Why? he is nothing but a sore loser. Great Britain ended slavery. The most enslavement was done by Africa enslaving other African countries and that is a fact! Look at the pyramids, built by slaves is a prime example.

The president conducted himself in an intelligent, dignified and composed manner. While the presenter conducted himself in a condescending, ridiculing, humiliating belittle manner. RM’s attitude, body language, questioning revealed his true feelings and distain. The laughter at one of the Presidents answers from the pair was disgusting behaviour. This reminds me of Phil and Holly where the side kick goes along with the horrible treatment of guests. ITV has not learnt any lessons and keeps carting on.

Even white house was built by slaves. Thus Injustice carried on for over 300 years and racism , prejudice and discrimination is rampant. It's not easy being black. Caribbean people have English surnames and the white man's religion was forced upon us. Our identity and culture were changed. Go and read history in depth and u will think differently lighter skinned slaves worked in the masters houses, and they received compensation. Richard needs to be put back in his place. He is just but a media/tv presenter. There is an enormous Cavan between him & wot his profession is compared to that of being a duly elected president of a county. Respect was definitely lacking on his part and his producers should have told him to reign it in. It’s surprising that no one even had the audacity to inform him or step in.

I would argue that if slavery still affects black people in the Western Hemisphere today then why are only 68% of them living below the poverty line. Surely if slavery is still that much of an impediment then 99% - 100% should be below the poverty line. Perhaps the 32% that are not do not go around demanding reparations and actually WORK for what they have. As a white British person if my bank balance is a little low it is not the fault of the Italians (Romans) or the Barbary Pirates both of whom enslaved my ancestors in the past. It is my my fault for spending too much. How about we all take responsibility for our own lives and learn from past injustices? Money doesn’t heal wounds, time however does and you’ve had 200 years. Move on!

I'm from The Bahamas. Excellent interview by President Ali. "We don't want a palace that we built"! As the President says the Transatlantic slave trade was the greatest injustice perpetrated in world history. The descendents of the very first slaves taken from Africa in the 1500's-along with all African slaves sold to slave traders continued to be born into slavery until slavery was abolished in Britain and its territories in 1834. Slavery continued in the US for another 30 years and was finally abolished in 1865. Slaveowners were then compensated for the slaves they had to set free and the "freed slaves" were still held as "apprentices" for another 7 years (in the Caribbean).
