    I was excited when I met Sonny in Minnesota when his team had come to shoot for the original fair video. I had been a fan of the show for awhile and me and my GF politely approached him. I couldn’t believe how much of an arrogant , rude and scummy D bag he was. We were pretty bummed . Also he seemed extremely insecure. Always remember people can be totally different off camera

    All that and it still looks like a ghost town these days. You'll notice how many malls these days are full of mom and pop shops and not the corporate chains that used to be there. This is mostly an American trend though and my guess is due partially to COVID and mass shootings.

    it's because people don't have to go to the mall to get those things anymore. You can order them online and don't have to spend 8 hours to try stuff on. I remember 2 years ago I went to the mall of america to get xmas gifts because I was doing a fun western photo shoot for a gift at one of the shops there, and I remember almost every store was offering at least 40% off all merchandise. I went into Lucky Brand and got my mother in law a robe length knit cardigan and it was $180 tag price. I paid $60 for it. The cashier even was surprised when I paid and said she was gonna buy a couple as gifts herself lol. @@DeathBYDesign666

    Malls in the Philippines have tons of food courts. But the portion sizes can be questionable from time to time.

  • @RicoTorre-qv4oi

    @RicoTorre-qv4oi

    3 ай бұрын

    It's just serving size portions which differs all throughout the world and the US is well known for their bigger portions comparatively. The Philippines would definitely be much smaller in comparison overall but the general cost is also lower so that's something you can consider as well. As for the supposed "high-end" outlets that charges you a lot for unsatisfactory portions, that's a common trend wherever you go 😅.

    Fun fact of the day : Mall of America is the biggest Mall in the USA, yes, but it is actually only Number 12 in the world [5,600,000 sq ft] Malaysia, a much smaller country in the SEA, is home to FOUR of the largest malls in the world, three of which is in the TOP 20. IOI City Mall -> 3rd Largest in the world [8,840,000 sq ft] 1 Utama -> 13th Largest in the world [5,590,000 sq ft] Sunway Pyramid -> 19th Largest in the world (Tied with 5 other malls at 19th place) [4,300,000 sq ft] Berjaya Times Square -> 34th Largest in the world (Tied with 1 other mall at 34th place) [3,400,000 sq ft] The largest Mall in the world is home to Iran with it simply being named "Iran Mall" [21,000,000 sq ft] As a Malaysian, I'm a bit sad Sunny didn't get to film anything at IOI City Mall or 1 Utama while he was there recently as seen on the second channel. Get that on your To-Do list the next time you visit us, Sunny!

    Hi Sonny. You are so entertaining and show us all fun eats and also educate us on lifestyles of other countries. Thank you for that. As for Kura i have to say if you order from the computer menu everything is made fresh. You didn’t get any hand rolls (my favorite is the real crab hand roll with rice paper), seared scallop or sweet shrimp. Those are my favorites there which I cannot find at any other sushi restaurant for the price. And sometimes cannot find at all. Also Kura use to be affordable but since Covid they have become more expensive than an AYCE sushi restaurant. Keep up the fabulous work you do. I am a huge fan. ❤

Once that happened, most of the restaurants outside of chains (Crave, Cadillac Ranch, Buffalo Wild Wings) were the only ones that survived. We have a Kura revolving sushi here in DFW and we've been there several times - but we've never grabbed anything off the revolving display. We order everything from the overhead menu and in a few minutes the freshly prepared item zips right up the conveyer belt to our location. That way everything was just made that moment and not for the undetermined amount of time that the items are on the revolving display. I would suggest giving it a try again sometime by just using the overhead ordering system. We enjoy your videos, keep up the great job!

    Biggest mall small food options. The Barbie joint, I'd need to smashed to endure it. The phallic banana with no nuts sums up the amusement park. The state fair had way better food. That $130 "sushi" tower, most of that wasn't even sushi. I've had better for 25bucks. I wanted to see what the mountain oyster joint was like, bummer. At least Whalburger wasn't expensive. For a place like MOA it's kinda blah, I thought they would have better food.

    "burger" sushi is surprisingly not uncommon here in Japan. And unfortunately, what you experienced (Salisbury steak mislabeled as 'hamburger') was also very authentic to the Japanese everyday experience. Even though Italians get to be picky about what's called "pizza", I learned the hard way that (as someone from the land of hamburgers) if you try to teach people that one can't make a true, "traditional" hamburger patty out of one-third each: breadcrumbs, pork, and [maybe] beef, that it should be made from 100% ground beef-cow... suddenly I'm told to my face that this is simply "just an [read: untrue] opinion" and that part pork/bread burgers are [paraphrasing] "objectively more delicious". This rabbit hole goes deep - there's a whole category of Japanese food they inappropriately call "Western food" - 洋食・yòshoku, that is just pale imitations of various foreign foods {other than Chinese, which has its own bastardized category, like in a Panda Express} that use things like ketchup as a placeholder for "tomato sauce". Just look into the history of "spaghetti Napolitan", a classic Japanese "Western food" favorite. It's horrible. But 5-y/o's love, it. And they keep loving it until through their nineties. On the other-other hand; I used to be quite the snob about sushi when i was brought up in the US (i still freaked out a little when you dipped your rice directly into the soy sauce, out of pure habit) until I came here and realized how laissez faire they are with the toppings. When you hear "it's all about the rice", that ain't no joke. Even conveyor sushi rice in Japan tastes better than anywhere in the States where you don't get to watch them make your 寿司っ. But supermarket/conveyor sush- in Japan is only *sometimes* better than places that upped their game in the US (from most recently, Texas is my frame of reference). So don't worry about the meatloaf (or "hamburger", as they mistakenly call it) on your sushi. But I noted that you weren't enthused about the rice - that is definitely a sign that that place might have just sucked. And despite all of that, I want to point out that I like Japanese food - particularly the traditional stuff when they don't cross out of their wheelhouse. And I've heard whispers and rumors of places in Tokyo that have managed to properly educate/equip themselves to make authentic versions of even things like Texas barbecue; so, it's coming along. どんどん

    I'm originally from Arizona, and moved to southern CA when I was 11. Lived there til my early 20's. Now I live in Minneapolis, and I have to say, the food here is sub-par at best. I was expecting something far greater than I got when I moved here blindly to be closer to my partner's folks. The music scene has disappointed me most, though. There are a few food gems in the city, although they are not at the mall. I really love Maya Cuisine for Mexican food, and if you want Thai or Vietnamese, Quang and Khun Nai Thai are on the same block pretty much. Excellent food. The one BBQ place I will recommend is StormKing Brew Pub in downtown. Those people know how to cook a good brisket like I am used to. And their hot sauce is bomb.
