The Blade 98 is a plug-and-play racket
(UPDATED) CX200 OS/Ezone 100/105/110 Hello guys I hope you can help me. I got the racket (2024 Dunlop Cx 200 OS)and it seemed OK and then I got strings put on it. Yonex 125. I noticed there is a very tiny sweet spot right in the middle and if it hits outside of that at the edges then the ball just makes a clunk sound and makes my wrist hurt and the ball just flops down to the ground. My wrist has been hurting for 1 week now. The guy that put the strings on supposedly put it smack right in the middle pressure of the recommended setting. I doubt the guy put the strings on incorrectly he is a veteran at this...so what is going on? I know the Head Tis6 is not a pro racket but I've been playing with that one instead now because the sweet spot is huge and I don't have to work that much for the ball to bounce and shoot off like a rocket and my wrist doesn't hurt much. Should I sell the Dunlop and try for another or is there a string set up that should be done for this racket? I thought 125 was supposed to be more comfortable. Would really hate to have to sell it or spend more on strings. Anyone else have this problem? And if I should try another racket please let me know which ones you guys recommend. I really love and want rackets that are 107 size head or bigger and that feel light like the tis6 but I need something powerful with control maybe a medium power. Thanx! UPDATE: i'm going to demo the EZ zone 100 for a week. The guy is giving me a great deal on a 105 but it still looks small to me and I'm wondering if I should go for the 110 lol. Is there any reason I shouldn't go for the 110?(UPDATED)
Hello, the CX200 OS is a very different racket compared to your Head Ti S6. Yes, it is oversized, but a lot more control oriented. And I mean a lot more. Beam is thin, swingweight is quite high and the overall weight is also a lot higher. So this racket is for sure not for you. Try the Dunlop FX 700. It will suit your game a lot better. Or Ezone 105.
@@CzechTennisGuy it's funny that you mentioned that I was thinking about getting the EZO 105 I'm actually going to go to Cerritos tennis shop right now and check it out
@@CzechTennisGuy it's funny that you mentioned that I'm actually on my way to the store to check out the Ezone 105. Do you think the 110 would be too much? It's like $80 cheaper lol. I mean the head TIS6 is 115, so...
@@CzechTennisGuy so I'm going to demo the Ezone 100 for a week. I def want the 105 or 110. I'm leaning towards going for the 110 but is there a reason I should go for the 105 instead of the 110? The 105 just still looks small to me. lol
How would you compare the Pure Strike 98 16x19 versus the Radical Auxetic MP? Have you tried the Pure Strike 97?
Is better the 290 Rafa?
Great review! I appreciate your style. Your opinion is genuine, and you seem motivated not just to sell rackets, but to understand their functionality. Thanks. I have one question, if I may. How does the Wilson 98 16x19 V9 compare directly to the Head Speed MP 2022 Auxetic 2.0? I'm having a hard time choosing between these two. Thank you for your answer.
What's your favorite racket right now?
Right now it is the Tecnifibre Tempo 298 Iga. But recently I have tested the new Head Extreme MP 2024 and I must say this racket is once again so easy and fun to use as was the 2024 Avocado version. kzread.info/dash/bejne/p3t8qLWYfL26mZc.html
The thumbnail clip is hilarious hahaha
Thank you 😀
In the 90's Prince Vortex had the same feature: Swing fast the frames stiffens, swing slowly and the frame softens, they called the worlds first 'living frame'
Oh, interesting. Thank you for pointing this out.
Liked your talk about today's society avoiding suffering....applies to products as well
Hi is it kinda similar to the tfight 295?
It is quite different. A lot more demanding, heavier and with a higher swingweight. And the Iga has a smaller headsize.
Are you sure it's not the Boom MP L that has 300gr swing weight, instead of the MP that has 317gr swing weight? I have MP and it's definitely not under 300ge s.w.
Como va a tener mas potencia una blade que una strike!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 por dios….
Blade has definitely more free power, which I'm talking about. The power that is easy to generate even when playing in defence. Strikes have more plowthrough, but that's something very different. Plowthrough = higher swingweight and heavier shots when you swing through.
Good shoes, but soles (all ground) are not durable at all.
For power/control, it s better Extreme Pro (Tour) with multifilament or Extrême MP with polyester ?
I always prefer polyester string for best control and power. Multifilament is mostly helping you with comfort. But the power and control doesn't really go well together with a multi.
100% agreed on the point on information being widely available and its good to hear you are not doing a paid-channel. Thanks for your efforts as always
Very interested to hear your thoughts on the new Extremes. However I am surprised they didnt send you the Extreme Pro? Will you be receiving that soon?
Is it a cheaper alternative to natural gut?
Yes. It has similar feel and playability. Maybe little bit firmer, but overall very good.
hi thanks for the detailed review, how would you compare the tempo iga 298 with the tfight 300? Pros and cons? Thanks so much
Now i use the vcore 100 2021 and i want to switch to another racket i demo the aero I think the touch and feel so good but in other terms the vcore better i demo the blade also i played very well with it but my elbow hurt so much when i play with it and i was thinking about the shift or ultra what do you think?
What would you pick between TF-X1 V2 300 vs Babolat PURE DRIVE 300 grm?
The extremes went from looking like an avocado to now looking like celeri
Very very bright celeri 👌
Stop thinking about food ha
Hey I need your input about why a person in the US can’t even order tennis racquets from decathlon online. I thought I was missing something but their customer service confirmed it.
Nice comparison. Can you please review Blade 98S v9 18x16 as well. It has swingweight 299. I am not sure if that is correct number
Compare the Percept 97L with the Vcore Pro 97L 2021 version
I can't compare these from my own experience, because I did not hit with them. But I can say from my experience with the other versions, that the Percept has better comfort and it's easier to play with.
@@CzechTennisGuy Have you tried out the new Wilson Blade 100L V9? I watched your video on the Blade V9 series and you didn't include the 100L in it.
Agreed i feel the same with these rackets, great job on this review 👏
Dobrý den Michale, byla by možnost udělat mi mé 2 Head Boom Pro stejným stylem? Provozujete takovou službu? Případně nevíte o někom, kdo takovou službu dělá? Rád zaplatím, díky
Dobrý den, určitě by to šlo. Napište mi email na michal.bayerl(zavináč)gmail.com a domluvíme se.
Cant wait for you to check the new spec. I have the lates batch with darker colorway, I like it because it reminds me of RF97
Excellent comparison. Can you please compare the blade v9 and radical mp... thanks much
NOW THIS will be interesting
You forgot Tomas Smid, he played double with Pavel Slozil. By the way I like that your forehand grip isn't too extreme, at least not by modern tennis standards
How would you compare those racquets to your Iga Tempo 98?
hi there TennisGuy! How would you compare the Strikes to the pure aero 98, ito racket speed, forgiveness? I have the Blade 9 18x20 and like its predictability and stable feel, like i did with the RF97 PS v13. I might even like it more than my Yones 97D (320gr).
I think the PS is the most forgiving 98 on the market. Yes, you feel when you mishit the sweet spot, which is good information for the player, but they are still very forgiving in that case because the balls are not going short like with some other rackets in that category like blades or radicals. Also the spin potential is top notch and the benchmark in that control oriented category, although it ist a very tight 16/19. highly recommended for anyone looking for a versatile, forgiving and also very powerful 98 racket, if you can handle the high sw
I got 1 of these recently because of the sale they have going on. It's a very nice racquet when used with soft strings. I am still testing strings to see which fits best for my game. Overall is very stable, powerful and spin friendly.
That's great. I like it with stiffer strings for better overall control. I tried it with Luxilon Eco Spin recently and it works quite well. Although the string feels very stiff, dead and muted, when it breaks-in, it works really good. But you have to swing fast to create higher ball speed.
@@CzechTennisGuy I suffer from tennis elbow that comes and goes. I strung it with Polytour Pro 1.25mm and was feeling even that. Right now I am trying a hybrid with Head Velocity and Polytour Pro and it feels way better. Might later try it with a full bed of Razor Soft.
Your 3 favourite overgrips ? And your go to basic grip ?
Off topic but I am curious: what was the big NO for you not switching to latest tf40 305 16x19 for example ?
Isnt iga plays with iso 300 now? Or its just another promo?
Yes, she plays with 300 ISO, but of course customized little bit. I think it's about 303g heavy from what I've read somewhere as far as I remember. But anyway, this Iga racket is her last signature racket. There is no ISO signature racket now and new TFight rackets will come out in the 1/4 of 2025. I hope they will make signature Iga again with the new TFight rackets in 2025.
Which is better for a medium advanced player, with top spin FH and top spin one handed backhand, who takes the ball a bit earlier and try to go for more deep and aggressive shots? The 97 310g 16x19 or the 100D 18x19?
I would say the 97. It has better head speed, which should help you to take balls early also on the one handed backhand. The 100D is better for aggressive baseliner who doesn't really take the ball early, but hits the shot rather more flat and takes advantage of the denser, more muted pattern.
how are they compared to the speeds FF2? I read that they decreased quite a lot the midsole thickness, so I'm not sure it'll be great for cushioning. I use to have a lot of pain under the heel stack because of hard landings, I solved it by buying the Gel Res9, but they are too slow and big. Thanks!!
I don't think they have decreased the cushioning at all. It's actually quite thick if you look at the shoe from the side. It looks more robust compared to the FF2 in my opinion.
@@CzechTennisGuy Then I think I'll go for it ;) thanks for your reply!
I actually enjoyed the V8 a little bit more than the V9. I felt the V8 a bit more headlight and maneuverable.
That's true. But at the same time the V8 is not so complete in terms of stability. It's more precise and feel oriented, but with less free power and lower spin potential.
@@CzechTennisGuy Yeah, which I actually prefer. I like solid headlight racquets like my old Pro Staff 6.1 Classic 95.
Is that the Prokennex Black Ace Pro (red+black) behind you in the middle of the sofa ?
There are two Artengo rackets. The red one is TR990 Power and the blue one is TR930 Spin.
You need more than 2 racket frames. If you had lets say 10 frames to match for a player, you would find at least 40% to weight spec and the rest +- 5g or more out depending on the company. I will be honest, Yonex are pretty tight with their tollerances.
Yonex has the best quality control in my opinion. At least from what I've tested so far.
How does the Blade compare to the Artengo tr960 16x19?
It has more free power, feels more stable with better overall feel. Spin is also very good. Almost in all aspects it feels like more all-round balanced racket.
@@CzechTennisGuy Thanks for your reply!
That’s funny, they are $89 usd today…
Well, no professional is playing in them. Maybe this was a wrong step from Wilson.
I could see how they might find it bulky, but at this price I’m ordering a pair as I need a deeper shoe with my orthotics. I’ll keep you posted with their performance.
@@user-nd1ku3qi7e For sure. For this money, you get the most shoe. It definitely looks interesting and very safe. Like a Andy Murray Under Armour shoe that has extra ankle protection. Keep me posted on this one as I wanted to know about it more but there are hardly any review on it. Thank you 👍
I've always wanted to switch to a Technifibre racquet, but their grip shape is too rectangular for me, just feels wrong when using the OHBH.
Just give it a try. I like it. Use smaller grip size with 2 overgrips and make it more round this way like I do with the Iga racket.
I just bought the 275g. It was 275 euros reduced to 54 euros. Only playing tennis a year. Have a lot to learn. This video was so informative. Thank you
That's a great price 👌 Enjoy the racket and thank you for your nice comment. 😍
You should try main 4G cross Fire !
4G is out of my budget. What is the Fire string? Right now I have for test at home Luxilon Eco Power, Eco Spin and Eco Rough.
@@CzechTennisGuy Yonex Polytour Fire! You should give it a try!I strung this string on my tempo 298 at 53 lbs!
@@bananafish1272 Ok, thanks for your recommendation 👍
Razor Soft is not that soft. It's a bit dead and less stiff, but not soft at all.
I want to try the classic Razor Code at first. Maybe the Soft version feels just a little bit alive compared to standard one.
I think it might be just a case of more open string pattern not the stiffness. For example Wilson Clash is probably one of the most string-wearable racket. It has a very low stiffness of 57 but a very wide and open 16x19 pattern. It just eats the strings. More open pattern (which is correct in the case of Tempo 298) wears off string bed way more quicker than more dense 16x19 in Artengo Control.
Yes, this can play also a role. It's more dense on Artengo, but I don't think it is so noticeable. You have to really examine it closely to see the difference. But of course this also adds to the string movement for sure.
