Thank you very much for showing the “village in the city” in various cities in China. These places are called “villages in the city” in China. They are relatively old houses, and the living environment is relatively poor, but at least most of them are very Clean and very safe. Various cities have carried out a large number of demolition and renovation, but they have also caused many contradictions, so the government cannot easily demolish and renovate on a large scale.

Thank you for the informative comment, my friend. I wish the city governments would make more efforts to preserve areas like this rather than demolishing them, they are truly my favorite parts of Chinese cities!

I used to live in such southern Chinese historical township area when I was a little child. Beautiful childhood memories. Neighbors were usually knew each other and kept in good relationship. Very safe neibghood; honest and kindly people. Local residents in the alley usually leave their doors open in day time and evening. I could just walk in and ask friends came out to play. These alley are treasures. Kids play games and badminton in the alley. I could easily join them and making new friends. In summer time, building shade and airflow making the little alley like a natural cooler. Those alleys were origional paved by stone pads. In rainning day, Me and other kids like to walk on it with our shoes took off. So petty, those stone pads were distroyed and replaced by concrete due to the underground cable installation. During the past 20 years, Many of these pre-urbanisation settlement were demolitioned under the name of urban upgrade or modenization. That makes me feel...... :(

As if every developed place is for tourist to see and the 'Real" Asians live in undeveloped areas. THIS IS FUCKING RACIST!!!!!!!
