I had knee replacement surgery end of August last year. Did all those exercises before & after surgery. It was tough but worth it, I can walk fast, no pain & not bow legged anymore. Best thing I did.

@@PurpleHaze929 And stupid me didn't know anything abt the scar tissue causing problems. So i didn't do stick to my exercise routine. Is all hope lost or can you recommend some exercises to build range of motion and strength?

@@callmedave8802 . It’s important before you have a lot of scar buildup to get as much range of motion as possible. I would find a physical therapist so they can evaluate your situation & see if certain exercises could improve it at this point. Strengthening is possible any time. Squats, leg lifts, walking. Good Luck!! 👍

Thanks! These work great for my more invasive knee arthroscopy that included partial menisectomy and a larger incision for removing a massive loose body. Slower progress than usual arthroscopy but right in line with the recovery period of total knee replacement. These progressive guides are way better than the instructions given by the hospital.

Total left knee replacement 18 days post. Thanks guys for what you do as therapists. I negotiated going back to work at week 4. 60 yo male and lively hood driven. To those effected: Learn which pain is what to work through rather than to medicate. There is a difference Be honest in your recovery. Only you know, Right? Set a goal, exceed a goal. This is important. If you are honest with your ability, .. you get my point. Run everything past your therapist. I mean every pain ache and restless leg issue . I'm in pain telling you this but I know I will overcome. That I will be back to work in 4 wees

You are right about bringing up specific pains with the PT. Otherwise you might be given exercises that exacerbate instead of help when a week of a new exercise might solve the issue. I only figured out this a month into PT. Now I realize I must take my healing into my own hands.

Thanks for these tips. I’m 6 weeks post-op for TNR, great range of motion and extension and getting bored with the home exercises, so adding a few new ones should help. When I go to PT I end up using machines that I don’t have access to otherwise and in a way that’s not helpful for the daily grind.

The step ups and step down should be done on a stool large enough for the whole foot to be on the stool. The heel should not be hanging off on the step ups.

I’m 3 months after total knee replacement, the outer side of leg is in constant pain, like cramps. It has to do with how I stand on my operated leg. Can you suggest exercises to correct this? I started doing the “after 8 weeks routine”, some exercises are still hard…. Thanks in advance for your input!

Just a small point.. In the #2, sit to stand exercise, Mike says if your left leg is strong you may push off like this.... and he bends stronger on the weak left side. Sorry for being picky Mike.

I bought an exercise step. Works great and you can add more height to it as you progress. Forget the stool.
