of jungle vibes, sounds and streams. Playa Brava itself is a piece of paradise! I spend a very chill day there and slept on the beach in a hammock.

Thanks for the video! We were a bit nervous about the hike from the alternative entrance - but your video has settled our nerves! Did you take the same route on the way out of the national park too?

hi! I`m so glad you found this video helpful and encouraging. The Calabazo entrance was the best decision for sure, I enjoyed the whole experience. I went out through the main entrance and I regret it! It wasn`t a nice experience at all, so crowded and the trek is actually really long from the cabo San Juan beach. I think I made a video about that as well ;) good luck and enjoy it!!
So glad you did this! Can I ask if you took a large backpack or just a regular small daypack?

Hi, I only took a small daypack. Just a tip: bring lots of water, snacks and warm clothes!
Actually it us Caribe vegetation If you want to see jungke abd beaches you should go to the Pacific

I`m actually not sure about that. I assume it`s open to a similar time to the main entrance, but I advise you to check beforehand.
