As an English man who grew up near a port and was cooked fresh fish almost daily, batter should never be thick. It should be thin and crunchy. He may be using haddock which is an oily but delicious fish. The oil in the fish is great for your heart. All my relatives, trawler men included lived very long lives on a main diet of a variety of fish dishes. As for the chips, the old fashioned way is thick but and starchy. Well done Gordon, keeping it authentic. As for quality checks, I know one of the chefs at Claridges who knows Gordon very well. He asks his chefs to visit other restaurants to do secret taste checks. He is an absolute stickler for quality. He lost it all and went bankrupt once, he hasn’t forgotten. I met the man once in the 00s when I did security for him in London for his book signings. After the event closed, he took all 4 of us out to a pub and paid for everything. What you see on the TV is not as calm and genuine as he is in real life. He’s a really good laugh. I said we should buy him a drink, he told me to “fu*k off” laughing and said “if it all goes tits up again, then I’ll let you” 😂

As a Vegas local, you at some point hit a wall with strip restaurants. Most of them you go to once and never return. My wife and I consistently return to Hells Kitchen and his pub. Hell's Kitchen is really sort of the perfect tourist restaurant, great Vegas vibe, excellent service, unique theme, and yes the lobster risotto is A+. In general I think Gordon Ramsay and his team understand Vegas. His burger restaurant is upbeat and fun, his pub food is really simple but executed well, and even his steakhouse has a cool vibe and is underrated.

I was in the same first year university accommodation block as his daughter Tilly back in 2021. The accommodation was also catered and so meals were provided in a hall twice a day for breakfast and dinner. However the food was genuinely beyond shit, there were maybe 2 or 3 choices for meals and they were actually rank it was almost funny lmao. About half way through the year he actually CAME down and spent time in the kitchens there teaching the staff how to cook healthy and delicious meals and from then on it was actually really good food. It was so good that people from other accommodation blocks would try to sneak into ours because theirs hadn't changed lmao. Since then i've had nothing but respect for Ramsay

Dear Sonny, I’m Scottish. Shepherds pie varies enormously, it’s cousin Cottage pie ( beef) is just as delicious. The food in Scotland is superb. You need to try it. Smoked and fresh sea salmon. Aberdeen Angus. Anthology Brose. Sticky Toffee Pudding used to be a favourite of a wee place just near Stonehaven. Some of the influences, Italians in Glasgow, Indians in Edinburgh - all mix to make the food so good. By the way, Ozzie lamb is good, NZ is better, but my master butcher grandfather would claim Scottish Lamb was best.

So many food programmes focus on the “old traditional British food” like Pie, Mash and liquor - Fish and Chips - Jellied Eels etc. but that isn’t it anymore, London is multi cultural and is home to many well known and famous chefs. London has so much to offer when it comes to food.

@@LarsEckert_Molimo What do you mean accept the behavior? How many intense situations have you been in exactly?? Newsflash, it aint some thing where you are just "im very calm and this is what you do" Real life aint a movie. Ramsay, while going to the top, has to also think about his business and what that means for his family and the people employed. One bad night is ruin. Stakes are higher at higher levels. Which means stress is elevated. Go to any person at the pinnacle of their industry, especially if they have to deal with people. IT isnt a nice thing trying to be the best. Lol. Thats like saying MJ was too mean on the basketball court and how could anyone so professional do such a thing. Get out of your movie script and observe life a bit. Maybe even participate in some high intense situations. I bet you think Wolfgang Puck was a choir boy during his peak too. Lmao. Delusional.

Sticky toffee pudding is my favourite dessert, I didn't know Gordon's programmes had made it famous outside of the UK. Please do review food in England, but also Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland + Republic of Ireland. I would greatly enjoy seeing a nice, unbiased/positive look through some of our traditional meals and also some more modern ones in London. Obviously also try Chicken tikka masala if you haven't already! Contrary to what outsiders believe, it is a British dish and was made in Scotland by an immigrant (I believe a Bengali man but I do not know for sure and do not want to get any places in/around India confused.). Definitely focus on our wide array of seafood, even I have not tried it all and it interests me greatly. Oh and I know you will enjoy all of our other desserts because, they mostly consist of fruit, cream, meringue or sponge.

Sure, come to England & try out some of our food. It's often joked about how bland British food is but I maintain the argument that it depends how you make it. So it'll be interesting to see how you contrast it to other places you've been, just without it being gourmet like Ramsay's restaurants. And maybe try British Indian and British Chinese food. If you're still based in Vietnam, there's also a British-themed restaurant in Saigon called Union Jacks, I'm going to Saigon at the end of the month & might try it out and see how it compares to the real thing lol.

@@JR-nv4td Aye, I never understood it, so my train of thought was like, if you had one of my nan's roasts, you'd find it bland. But one my mum would have made, you'd not. Or if you bought a packet of sausage rolls from Tesco's it'd be bland, but get one of the ones from their hot food counter, it's not. So I figure you can make British food bland...but that's low quality food.

You really must come to London and all of the UK. There's huge scope in all parts of the country for great food and great content. You must have noticed that Mike Chen keeps coming back for the great food. Btw - call that fish and chips? You need a whole fillet of cod or haddock the size of a whale. I accept that Gordon has Americanised it into the little bites of fish that Americans are used to, though.

The food taste average and even the famous sticky toffee pudding was too sweet and disappointing. I regret recommanding it to 3 of my family member who share the same opinion and we had a lot of left over. 3) I was surprise by the different in quality when I eventually went to Ramsay's Kitchen, it was very different and tasty to every bite. We did not intend to order dessert but the server gave us a free sticky toffee pudding. The quality was totally different from Hell Kitchen and I enjoy every single bit of it to the last drop. Gordon should go check on his Hell Kitchen! It should have the same standard as his Ramsay's Kitchen.
