H1MIN: PARIS GUN - PARIS GESCHÜTZ
Ғылым және технология
The Paris gun or Paris-Geschütz were long range artillery guns designed to bombard Paris during World War 1.
It had the distinction of being the highest range projectile fired during WW1. The gun pushed artillery technology to the limit and the shells reached stratospheric altitudes to cover such long distances. Little was known about the technology since the guns and plans were destroyed. However the engineer's notes were discovered by Gerald Bull 70 years later.

They had to calculate the rotation of the earth while the shell was airborne as an aiming factor

Sorry, should not have not gotten a notice. If you did apologies, there was an error, wrong city listed on the map. KZread really needs to provide the ability to replace/fix existing videos.

It's fine. Thank you for correcting the information and please take care everyone.
I’ve just found this channel, and it’s really fantastic. Each video, while short, clearly has a lot of effort and love put into each one. Not only that but it’s to the point and says everything important about a specific topic - not getting sidetracked halfway through. You’ve earned a sub, keep it up.

I just want to say, that your channel is the freaking best among all others. Like literally animation + educational value... The Best bro! In a blink of an eye you will get to 1 million :D
The most beautiful animations and sounds and graphics, all in the back drop of solid backdrop of narration, once again.
Your animator is extremely talented

130 kilometers range, that just about a range of modern short range ballistic missile. God, imagine shelling enemies area without worry detected by radar.
It's still very difficult to comprehend the thought of a cannon so old firing grenades to such long distances... The mechanism is just amazing.

Ww1 era was very inventive, but most of the stuff they made didnt really see action as it was either too expensive or complicated to mass produce. Google about the Kettering Bug for example, it was a literal cruise missile.
That last part about Gerald Bull finding the notes is an interesting point, for those who don't know, he was one of the lead men in the idea of a Spacegun, using a cannon to launch payloads into orbit, and worked with the US Government, and later for Saddam's government, to pursue that objective.

tbh i love how simple the explanation yet still informative to a point, it may seem like you're reading from wikipedia but i'm fine with that since the script does not cause information overload.
Just stumbled upon your channel. Amazing content, I love your work!
I'm gonna like all these. What a good channel. This is what KZread should be.

LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! PLEASE KEEP POSTING!!!
Fantastic content, concise and to the point
imagine if warfare had become giant artillery and spotting aircraft for counter battery fire

I think the videos would have greater reach if you removed the yellow H1 from the thumbnail. Congratulations on the great content.

Yes, thumbnails of your videos are not very good or interesting. I think its okay to change style abit for better distinction of the videos, even Real engineering did the same thing recently with their video thumbnails.

Please could you explain how gas shell work ? (im french sorry i dont know the word for it but in french it's an "obus")
I just found about paris gun in my geography book and came here to see more.
I love yours animations of this but I think the best here could be if you show to how big crater was because of this bullets
If it to be believed, some of the projectiles fired by the Paris Gun may have been the first man-made objects to have reached near the edge of space.........
".. Notes were found by Gerald Bull." and thereby hangs a tale.
Nooooo, I need more videos D:
Just a comment to boost visibility
Can you do a video on how gun stabilizer on MBT works :))
Please make more videos!!!
I mean if you can hit a city from 130km away considering all the crosswind and turbulence repeatedly that's an accurate gun.
In France we named this gun ''Grosse Bertha''
Damn, that's one sexy gun
I feel like this gun was the grandaddy of the Gustav railway cannon

Yep and other WW2 Germans supergun.
Gustav gun : father? Is that you? Paris gun : son?
Why not just rifle the barrel in two halves? If one half is rifled, why not rifle the other half? It would probably take a while to get the rifling to match, but i guess that they could design something to help.
You there, yes you the one doing the videos. I dont know who you are or where you came from but you are gonna take my sub because this is the shit.

I have a question whether Geschütz means cannon in german.I am not learning german but I have seen this word many times while watching ww1/ww2 stuff. For example the idea of the tank is called a motor-geschütz (motor-cannon?) or that Paris Geschütz could be called a Paris Cannon
Missiles: I am about to end this gun's whole career
If i im remembering correctly, the paris gun needed to lead the target because of distance
Please make more videos
I heard one of the conditions of the treaty of Versailles was Germany had to hand over a completed Paris gun. Does anyone know if that is true?
Would u please do history on German U boats?
Big gun go boom

*Only legends know Gerald Bull *dude who found plans of gun*. He almost even built bigger one.*

Well I just watched an entire KZread channel with less than 10% battery left on my phone.
Wait so there was more then one gun?
Ok first nato ball striking and I found this channel and watch it all
About 900 casualties from this massive, expensive weapon? Sounds like Germany went to extreme lengths to achieve little more than a harassment attack.
