selfish parents, STOP MAKING YOUR CHILDREN LIVING YOUR DREAMS, IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT YOU COULDN'T ACHIEVE YOUR DREAMS. A child is just as much a human being with individuality and with dreams, regardless of whether you raised them or not. This is an unhealthy and toxic mindset

I still wonder why there are parents like this. I have watched this show for a while now and I found several cases where parents are the one who are shitty and push their child do things and disregards what the child's want. Can somebody comes down to Korea and teach adults how to parenting???

@@diyah4436 A lot of parents do this around the globe- forcing their children to achieve THEIR dreams. Believe me when I say you only hear about it a lot from Korea because the show is Korean. I wish this thing would stop globally too, because there are a lot of people who have talent and passion in other areas but are forced into one career so as not to let down their parents.

One of the reasons why kids rebel is because parents are too controlling and suffocating. Being overprotective and controlling would never help in todays cruel world, you are only putting your kids in harms way. Im sad for kids who has to suffer because their parents wants them to fulfill their dreams, they have dreams too you know. Being hard on your kids, will never make them strong, they'll just be hostile. Let them live their lives, you dont want to be that parent who'll be resented and hated by their kids in the future.

I have mom like this. From what I've seen from her: no, she doesnt care if you get depressed. She doesnt want to see you be happy. In my case (and in most cases, so I will asume her mother too. Especially since her mother used to be adicted and addiction is usualy a way of coping) my mother was so hurt by the way she used to be treated by her parents that she did the same to me. Only she didnt see that. She didnt want to see it. She is so hurt she could only think about her self to the point that when I got hurt, she got mad at me. Me being hurt made that my mom had to feel sad because I am hurt and so I was hurting her. A lot of people who hurt others (and dont want to see it) do so because they are hurt and they want them to make other people feel how bad they feel (being hurt makes you feel very lonely and disconected). They reflect their own pain at others, because they are too scared to allow themselves to feel pain. A lot of people rather get angry then sad, because being sad means being weak and being angry means having power and being in control.

Actually a lot of concerns get resolved at hello counselor. By far not all but a respectable amount. Every once in a while they are doing hello conselor news to check on previous concerns. I still remember this guy who would always tell his gf/wife (don't remember if they were married) how bad she smells and in general was really sensitive to smells. It got to a point where he just randomly walked to her and told her how much she stinks and that she should take a shower and would refuse to do anything with her. At hello counselor they talked it out and in the end both of them didn't seem to be as upset as before. Months later they were on the hello counselor news to check how they are doing and they were even invited again and that couple was all lovey dovey again and they even got a cute baby (she got pregnant after hello counselor). The girl said that the guy never told her ever again that she would smell bad and the guy learned to control his sensitive nouse and to talk respectful to her and he even said that now he loves her smell. So I don't know about this concern or about all concerns but many do indeed get resolved or at least change for a better. But for some concerns there's no hope left, I guess. There was this guy who wanted to fly and would spend all his money to build dynamically absolutely incorrect flying devices (everyone could see that that thing never ever flies) and a few years later he was invited again still doing this with no improvement at all.

The part when the girl and boy were mentioning abt the mothers abusive past it really struck me and my tear ducts went loose. The reasoning for this is because my mother also drinks, but ever since my elder brother started living with us all the abusive things were thrown at him because he did drugs and picked fights, the reason he did these things? Was because of my mother.. She didn't treat my brother well when he was younger which lead him to become rebel.. Most mothers should consider reflecting on their behavior and thinking abt what they're actually doing, today abusive is getting bigger and bigger, parents should actually learn on how to be an ACTUAL parent, it ain't all that easy to parent a child.

The son is funny & sweet, I think the daughter protected him from the controling alcoholic mother & has sacrificed some of her happiness. The daughter deserves to do what job she wants & needs to go to college & be independent but I think she will still worry about her younger brother. I hope they both go on to do what they want, have fun & be happy.

I don’t think I can understand to her extent but I can sympathize with her on being forced into something she doesn’t want. My dad made me become a competitive swimmer because it’s what he did. I started to like it until he kept telling me I wasn’t good enough yet. He’s been saying it for years now. Even though I’m faster than he was. I also developed trust issues and emotional-trauma based anxiety because he emotionally abused me often and still does. It hurts when you have parents like this. And I really do hope they are better to both of their children.

I really hope they are happy now. The mother seems to really care for her children. She was alcoholic but she managed to quit because she loved her daughter so much and didn't want her to leave. Alcohol is addicting and can be very hard to quit so it shows that the mother made a huge effort to better herself. Also, she eventually decided to support her daughter's dreams. The mom really does care for her kids.

And then when she said that she couldn't go to her mom because she gets angry over nothing...waow... I feel the exact way. It was already a bad sign that the girl's parents forced her to be something she's doesn't want to be, but the daughter doesn't trust her parents since she's afraid. She's been disapproved for almost everything, she's lost total direction. My heart goes out to her.

Because if you stay quiet you are only hurting yourself more, you wont know what your parents will say unless you tell them or convince them. It's better to say something than to stay quiet before it's too much. Its your future at the end of the day, you will be the one working in that profession not them! When I was very young my mom asked me what instrument I wanted to learn (my parents find musical education quite important and said we needed to learn an instrument) My brother chose guitar, my other brother chose piano. So those are 2 of the instruments my parents played. If I didn't know what insturment I wanted to do my mom would've let me playthe flute, she wanted me to play the flute actually since my mom had to quit because she didn't have time for it anymore. But wen she asked me I said I wanted to play violin, an instrument no one in my family plays, my mom never said anything of it and just let me play violin. Until last year I didn't even know she wanted me to play flute. I think that's the right way to handle this. My parents never forced us to be good, they told us to practice and do our best, but they never got mad when there were people who were better. My oldest brother even quit piano and although my parents kinda found it sad they did let him quit without a problem. So even if I didn't know what I wanted to play at the time and my mom would've let me play violin, it would've been fine. I mean, it's not as if they want me to be good at it, they want me to at least learn music culture. I can still change my instrument if I wanted to. When you have a dream that you couldn't achieve and have children, don't tell them to do it. I mean, you can tell them to do it but if you make them do it... Don't expect them to be good or practice a lot. I think that's the only thing that needs to be said.

I can kinda relate except for the whole abusive part (my parents dont drink). My mom had always planned for me to be a nurse and when I’d tell her my dreams and goals she’d tell me it wasn’t stable enough (i wanted to be a highschool teacher/ examiner) and would say that nursing was much more superior in different ways. It got to the point where i never wanted to be alone in the car with her because that’s all she’d talk about, until one day my frustrations had reached its climax and i cried telling her that she was stopping me from becoming what i really want and that she’s basically pushing me to be like her (she’s a highly ranked nurse). After that, she stopped pestering me and now supports me, but now the thing is... she’s pushing my little brother to become a nurse 🤷🏻‍♀️
