    I play tested both of them and boom mp was such a joy on swing motion. Such an easy racquet and fluid with my one hand backhand. It’s medium powered but it goes so fast through the air and it has a little bit more pop than speed mp so if you go for it…. it can produce more power. It has such a nice crisp and soft feel on the same time and lots of byte. Speed mp felt more stable but despite boom mp is thicker it felt more smooth through the air and easier on volleys, touch shots, servers etc. I believe with 2 grams at 12 boom mp can be fixed and play better than speed mp even for the more advanced player. I was caught with surprise with this racquet.

    Exactly what I felt during my test. Surprisingly this racket is very capable if you can swing fast. Some people cannot do that and they can be dissapointed but the low power and the fact that the racket doesn't create some boom effect just from easy swing. But once you realize that this rackets name "Boom" is describing your effort, your unlimited boom swing, you know exactly what to expect from this frame. Great control over the shots no matter how hard you swing. That's pretty remarkable and unique.

    I hope the coffee tasted good! ☕😋 After using the Speed Pro for a while, I'm moved to the Speed MP, which I am enjoying a lot as it's a little less demanding to play with and has a bit more pop and spin. I'm very happy with this switch. I didn't get a chance to try the Boom or Extremes but it's time for me to stop demoing. Cheers for all your videos and hard work, Michal.

    Hi Richie, the coffee was great, thank you once more! I'm happy you're satisfied with the switch. Speed MP is probably the most versatile and performance oriented racket from all the 100 inch2 MP's in Head's line. It's the best of all the worlds - control, precision, power and spin in a great stable frame. It's also quite demanding compared to the Extreme MP and that means the racket will grow with your skills. It's good your racket journey is over and now you can focus on tennis only. Enjoy the manooovrlbity!

    In my short experience playing 100 sq inch rackets: Diadem Nova FS 100, Pro Kennex Ki5 295 (2022), Tecnifibre TF-X1 300, Pro Kennex Black Ace 300, Prince Vortex 300 and Head Speed MP, the Speed MP is by miles the best of these. + Best sounding racket with Head Lynx Tour at 22kg + Excellent 2-handed backhands + Not stiff, which is always welcome + Great ball pocketing - Backhand slices need some adjustments - I don't like the grommet's slot extending so low towards the throat area. This could bother some people on the 1-handed backhand, especially people like me that grab the racket's throat quite high

  • @CzechTennisGuy

    For me the Boom Pro is also the winner because the MP is actually quite low powered, it lacks the punch and feels kind of dead, without energy. So if you can swing a racket and you have intermediate experience, the Boom Pro is a great option. Speed MP is a great overall racket for every type of player who wants to feel solid all over the court. I think the Speed MP is maybe the best seller for Head overall, or at least it was...before the new Extreme Auxetic kicked in - it's awesome.

    Been hooked on my older (cheap) Head 98 Radical Microgel MP’s but they stopped making them apparently. I put tungsten puddy in the butt cap to bring them to 336 g and approximately 8 pts headlight. I love the (again cheap) Head Sonic Pro strung right down the middle at 55 lbs. I know string only lasts like 2-3 weeks..no biggie. I’m intermediate 4.0 player, always loved Head racquets and I love the solid feel I get from 18x20. Wonder if the Boom would be a good fit?

I currently play in a very old wilson hyper prostaff 110 and have tried Head Speed MP. So far, i like the Head Speed MP but it feels a bit heavy and i would need more power from the racket. Thanks!

  • @CzechTennisGuy

    Hi Stefanny, for a beginner I would go for light rackets between 270-280 g unstrung weight. The Boom MP is too heavy for a beginner. Instead go for the Extreme Team or Extreme MP L. The Clash 100L is also a good option with great amount of easy power and superb comfort. It depends on your taste - also the design plays a role. You should love your racket as it is your best friend on court. Speed MP is for intermediate and advanced players so stay away from it for now. Good luck and enjoy the manooovrlbity!

    Hi! How compare Speed MP, Extreme Tour and VcorePro100?

  • @CzechTennisGuy

    @CzechTennisGuy

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi, so the Speed MP has the best allround feel, precision and spin potential. Extreme Tour has great pop, raw power and crisp feel. Vcore Pro 100 is the most stable and has best comfort. Speed MP - if you mix groundstrokes attacks with defense and you go from time to time on the net to finish the point. Extreme Tour is a great weapon for creative aggressive baseliners that often play serve & volley. Vcore Pro 100 great stick mainly for power aggressive baseliners, that push their opponent with raw power.

    I'm returning from more than 20 years off of competitive playing. I'm primarily a baseliner who plays with a more than average amount of spin, in even the serves. I don't like oversize racquets and my favorite ones I played during college were the Head Trysis 230s. I was actually considering the Boom MP but it sounds like the speed more be better? (I'm a 4.0 level)

  • @CzechTennisGuy

    It is very individual. You should try these rackets before you buy them. I'm not familiar with Head Trysis so I can't tell which of the new rackets is similar to it. Todays rackets are a completely different exprience from the rackets of the past. You just have to try bunch of them to really know what's best for you. Booms and Speeds are great allround rackets for baseliners and allcourt players. Personally I prefer the Boom Pro for a male player. Boom MP is great for intermediate or lower intermediate women.

    Would you suggest Head Speed MP or Head Boom MP for a 4.0 NTRP player who trains 3-4 times a week? I played in the past a little bit with the Speed Graphene XT MP and I liked it though I got fatigued very quickly when playing. Should I give another try to the new Head Speed MP 2022 or would you suggest other raquets like Head Boom? I'm currently playing with my Wilson Clash 100 but sometimes it feels like it lacks stability when the opponent is hitting hard. Thank you!

  • @CzechTennisGuy

    @CzechTennisGuy

    I would suggest trying Boom Pro. It's a more stable and precise version of Boom MP, but still quite forgiving with big sweetspot. It's not as heavy as you might think for a 310 g racket because the balance is more to the hand compared to the Speed Pro. So for me it's a nice mix of precision, stability, feel and control. I call it "baby Speed Pro", because the racket is more playful and easier to create spin with compared to regular Speed Pro. If you play 3-4 times a week, Boom Pro could be a great racket to continue improving and still having a lot of fun.

    I have to say that the non-glossy paint finish (white) at the throat area of the Speed MP feels of better quality than that (green) of the Boom Pro I used to have. The "green" paint on the Boom felt very cheap...

  • @CzechTennisGuy

    It's true, that the "green" on Boom rackets feels cheep and pale. Maybe they didn't want the racket to be too vivid and too colourful. They wanted to maintain the Speed feel from far distance so people think whatever racket it is, it's Head because it looks like Speed. I'm quite curious what the future brings for Boom series.

    It's tough to judge from a screen based on just few notes. Definitely the Speed MP is a better racket than you are a player after just 1 year of tennis. So the good thing is, the racket will never be responsible for how bad you play. So to say, you can only get better with this racket and the racket will remain very good for the next couple if years. So the proper step by step process when talking about these 3 rackets should be like this. 1. Boom MP is the easiest racket to start with. 2. Clash 100 v2 would be the next racket to continue with. 3. Last would be the Speed MP which is the most mature racket. But of course it would mean a much more expensive investment. I think that the Boom Pro is at the similar level of Speed Pro, but more easier to hit with, more forgiving. You can't really compare it to the MP version, which has a bigger headsize. But I would say that the Speed MP is overall more solid, more stable and has better performance throughout all the shots you can imagine. It also depends who wants to use the racket. If you want to play more competitive, tournaments, I would choose the Speed MP. If you play just on a club level without any further ambition, go with the Boom Pro, which can give you the sensation of playing with a more forgiving "Speed Pro" racket.

    Because the series is easy to use and when it's something easy to use, women will benefit from it the most. But me personally, I don't see it that way. For me the Boom Pro is actually a great racket for men who want a slightly more fun to use racket that has similar feel and performance like the Speed Pro racket. The Boom series suits more players who are not on the competition level of tennis because it's more forgiving then the regular classic frames and classic series like the Speed, Radical, Extreme, Prestige etc.
