H1MIN: PARIS GUN - PARIS GESCHÜTZ

Ғылым және технология

The Paris gun or Paris-Geschütz were long range artillery guns designed to bombard Paris during World War 1.
It had the distinction of being the highest range projectile fired during WW1. The gun pushed artillery technology to the limit and the shells reached stratospheric altitudes to cover such long distances. Little was known about the technology since the guns and plans were destroyed. However the engineer's notes were discovered by Gerald Bull 70 years later.

I’ve just found this channel, and it’s really fantastic. Each video, while short, clearly has a lot of effort and love put into each one. Not only that but it’s to the point and says everything important about a specific topic - not getting sidetracked halfway through. You’ve earned a sub, keep it up.

Ww1 era was very inventive, but most of the stuff they made didnt really see action as it was either too expensive or complicated to mass produce. Google about the Kettering Bug for example, it was a literal cruise missile.

That last part about Gerald Bull finding the notes is an interesting point, for those who don't know, he was one of the lead men in the idea of a Spacegun, using a cannon to launch payloads into orbit, and worked with the US Government, and later for Saddam's government, to pursue that objective.
