I listened to a sermon one time talking about a kid walking down a beach throwing stars back into the ocean. Someone told him "What you're doing doesn't matter." The kid replied, "It matters to this one." And then he threw it back into the ocean. I somehow feel silly, but I'm relating that story anyway. After all, we are all God's creatures.

The reason for Leon's accuracy may also be that his antennae give him an additional smell-based stereoscopic imaging. He knows what your hand smells like, and can differentiate it from the shrimp. Amazing that he understands you are benevolent and to be treated with respect. I wonder if he enjoys the worms so much because they remind him of first being rescued.

Leon has been a boon in my life. At first when you got him I was just about homeless. I lived illegally in a trailer just waiting for the cops to come. Slowly as you built up Leon's aquarium, I was working on my life. Building it up. I found someone to help me in my aquarium of life. I was probably giving up on life probably just as much as Leon in the supermarket did. I'm doing a whole lot better now! I've learned to be fed by hand and to be king of my aquarium! Definitely went better hand feeding than the first dozen times hands feeding my praying mantis. I had one that even after over a dozen times of hand feeding would still miss and grab my hand out of excitement for the food. She would always let go of my hand in favor of switching to the food, and she never hurt me. I would say Leon definitely knows you by now. The way he watches and follows you shows he knows you. One of my female praying mantis would hide when she saw anyone who wasn't me, but when she saw me she would come to the door to get enclosure and wait for me to let her out. It will be interesting to see if Leon ever gets to the place of watching the door way and waiting for you to come in.

Even if it were only 30 seconds, that would be 30 seconds I personally wouldn’t want to ever experience. I can’t understand how some people can actually believe that they don’t feel pain. When my grandmother was 13 she was sent to live and work in a wealthy household as a maid. One time she was told to cook a lobster. She didn’t know how, so she put it in a pot with cold water on the stove. As the water started to heat, the lobster obviously began to move around, and it grew more and more frantic trying to escape so she had to hold the lid down, while crying and feeling sick. It took a long time for it to die, and my grandmother who loved all animals, was so traumatized by it, that she never again even considered cooking a lobster for the rest of her live. Couldn’t eat them either.

@@mememe733 If you have ever fallen over and cut yourself you would know the pain one hour after is much worse than the pain you felt at the time. Our adrenaline kicks in and the pain is minimized. Many people who are shot or even burned will tell you the same thing. My Grandfather first cooked a lobster when he was about 17 or 18 years old. He too thought that it was necessary to kill it before boiling, so he stabbed the creature through with a screwdriver. Fascinating stuff I always thought every being has the capacity to problem solve at least with crustaceans I’ve seen it for myself it’s awesome

Never in your life, did you expect one day you would have 3/4th of a MILLION people watch you hand-feed your rescued store food bought lobster you now keep as a pet and homie. Its the combo of the sound of your voice, the narration and scripting, your editing choices, and of course Leon himself and the idea behind what your doing has all come together and shot you both into the history books. You, Me, Leon... we will all be gone from this earth one day, but the two of you will live on in infamy here on your channel. The reason for Leon's accuracy may also be that his antennae give him an additional smell-based stereoscopic imaging. He knows what your hand smells like, and can differentiate it from the shrimp.

Going from cold water to hot water would be worse no doubt but as an old man now I consider would I prefer one minute of absolute pain or 3 years of cancerous pain to see me off and that one minute of absolute pain while sounding horrific, seems much more attractive to me. One minute of pain in an 80 years lifespan... life wasn't really that hard.

My Grandfather first cooked a lobster when he was about 17 or 18 years old. He too thought that it was necessary to kill it before boiling, so he stabbed the creature through with a screwdriver. (Presumably he did not have a knife close at hand; he was on a jobsite.) Family lore does not recount if this strategy was effective. For the record, I am very allergic to lobster (and other shellfish), and so I am indifferent as to how they meet their end.

Hey Suzanne from southern USA. Thank you for checking out Leon’s story.
Leon knows you love him, He's Precious, Thank you for Sharing him with all of us, 💞
Filmed beautifully Brady! Leon's colors are so vivid now, and seeing the tiny crabs, anemone, glass shrimp and other creatures and details are amazing. You're brave to try that handfeeding experiment! It's very interesting to see how he used his sensitive antennae to discern the difference between the food and your hand. Glad the little fish at the Woods House is thriving and cats are adjusting.
Always get excited to see Leon and hear his theme song! Thank you for rescuing and loving kitties too! Our kitties send their greetings to yours and to Leon and friends from Memphis, TN~ 🦞🦀🦐🐈🐈🐈🐈

What a lucky lobster Leon is! He seems to appreciate your kindness. He was very gentle in taking the food from you. You've done an awesome job with him!
How emotional. ❤ I think he perhaps recognising you are the feeding hand and the hand that rescued him and rehabilitate him. It’s obvious he doesn’t perceive you as aggressive or a threat to him. They can distinguish friend from enemy. Hand-feeding Lord Leon the Lobster was something very beautiful to see. ❤

love ur connections with leon 💗 thanks so much for sharing
Its so adorable that he is so protective of his space. You provided a home for him and he loves it. He looks amazing and has come a long way.
I love how you can have a whole ecosystem in an aquarium
From a grocery store suffering to a luxury fish tank! Keep up the good work 👍
Brady and Leon are superstars. From what I'm reading in these comments, they are changing people's lives for the better.
I just got the feeling that Leon knew the little crab was there left it out sharing his food with his little cousin. The way he looks at you shows he is studying your behaviour thinking about things deciding what he’s going to do about problems or situations. Fascinating stuff I always thought every being has the capacity to problem solve at least with crustaceans I’ve seen it for myself it’s awesome
This is like a tiny corner of the internet where it wholesomeness defies the toxic meta - it is my favourite place to visit and join Leon to ponder on the mystery of life 🙂
This has gone from Leon's story to the story of him and his community, you being part of that, and it's beautiful.
Leon loves his sentient dad.... for giving him great life. ...❤ love from London. 😊
I swear, Brady, may I call you Brady? Anyway, you’ve done more for education than Nat Geo! Your photography is superb and you’ve educated us in an entertaining and delightful way! So enjoyable to see and hear about Leon! You’re the best Dad ever!
Leon was really ready to throw hands with the glass cleaner 🤣🤣
Hand-feeding - what a great experiment! I was amazed when he differentiated between your hand and the shrimp. Your cats are beautiful and all the tiny tank life is exciting. Your vids are like a letter from home. Thanks, Brady.

Congratulations, and thanks for taking all the time to create these videos and share them with the world.
Wow. This is real interaction between you and Leon. I think he understands exactly that your hand is a part of you 😊I bet if he could walk on land he would someday follow you around the house like a little dog 😊
Leon and his tiny friends are a joy to watch. Always look forward to your videos ❤️
I have two ideas. A t-shirt with that little spot he get in his back. That way it a “if you know, you know” type inside thing. But a Leon children’s book. I think it could be a great book for children in foster care.
Your dwelling looks very clean and cozy. Nice decorating too!
Every now and then I have to come check on Leon. Glad he’s thriving

When I watched the first video about Leon, I was just curious about the rehabilitation of a grocery store lobster. I had no idea how much I'd appreciate this southern American man sharing little wisdoms about life and opening his home to every mistreated or abandoned animal he comes across.
There's something so nice about this budding little ecosystem you've got growing here - it's fascinating to watch
Top class content. What a ride its been from day 1. Thanks Brady.
NEW LEON!! Thanks for making these updates; they always cheer me up :D
What's really cool is the colour change Leon goes through when he gets the worms. The blues around his joints becomes much more vibrant.
