There's an underlying assumption that if slavery never happened then Guyana would have prospered. What atrocities have they committed in their.own history.

Hey man, good video and your point stands of how Brits are condescending towards their former "subjects". But one point, these are not journalists but presenters who read out from teleprompter or repeat what is said to them on ear. No one takes this show or these clowns serious. I wish the president did not come to this show.

Please take notice that this man does not ask the african tribes who sold the slaves to the europeans waiting on the shores to pay reparations. He also mentions nothing of the white slave trade which enslaved hundreds of thousands of Irish Scotish and others to North America as well as those caught and sold in the African seas, to Africans. Nor does he mention the native American slaves sent to Europe. Should these peoples not recieve reparations as well. If in fact the British are to pay any reparatios, should the cost of ending world wide slavery be deducted. The people of Britain did only finish paying to ensure the end of world wide slavery 200 years later in 2015. At the same time the cost of the American civil war might be taken into account. Who pays and who recieves. Many black people are recent immigrants, will they be left out. Many white people are recent also, should they pay. My family are from Indentured Irish(slaves). Who is going to pay me and should I pay for others who had the same treatment. The people of this world need to stop being victims, stop putting their hand out, stop hating each other and move on as one group of human beings. I do agree the BBC presenters were assholes as well. You however tend to dismiss slavery though the ages. the Egytians were known for enslaving entire civilizations (the hitites and the jews for example) yet you say this is not comparable to the American slave trade. The romans had one slave for every 3 people in Italy, mostly European slaves, should Italy not pay the rest of Europe.To say the this about other times of slavery makes you actualy worse than the BBc presenters since as smug as they were, they never said any thing so calous. It is almost shocking that you started with the statement "being ignorant about your ignorance".
