They can experience sensation with their nervous system, that they're brains probably process as either good or bad, our brains respond similarly to harmful sensations by producing pain. Some say that they feel pain just the same as insects do, some say that they are complex enough to feel pain, and some even say they don't feel pain because they don't have a brain in the first place. Pain is a very complex mental state. Only a few animals have been proven to experience pain the same way human do, and they usually have a nervous system far more complex than a lobster's.

No one ever complains when the lobster is served on the table. I personally think it's only cruel when you kill lobsters just for fun. Animals kill other animals for food. I think there is a reason why people do certain things in majority- very often, the thing most people do, is benefitial to them. If something is too risky or detrimental, very few people will try to do it. However, that's different from doing things just for approval instead of safety. @@masteroogway1586 It's an unconfirmed myth that crustaceans are not capable of feeling pain. Strangely enough, it is perpetrated mostly by people in the business of cooking lobsters alive (or eating them). We have no scientific basis to conclude that Arthropods or any other animal for that matter does not feel pain because we have no way of measuring suffering which is usually included in the definition. A common argument used to be that if the animal shows behavior similar to a human or has a similar neurological make-up as a human, it likely feels pain. But this approach is flawed in several ways and very anthropocentric since we represent but one line of evolution. For example, there are animals that can see without having human eyes - or any at all. The truth of the matter is, we simply do not know. We don't even truly, unambiguously know if other people feel pain. Outside our own, personal and individual experience, pain is an assumption. There are however several clues that point towards animals having a pain response. Especially in crustaceans there is enough evidence to at least consider the strong possiblity that they do in fact experience pain. And unless we are 100% sure, I believe subjecting them to especially painful and torturous death during prep is just inhumane and barbaric. But that's the human way I guess. I mean we are pretty certain ducks experience pain, yet foie gras still exists. PS:. Fish can't choose the way they eat their meals. We can. That's the crucial difference.

@@alexwells7170 no if wouldn't. I'm not on the lobster menu. Also lobsters haven't figured the whole fire thing out yet. Which makes sense, given that they live in the sea. But maybe in a few hundred million years the descendant of a lobster could boil my fossilized remains. Though realistically speaking there wouldn't be any. It could piss on where my grave used to be I guess? 🤷‍♂️

I'm reading the comments and thinking, "Am I the only one that notices that these 'lobsters' are missing their BIG. MEATY. CLAAAWWWS!" These are shrimp!

I've night dived for lobster in California many times and it's so strange to see that lobster sit there and not thrust it's tail to escape ? They are incredibly quick when they thrust the tail under the body and shoot away from any intruder. This one just sits there and lets itself be picked apart... the narrator says (1:49) "First it's disarmed"... actually those aren't arms (or claws), but the two antenna. After which the legs are picked off. Strange indeed ! Great video either way.

Damn that was brutal. Imagine getting eaten alive. 💀

You have interesting beliefs. The very religion you follow is the one that will eventually enslave the entire world, ushering in the Antichrist and the New World Order. You believe in the Constitution, but you believe in a selfish religion that secretly seeks to destroy our Constitutional rights, which are very much God-given. I'm in no way an actual Christian (they're hard to come by), but the Creator is the giver and taker of life and that's just how it is. Lucifer created nothing. He was a perfect creation, however, before deciding to try to take God's place. A lot of stuff you believe in, like the self-deification, that is all straight from the Bible. All of this "be your own god" stuff is right in the book of Genesis. I don't know, I'm no preacher and I may end up in the same afterlife as you, but Luciferian/Satan worshippers have the most conflicting beliefs. I'd argue worse than Atheists. Equally obsessed with God, too. At least your crowd doesn't seem to deny God's existence, though.
