Nice review! Wish more would do exactly what you did. One on each wrist and field test! -- the b-fang extended battery on Amazon is well worth it! But I switched to the 9d mate. (10w and duel rx for amsat) I tend to leave my 5dr at home due to short battery and a bit pricey for field / POTA. With that said, I tend to leave the smart watch home as well, hence looking for another watch... just like radios, cant have to many! 😂 73's!

Your vidos on the the gbd h2000 changed my mine on the mudman thanks. I had picked up the negative screen mudman hated it cant read it. And to add the H 2000 you mentioned you wish you could remove some of the option you dont use. You can if you link it!! I know you dont want to but hear me out you can turn off the exercise apps you dont want diplayed on the watch though the phone. Then unpair it when you get it set up. But you do get alot of Benefits by linking it you can set your watch up though the phone easier.. great videos

Wow, the screen looks super dull on the GW-9500. I thought the positive display model had good legibility, but it looks so much worse than other positive LCD G-Shocks - like any of the basic squares. I'd say the GW-9400 has a superior display, but I wish the build quality was on par with this new Mudman.

Yes, the screen is a disappointment. The numbers are big but there’s a lot of reflection and refraction that leaves the screen looking dull.

@@JimKinkade Yep, I currently have the GWG-1000, and the display is beautiful. It's super legible at all angles, and I can't ever remember there being a time where I couldn't tell the time, regardless of lighting conditions. It's a damn shame this Mudman's positive display is lacking, otherwise it would have been a nice watch to pair with my Mudmaster.

Well I'm looking to replace my ageing out PRG 270, I would go for the one mudman , like you have. However ... The thickness of G shocks is always disappointing, so as long as the mudman is the same thickness as my PRG , yeah definitely ... Take care out in the desert .

For some reason, I like the design of the GBDH1000 more than the 2000, maybe because of the steel back and a little more weight to it! Might be you could review the 1000 vs 2000 one day! Like your review style, very practical.

The rangeman might lack some of the latest technology but it’s a great watch. I had a rangeman about 13/14 years ago and I’ve just bought one again in black with the positive display and it seems to be the same watch. Maybe someone else could tell us if there’s been any changes made to it over the last decade. But I find it to tick all the boxes for my requirements and I think it’s really cool looking too and comfortable and light enough for me to forget it’s even on.
