Guyana after gaining it's independence needed decades to even reach a functional state but has shown perseverance proven by the fact that the country still stands strong. With the money from the oil they found, they finally have an opportunity to reach levels of prosperity similar to 1st world countries. Now that and the entire identity of the country itself is being threatened. The thousands of natives that fully identity as Guyanese for 100+ years, the pride of the Guyanese people, the lives of the entire country, everything is being threatened by the annexation of Venezuela. You're talking about 2/3rds of AN ENTIRE COUNTRY. No foreign power is forcing the Venezuelan gov't to do what it's hinting at doing around times of economic turmoil and election there. Guyana has been open and VERY CLEAR about it's stance on not being manipulated by foreign powers INCLUDING EXON MOBILE, that's a complete fabrication to even try to hint that they are being used. If Guyana is to become very close military allies with the U.S now, it's solely for it' own protection as the smaller weaker country to Venezuela and they are not the ones to blame. Any sane person would seek shelter for their loved ones, from a more powerful friend, should they be threatened by a more powerful foe.
