Many thanks - this hut was always in an awesome location, but sorely needed some love. Well done it looks like it's good to go for another 40 yrs!

Thanks Roy for videoung the reno. Herepai was the ugliest hut i ever stayed in !. I stayed over in winter 2007 . The firebox smoked and the horrid inner metal walls gave an industrial cold feel to the place. Thankyou so much to the team for a huge transformation. More light, decent woodshed and white wood interior walls. Yes Herepai is well worth a visit now without a shudder of dread !

Glad you liked it. And like wise meeting you. We made it over the Pukeatua track successfully in 6.5 hrs without any rain. Track was more challenging than thought, quite a long way but all good. Cheers

@@royrolston5340 that’s good it does look a fairly long way on the map is there much up and down along the top of the ridge?

@@adamjohnson9240 No not really, fairly consistent easy grade up after a short steep pinch to start. From Pukuatua Peak the track decends about the same for awhile then on a steeper track down through recently logged pine forest with steeper bit at bottom.
