Yes, but he was thinking that you get more reward for finishing faster. The artifacts have a set reward no matter how long it takes, but if you speed through, you don't pick up any more treasure and don't maximize your cards. You can go fast and get just the artifact and whatever you happen to pick up along the way, or you can wait for your good cards to play and find frost embers, which are the most important thing to pick up in the dungeon besides the artifact.

Speed in DO does matter, but mostly indirectly: Every so often, a stumble is added to your deck, and when you draw a stumble, you get +2 clank. This means that the longer you stay in the dungeon, and the smaller your deck is, the more stumbles you'll draw, making your clank max out. Also, every so often, hazard will tick. When hazard ticks, there is a chance that doors will close somewhere, or traps will activate, making it harder to exit. This means that the longer you stay in the dungeon, the harder it will be to leave it. So while it doesn't really affect your score, it can affect your success of that particular run.

Little info, after u submit your compass n get the artifact, your clank n hazard gonna up significantly (basically the dungeon is angry at u stealing the artifact, heartbeat going faster, n alot of pathway getting blocked off), so farming treasure after taking artifact is very risky... And also u can buy shards with crown in the Decked Out lobby (if you lucky, cz maybe Etho camping it lol)...

  • @D3__

Oh man I was so rooting for you to make it to the end there it was so close! gg though. Also speed does kind of matter when you don't have a lot of cards because the longer you wait in the dungeon you get more hazard, which is the rock crumbling sound, that is what closes those doors and once your clank, the heart beat sound, is max out that's when the vex come out. So until you have a few hazard and clank block cards speed should be a factor

decked out is a very big game, with a lot of different things that are going on. I hope this can help for anyone trying ot understand it (Including Iskall). Add more in comments. Disclamer: I did not make this game, that only Tango can have done, but i love it and very much enjoy all the hermits playing it, and would like to help them by learning about the game. Nothing i say is 100% correct (or correct english) but is said to help everyone understand the amazing game better. Clank (blue spikey symbol): will be added when making to much noice inside the dungeon. Sneaking the whole way will make almost no clank. The heartbeat that plays indicated the level of clank. When a certain level of clank is reached the illagers get out and release vex that very quickly kill the player. Clank can be blocked with certained carts Hazard (Red triangle symbol): will be added when spending time inside the dungeon. Hazard will randomly close doors/pathways inside the dungeon making the way more difficult. The exit will always be avalible. Hazard can be blocked with certained cards Difficulty: 5 levels of difficulty (hardest to be unlucked) that can be chosen at the start of the game. This will change one thing only in the game: the artifact locations. Difficulty 1: early Level 1 artifacts Difficulty 2: late Level 1 or early level 2 artifact Difficulty 3: late level 2 or early level 3 artifact Difficulty 4: probably late level 3 artifact Difficulty 5: Probably level 4 artifact (not yet unlocked) Levels: Decked out 2 is made out of 4 levels or areas. Iskall, in his previous video, got into level 2 when he passed though the aged copper doors with the key. The deeper into decked out the more dangerous but also rewarding it gets. The doors to the next level will drop as treasure inside the level before, so you can only find keys to level 3 at level 2. Levels 1 and 2 will contain ravagers Levels 3 and 4 will contain wardens All levels will have vex spawning when clank is high enough Treasure: drops inside the dungeon at random in certain spots. The amount of drops can be increased with cards. Treasure contains of multiple different items: Coins: can not leave the dungeon, can be exchanged into crowns (4 coins=1 crown) Crowns: can leave the dungeon, can be used to purchase items outside the dungeon, next to the scoreboard Keys: keys to the next level, cannot leave the dungeon repair kits: 'Use unknown atm', unknown if they can leave the dungeon Soul flames: currency inside the dungeon, but cannot leave it. Can be obtained by handing in the artifact (number of soul flames will be next to the name between brackets) or found through random drops inside the dungeon. I believe that you need at least one +1 soul flame on 1 card to get them to spawn. Soul flames can be used to by new cards or victory tomes when victorious inside the dungeon shop. Only pay in exact amounts here, left over will be taken later. All things have sounds connected to them. For example when hazard is played the is a sound with 3 notes (i believe stepping down). Hazard blocked has a simular sound (but stepping up on the last note). The sounds can be learned, but are also kinda unrelable because sometimes multiple things happen at the same time, but only one sound will be heard.

tips for mr iskall!! there is a tutorial room next to where you found Grian, it will help you with the sound cues... extra helpful if you want to loot as much as possible... speed IS key! the longer you spend time in the dungeon, the more clank you generate, and the more clank, the more vexes... buff up on sneak and ember seeker next week, i feel like you'll need those cards.. speaking of cards, zoom in on one of them, notice the number on top right? those indicate how many same cards you can stack in your deck... just additional info... also you're doing great!! looooove the new mod and that decked out run was good!! ✨

You could consider placing numerous cuboid 'shelves' of various sizes amidst the landscape in front of your base as decoration. Dress them up with some fancy detail work, and they'd make an interesting sight.

Speed matters somewhat because of hazard and clank. The longer you stay in the dungeon the more hazard doors and pathways will close and more hazard traps will activate. You will also trigger more shriekers, which increase clank. At max clank the vex are getting released into the dungeon. Of course, you can collect some more loot if you stay longer as well. But if I remember correctly loot stops dropping once you reach max clank, even if cards that usually give you loot get played. Edit: All this is official information (at least as far as I know), so this doesn't involve any spoilers, I just hope it helps you enjoy the game more by being able to approach it more tactically.

I like the idea of having a “bridge” on the outside. I’m seeing some decorative pillars on the front corners of that section that you build, some suspension cables hanging between that and the front entrance, and then a staircase at the front. I say bridge because it would look a bit like a bridge only it would be solid underneath and not be going over anything. I think it would add a lot of depth to the entrance and make it stand out more at a distance! That’s just what I would do though, I’m sure whatever Iskall does with it will look great!

With decked out, you don’t want to rush because you won’t get any treasure, but you don’t want to lallygag because hazards will block off paths and vexes will eventually spawn
