Why not…? It worked with Zidane.. Pep… Ancelotti I personally think it’s more of an English manager thing. Probably explains why no English manager has won the prem. I think ex players should take the Zidane, Mourinho, Pep & Arteta route of working under a great manager first & then transition. A lot of English managers also won’t get jobs abroad to improve their tactics due to the English being so bad at foreign languages also. It’s a lot easier when someone like Mourinho, Pep & Ancelotti rocks up & they speak a million different languages, Can you imagine someone like Rooney rocking up to Getafe or Verona with that Thick Scouse Accent🤣

Sometimes a bit unsure why frank seems to be rated higher than ole, neither were ultimately good enough but always thought Utd looked the better team over the period they were both managing
No offence to Lampard but he knew the situation when he went into Chelsea and Everton so he cant complain. He should never of taken the Everton job. If he really wants us to take him seriously as a manager then he needs to drop down to the Championship and show us what hes capable of. Because if he just stays in the Premier League hes just going to get the difficult jobs at the bottom end of the league where he wont be able to show us what he believes how good he is.
Gerrard and Lampard would potentially be good back room staff, assistant etc but never as management

I dont neccesarily think they are bad managers the problem is their names have got them massive jobs that they have been nowhere near ready for. Should be starting out at league1/ league 2 level not massive premier league clubs and good championship ones. They have all been completely out of their depth. Lampard especially has taken jobs at chelsea and everton at the worst possible times
@Youafool500

@@ryanmichael7795They need to go to a fallen giant and see if they can lift them up, that’s one route for them, you would be able to see if they have style of play/systems. You just have to look at what Xabi Alonso is doing in Germany, his team have a style of play that he has managed to implement on them, Frank and Stevie showed nothing.

Frank Lampard finished washing dishes and I heard him screaming out his name. I knew he was finished and washed…..
who cares......
Simple argument, IF Frank is that good then how come people are not banging on the door for him ? He had a lucky season at chelsea and then was rubbish.
Simon is 100% correct
Frank Lampard played for Man City. Bet you didn't know that. Do a quick wiki search!
Frank needs to work along side good managers like Mourinho or Ancelotti
Simon is so right he should have won that FA cup final. He might have gotten more time if he did and artea wouldnt have.
This program needs a competent partner for Simon Jordan.
Lampard should manage stable mid table championship side without financial issues and without big ambitions for a couple of seasons . Just to build his team and philosophy and then try to get promoted in the third season ...
Rooney is fine at Birmingham because they are in the Championship. Gerrard at Villa was questionable, but he had enough success in Scotland to justify it. Lampard at Chelsea was a joke.
@PigeonPlucker
6 ай бұрын
For Birmingham, sacking a manager who has you in the playoffs and replacing him with one with a total managerial career win ratio of less than 22% is insane
Lampard couldnt manage a sweet shop
Simon normally talks sense, but NOBODY would have taken the Chelsea job when Frank took the Chelsea job the 1st time, they had a transfer ban and had just lost the best player in the league. Then he got to a cup final and lost due to some very bad officiating beating the supposed best Liverpool of all time on the way and also got top 4 beating Jose and Pep in the process, all with pretty much the Chelsea academy side.
As a long-time Leeds supporter, I saw ex-Leeds Revie players try to manage Leeds and fail. They could not do what their old gaffer Don Revie did. Then Wilkinson came along and won the league. Then Bielsa, and we got back to the big time. Bielsa made basic players look great, which couldn't last without refreshing the squad with better. They all played the game professionally, but only Revie, Wilkinson, and Bielsa were good coaches/managers. Not a job for every ex-player.
Simon is spot on.
I think there is a vacancy at Bradford City or Chelsea Ladies for Frank.
Lampard would be good for his podcast
Lampard needs to manage at Conference Level and then build upwards if he is a success at that level.

Anyone can manage! It's not hard
In hindsight, he should have stayed at Derby County.
7:04 I’ve got the appetite doesn’t mean I should get the job
Simon is spot on here. Frank Lampard might make a good manager but there are far better qualified people than him at L1 and L2 and possibly non-League level. He needs to be prepared to drop down if he really wants a career in management.
Ex-Pros - or great former Premier League players with big egos - should be given a top managerial job in the EPL when they've proven in La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1 that they can succeed with top teams.
Lampard should go to a Championship or League 1 club, build them and get them promoted. Then he has every reason to expect a big job. As it is, he won't do anything.

Be perfect for a team like Sunderland.
He needs to go to division 1 or the championship and actually learn his craft!Too much, too soon as a manager does not prepare you for challenges! ETH worked his way up in the Netherlands before landing the Man Utd job! That is the reason why he is calm and does not panic in adversity!
There's NOTHING for little Frankie in Managerial career.. He'd relegate City if Pep hand him the keys
The Cyprus league would be perfect for him
Simon's wrong. Though not always true, top level players have a higher likelihood of being good managers as they played under top managers and coaches and have experience playing in innovative tactical systems. In order to succeed in your role for the team you need to play in coordination with the the whole team and therefore have an understanding of the team strategy. Moreover, being hardened by changing room politics and seeing how the top managers communicated and controlled the group should help.
Just hope he doesn't tip up at OUFC!
Chelsea fan here, Frank Lampard walked into those clubs knowing what was his KPI did not deliver. Tuchel followed him and won the ucl with same team. No matter how much he waffles in about media he is not a good manager. Frank Lampard needs a truck load of cash and still hasn't delivered. He couldn't got promoted with Derby. Took Chelsea very close to relegation. He needs to be a bit humble., the players aren't going to train themselves or draw up tactics for him. He needs to work on that himself.
Ex pros are not judged more harshly, problem is those guys end up where they shouldn't be and that results in him being judged.
Ha ha "stank the place out "
What did he do at Derby exactly? They lost a playoff final then he jumped ship. Whoopie.
pep was an ex player best manager ever
As a Birmingham City Supporter I 100% agree with Simon Jordan.. 6th after 10 games wrongfully sacked Eustace and now Rooney has played 4, lost 3 and threw away a 2-0 lead in the final 10 mins at home in his 4th.. Well done Wagner 👏🏻👏🏻

i want an alexa style AI with simons voice and quips. simon..................can you tell me which manager during the premier league has had the best win/loss ratio? NO, you havent earned the right!
Not management
Jim had the answer. Ex players are paranchuting into the jobs that dont allow for momentum, so yes they will be judged more harshly Derby was lampard's level and should have refused the chelsea job Now the likes of john terry are considering league 1
It's amazing how much the media love the players from those England sides and how little they're actually achieving. Phil Neville - poor in every job Lampard - poor in all but one job Gerrard - good at Rangers, poor elsewhere Rooney - poor at every job Ashley Cole - Lampard & Rooney's lapdog John Terry - nobody will touch him
“No I’m gonna give Wayne Rooney a job because he can interview properly and string a sentence together”.. Said it all there, Simon is more bothered about how Simon and his business looks than actually winning.. Not saying Rooney is a good manager or anything but just shows the sort of things that really go through Simon’s head.. Could barely understand Fergie half the time, he won.. You not giving a Fergie a job because he has a thick Scottish accent? Lose then.. How someone looks or speaks should have no bearing on wether you think they’re right for a job ffs, especially when that job doesn’t require looking right or speaking right and when that job doesn’t need you at all, but the fans who make it all possible, most of which also don’t look or speak all uppity..
Cough…. Southgate
Lampard isn't a manager. Let's leave it at that.
Top players should be humble n conscious that there's other ppl that have more credentials than Frank m more but again we have to look at owners who give guys the job with not much experience to go off other than names..
Frank lampard would be a better manager if he has an ounce of tactical knowledge. Also if he had self awareness as he is unable to be critical of himself and his lack of man management. According to frank, if he loses a game then it's the players, if he wins then it's his tactics 🙄
Frank was last seen wearing a red suit, white beard and residing in Santa's Grotto at Harrods.
😂😂😂😂 8:22

Love Simon but sometimes he bilndly guesses based on his own bias: "Would have got them relegated the next season"
Why can't they cut there teeth in the championship, highly competitive league. Instead they choose America .
Arteta didn’t get given the managers job, he was made first team coach, proved his worth and is now the manager.
@SeanBeatsMapson

And considering arteta was the first team coach of the best side in the league, he was arguably more than qualified for the role. It was only in his second contract he was made first team manager. Management was run by Edu for the first part of Artetas reign, once he became first team manager Edu became technical director and is now arsenals first ever sporting director.
